  1. The green dots are nice. Don't think I checked for the 6 moa dot but they may be available. I have a couple 3 moa that are really nice in the bright sun.
  2. I have CMOREs (some of them can be fit with larger dot modules, probably not the mini dots), a 6min Viper and I just put a Sig Romeo 0 on a revolver. Same footprint as the J Points and Fastfire. Pretty reasonably priced and really nice dot. Sleep mode for inactivity and really user friendly. Probably buying more of them!
  3. I ordered parts to rebuild mine after I wore it out. Got them from a place (can't recall the name) in Arizona. Replace the safety and some springs and the slide stop was worn out. Nice gun but too much aluminum to last like the Buck Marks or Rugers.
  4. I use the same setup. My 929 is over 70K and I don't see the problem on my end. I usually re-test for this almost every time I get a new batch of bullets. Even though the bullets are the same from the same suppliers.
  5. Wish that was available 15 or 20 years ago! I ended up putting a CMORE rail mount on mine. Now to add the +4 basepads!
  6. On the first N frame that I tuned the trigger I ordered a stock hammer from Numrich Arms and followed the best I could the pics of "Carmonized" hammers. Changed the rebound spring, re-bent the leaf spring and polished a little. Got the Hammer to 6 1?2 lbs. All good. When I sent the gun to Boss Hoss after 25K rounds, he took a bit more off the hammer to lighten it further. Lot of rounds through that gun and still going strong. From what I understand, the MIM parts are hardened. I guess molded parts are less expensive and can still be hard? Why folks are scared of them is beyond me. I don't remember seeing them fail.
  7. Naa the dude that started this thread is grumpy cause he can't get his Pro Chrono to work. Tech guy you know?
  8. Well, if you need extra frustration, you can always go to closed caption TV online banking online DMV online pharmacy melted down mother boards crashed hard drives. streaming TV M-Donnie's food que etc etc etc Or maybe the wi-fi at the match that refused to download the stats? Yep, pretty much got the bugs out of everything. I will stick to writing.
  9. My notebooks tell me what I need to know. You know, all the stuff that you know, you need to know? Velocity bullet weight charge Federal primer average velocity / string PF I shoot Federal cases. The gun? It's in my hand. I will leave all that useless tech nonsense to you boomers. I will be shooting while you do that.
  10. I add plugging in the battery because I disconnect it when I don't use it for months at a time. It sits out in the building on my range. Battery, on, shoot, write, etc., unplug battery, go eat ice cream. Yeah, I write my stuff down too. Whoda thought I would use that so much after all those years of learning to write?
  11. I once upon a time could hit the high 8s on Roundabout and Smoke and Hope 1st target pretty reliably. Other stages not quite so fast. I shot O.R. Interesting about where you are sweeping the safety. I do the same thing. I was once told by an RO that, "I can DQ you for disengaging that safety before you are on a target, you know?" I said, "Can you show me the rule?" "No." I said the rule is that if I AD and it hits in 10 feet it's a DQ, right?" "Well, yeah." "Okay then, I'll be careful." They hear everything with electronic muffs.
  12. I have found that on my LnL the powder drum will begin to drag after something around 10K rounds loaded. It hangs up either at the top or doesn't make the full sweep. I have to watch for it and pull and clean the drum and the inside spaces. That will cause the no powder condition sporadically until cared for.
  13. For which gun? Numrich (Gun Parts Corp) has 929 in stock / $3.52 ea. .035 (which the gun was made to use). The ones I have are blued and reloadable by hand. Not too much wiggle. I don't see any for the 38/357 models.
  14. The way I see it, for the 10 minutes it might take to sort out 10 each of 4 or 5 headstamps, load and measure, it is worth the time. If nothing else, you wind up with 50 loaded rounds. Then you might actually know. I have sorted FC for my revolvers because some of the others don't fit my moon clips properly. The manufacturers are all different. From primer pockets to web to case thickness. And it does make a difference. My autos use range brass because that .015 is not actually noteworthy for a gun and load that at best might be 2" at 25 yards. Most are not that good for many shooters. Most of that type of shooting is closer. If it were a PPC or NRA gun and load, yeah maybe. Hard to believe folks would rather argue than test. But the load development was a big factor that got me into reloading in the first place. Not so much now I guess.
  15. +1. I have been following and wondering what the problem is with that tolerance. Too small for any worry IMO. Maybe try 1 brand of cases for a short run and ee if you feel better about it?
  16. You might see a difference if you were to rest on a sandbag or similar. The gun will tend to recoil (lift off) of a hard surface. Worth a try to know in the future.
  17. You are still holding it wrong! Hold the decapping pin to the right. It's a C! It's the Lee Crunch Die.
  18. I bought one several years ago. I saw people using them at matches. Thought it was a great idea. My range has small stones mixed with stone dust on the firing line. The picker would pick up stones with what casings it could grab but any that were in between were not picked up. Probably got 50% or so. I called the seller to return it and got a raft of crap from the girl on the phone. "Nobody has ever returned one! You aren't doing it correctly, " and such. Finally said, "Fine, I will toss it." and hung up. Ended up paying my 10-year-old a penny a piece for the empties. He usually made around 10 bucks a week. I guess the cost was a wash.
  19. I have been using similar on my Rugers and Buck Marks for about 10 years or so. I make them from 1/2" thick rubber (mat I think) and super glue them on. They tend to last for years as is but I can take them off (to replace mag springs, etc.) with an Exacto knife. Then I re-glue and ready to go. I made some for a friend. He left his mags with me and got them back the next time we shot. I grind mine with a small sander to tailor the fit after roughing them with an Exacto. Nice though to have a 3D printer.
  20. Should be a fun read. Hey, weren't they still timing with 2 stopwatches back then?
  21. If you call DAA they can usually take you through the steps to get the right fitment. Josh L. called me the last time I ordered to offer some help on a step to save me the grief. Very helpful!
  22. Makes sense to me. I went from a 686-plus to a 327. Then the 929 came up and I liked the way it handled, I guess due to the years of 686s and model 29 (what I started steel and bowling pins with). Like the 929. No problems now that those early ones were fixed. Going on 75K and only 1 (or 2) trigger re-freshes so far.
  23. I heard somebody invented a way to clean it now? I shot with a guy about 5 years ago that had an Olhasso-tuned 929. He shot short colts. He claimed that once you shoot them in the 929 they stay with that gun. Said they won't work well in the 627 anymore. But I wonder why try if you are set up with cases, a load and the way to reload it? Guess I like simple more than that.
  24. I think your load and preference really depends on your gun and you. Your regular 9mm auto load may be fine with the 929. Test a few and see what they chrono, PF and how accurate they are. The 147s might be fine, depending on the O.A.L. but that again is your preference. I shoot all my 9mm at 1.100 because that is my shortest chamber and I like simple. I load everything the same setup regardless of bullet diameter (.355/ 9mm, .3575/ 929) or gun, and the only thing I change for the 929 is the case. I shoot Federal in the 929 because that is what works the best in my moons. I use the Lee U die and normal Lee seating and crimp dies, except 1 station after priming I flare the case mouth a tiny bit, separate from the powder drop for convenience. (I notice a bit of a drag when the powder drop die was flaring.) YMMV. I have shot everything from 96gr to 160gr. They all have their attraction. I settled on 135gr Bayou or 125gr powder coated from my bullet guy/friend. That's what I shoot in all my guns. BTW the 929 was designed for .035 moon clips. Many shoot .040. Preference. You can but any you want. I have Ranchos and some others. Numrich Gun Parts Corp sells the originals for 3.50 or so. I have many of them. Did I mention I like simple? Not really rocket science. Load 25 or so, chrono, check the accuracy, PF and go from there. Have fun with your journey. When you get the right combo it's really a gas!
  25. Since N320 is fairly close (no not exact!) to W231, I think the 3.2gr. recommendation is accurate. My load for the 145 - 150 gr projectiles is 3.3 W231. I load to 1.100 in all my 9mm because that is my shortest chamber in an auto. (Yes I understand that autos are different than revolvers.) I don't change anything other than the case between the 2 platforms. I also use the same set up for .355 9mm bullets and .3575 revolver bullets with no creep. BTW my 3.3gr load with a 147 or 1 coated 150gr runs at 132pf (auto) and 130 (revo).
