  1. this is a bummer. I have an older plastic rival that i love, and really wanted an S, but i can say all of this will make me hold off on buying one I hope they get your issue fixed, but as mentioned at this point the only solution seems to be swapping you out to a whole new gun
  2. i need to bite the bullet and get one of these. Keep dragging my feet
  3. it is such a cheap and easy fix. Ive been preaching it for 6 months
  4. a good initial start is a 124 gr jacketed round nose (i used montana gold cmj until they became unobtanium) now i use rmr titegroup power mixed brass and primers my 1911 likes a hollow point style, my plastic guns seem to prefer a round nose style I measure 10 drops and take an average from that for my powder weight then leave it there and do 1000 at a time from normal ipsc and uspca distance 1/8" accuracy isnt needed. I need to look into coated to see if i can save a little bit. shoot coated in .38 spl
  5. it is kinda crazy. not sure why its tight, but its cheap and easy to fix. i could have just run WWB 115G and been fine, but my reload stuff wouldnt work, and im too busy to have different loads for every gun, so i had it done and boom, no issues
  6. i try to tell everyone this is the biggest issue over insertion i see as an issue, but the chamber throating is f'in magic and its cheap Wait, forget that. Anyone wanting to toss their gun into the woodchipper ill buy it for cheap from you...lol Glad it worked. It made my plastic gun 100% reliable to the point i want an S now just because i like the heavier gun
  7. Awesome. Glad to see another gear head on here I tell everyone nothing goes in that we dont have to massage somehow. but people think were expensive...hahaha
  8. I get that it should be right out of the box However if it comes down to A)i can shoot this gun because the mag hits the slide or B i can put something on my mag to stop it Im choosing B 100% of the time I deal in very high end racing stuff, and i see this kind of thing daily from parts costing 10X what the gun costs Should we have to? probably not but if there is a solution to the problem and you like the gun otherwise, Id go for it and not look back or sell it to me cheap and ill do it....lol. I havent shot one, but i love my sfx and really am wanting a rival S
  9. IMO this is the best AP range in the country. But i do have a little bias. It is a phenomenal place with outstanding people that i really miss
  10. i used them exclusively for years. Great projectiles so hard to get ive had good luck with rmr im considering switching to coated lead for availability i still have 10k mg, but am looking at other options
  11. indeed. The best way to improve a product is with real world feedback. Id get in touch with them asap about his issue
  12. ego + 100 listening skills -100 ive competed and won at the highest level in the world at my profession ive always listened to any offered advice and not been a dick right or wrong, as its a learning experience an open mind and lack of ego go a long way offended? nope amused? yes you obviously know the answer as you are clearly measuring everything and just know so why post?
  13. i should have clarified better. I have the older tupperware version, but im guessing people may start to accommodate the steel version more. So i was wondering if i could use the new guns holster for my sfx. Specifically the OP magnetic retention holster but i think you explained it pretty well anyway that it may be loose in there. not hotdog down a hallway loose but still loose. thanks man bob
  14. do the rival S and the older rival sfx use the same holster? Ive been using my comptac for my m&p and it works ok, but i was considering this holster Thanks
  15. I read that, i was referring to the original post, not the GX Vice I misunderstood your post was in reference to the Vice and not the OP
  16. Patriot Defense I used cylinder hone, but he swore them off after mine.
  17. its failing becaust the throat is too small from canik mine would run factory 115 (like WWB, etc) fine but all my 124 reload stuff was not going in because of the throat and the bigger ogive on the bullet. I had its throat reamed and it runs everything flawlessly now There is a link in a thread about canik throating
  18. I chose option 2 for my sfx. Having to load shorter for one specific gun is a nuisance to me, so i found someone who can throat the hardened canik barrel and had them do it. Well worth it
  19. I had my Canik barrel throated as well. I didnt want to have different loads for different guns. All my other stuff i load out to 1.130, and didnt want to have to be 1.090 for 1 gun. BTW, where are you shooting matches around denver? What type? IDPA, or? Im thinking about getting back into shooting matches maybe.
