Looks for Match (2/11)

  1. My recent experience with a Wilson was disappointing. One cracked before I completed installation, the replacement was so spongy that pushing the right hand side wouldn't completely disengage the left side. These weren't the shielded ones mind you, but these ambi ones were just MIM'd....
  2. Mine grips my polymer grip just fine but not my new Cheely. What the OP is talking about it activating the locking lever on the back of the holster to retain the gun. It seems the Cheely trigger guard is causing the trouble. My locking lever will operate if I push down on the lever that's on the left side of the holster while I move the locking lever. I haven't looked hard at it yet and I hope there's some simple adjustment.
  3. Tampa-XD45 I'd be ashamed to show it. While it works great it's not pretty. I used a MIG welder set for thin material to build up the 4 corners of the rails. Like about 1 full second of arc time at each corner. From there I just started grinding and then filing. I had to make the fit a little looser than I expected to get the gun to run, but it's considerably tighter than stock.
  4. I'm waitlisted at 6 minutes after opening, yes. Does anyone know how many total slots there are, and how many were left for us in "coach" class?
  5. I welded mine up and then fit it. It helped accuracy based off of some offhand shooting, but I didn't do any "scientific" testing at all.
  6. Never mind, looks like I found it. Shooter's Connection pistol sleeve looks like it will work.
  7. I'm looking for a simple soft case for my open pistol. I'd like something to fit into my pistol bag that I can easily take out of the bag and carry to the safe table. Any recommendations of something to fit a 2011 with comp and big old C More on top?
  8. Both the CMP and NRA national championships require iron sights to be shot in some of the individual long range matches, so that means both scopes and sights for those events. Palma is still all iron sight.
  9. There are a few holdouts, but not very many. Scopes have taken over the winning as you'd expect.
  10. Hornady One Shot is easiest to apply because it's an aerosol. It works because it is a wax and won't get sticky like the lanolin lubes will. The lanolin lubes will stick the bullet to the case a little bit which will give inconsistent neck tension leading to increased velocity spreads.
  11. I've had excellent results with Precision 1 contacts by Alcon. Importantly to me, the quality is very consistent from one lens to the next. I had too much quality variation with Acuvues.
  12. I can't say I've tested this in pistol rounds, but it is indeed correct in rifle reloading. I consistently get more lower SD, ES, and most importantly accuracy when I don't clean my brass. For rifles I've found that purposely lubing the inside of the case neck gives better results than not lubing. You'll want to use graphite, moly, or One Shot.
  13. I have run a lot of SK and it is heavily wax coated. I don't find a buildup and because it's slick it runs extremely well. Primers are easily ignited as well.
  14. Ours didn't need a break in. We've found 2 things- first, use the magazine loader that came with the gun. This will make sure the rounds stack up in the mag right. Second, we've used SK (which is waxy and slick) ammo almost exclusively in the gun. We've shot a little bit of CCI standard velocity and it also performed well but not as well as the SK.
  15. Thanks for the interest in the toolhead from forum members. We have done prototype 650 toolheads and will have 550 prototypes done very soon. Unfortunately, there aren't any pics or info on the CNC'd toolhead on our website right now. We will remedy that very soon. I expect that we'll have base toolheads ready to ship by the end of the month, and the floating die toolheads very soon after that. Pricing will be very attractive for the quality you will receive.
