  1. What, no mention of the Greek? Just kidding. We are lucky to have a guy like Greg Copeland who is also a great AR15 smith as well. I need to go see him, I'm just afraid of what I will want when I go there.
  2. George: The problem with conventional slings over the shoulder is, during a transition or while shooting the pistol, it can slide off your shoulder. Especially if there is any movement involved. Then it is pointing almost straight behind you. If you keep a tac sling short and control the muzzle with your week hand during movement, there is no reason to ever break the 180. Pat
  3. I don't think the pin will shear. but I did have a bolt break last year. It broke in the cam pin hole. It extracted the round, then the bolt fell down but managed to strip a round and punch the primer with a lug. It blew the mag out of the gun and the exploded brass was formed around the barrel extension. It wasn't a hard chrome bolt, and didn't have many rounds on it. It was an aftermarket no name part. I think Kurt nailed it, I havn't had any Colt bolts fail.
  4. Thanks Kurt. We are looking forward to Mesa and the RM 3 gun.
  5. I recently had a bolt shear off two lugs on my AR 15. The Smith hard chrome bolt gave out after a steady diet of 77mk's after about 5000 rounds. I have not sent the bolt back yet, but I was wondering if anyone has an idea of the life limit of the bolt and other high stress parts. The load I am using is a little on the warm side, but not anything out of the ordinary for long bullets.
  6. I am not sure what you mean. I have had them for a couple years. I don't shoot the nine much, but my wife and daughters have. I have also shot it in a couple idpa matches. They have worked good so far.
  7. Never heard much good about the Springfield. A friend of mine just had one break on about the fifth shot in a match. He then had to finish the Mile and a quarter long stage with the iron sights that were not zeroed. A Leupold 3.5x10 LRMD can be had for about 600. used.
  8. I havn't tried the Chips either, but Metalform makes a good 9 round 9mm mag.
  9. Brownells sells a Wolf extra power extractor spring. They come in a package of 3. You don't use the insert in it. They work really well, and improve or even cure extraction problems with short barrels.
