  1. I have not used Oregon product for years. I tried 40 cal , 44cal, 45 colt and 45 acps back then could not get them to stop depositing lead in my barrels. I have nothing except nice things to say about the company they tried to help me but the problems still existed. I was shouting PPC league at the time and just couldn't deal with the lead in my 44mag 629 or my 45 acp. They bought back all the many thousand bullets I purchased . As a side note these bullets were extremely accurate. I used several powders, 231,#5, vit 340, clays, universal, unique, 700x, 800x, red dot, maybe I would have better luck today but I have stocked up on molly bullets over the years. have never had to loo back. good luck keep trying
  2. Almost any 200 grain moly bullet has been my most accurate bullet.. I have used bear creek bullets for a long time but have used others such as bullets bullets bullets , and J&L bullets. All have been more accurate in my 45acp's than any plated, fmj , or lead bullet with lube. You probably can't go too wrong with a 200 grain bullet in most 45acp's. I prefer semi-wad-cutters because it leaves a clean paper punch type hole in the target.
  3. Sure looks like fun shooting. If you are trying to kill that piece of paper I would use that very accurate load of w231. Why beat up the gun with target practice, I think bullet placement is very important. I have a Classic Dx in 44 mag with 8 3/8 inch barrel that I have shot mostly low practice/target loads. It shoots great. When up in the mountains I use my 4 inch S&W model 29 loaded with hand loaded 310 grain lead bullets loaded hot to mag velocity and 240 grain molly bullets loaded with 6.7 grains unique for target and practice. I shot league with both a 45acp and a 44 mag both using w231 as powder and it was excellent. If I remember correctly my 44 mag load was just a little more stout than yours and used bear creek molly bullets mostly. That load was extremely accurate. Keep having fun and when needed use the heavier loads for the 44 mag. But just for fun and training I think it's kinder on your guns to use the lighter loads. keep shooting Nevada Ron "An unarmed man can only flee from evil, and evil is not overcome by fleeing from it." 4. The stainless steel tank can transmit heat energy away from dishes and they cost more. The whirlpool, kitchenaid brand of dishwashers between $350 and $550 are quiet ,do dishes really well and have very few service calls. Some of the kenmore dishwashers that are rated highly are the whirlpool even the models from $398 are great. check below for some models your stores may carry. http://www.lowes.com/lowes/lkn?action=prod...ool+dishwashers
  5. "I was wondering if anyone had some data for a real good target load for 240gr cast lead bullets out of 44 Magnum cases" For a mild target load I like several loads 7.7grs of universal 240 molly swc 5.4grs of red dot 240 molly swc 5.4grs of vv 320 240 molly swc 7.5grs of unique 240 moly swc or any 240 just about. hope this helps for target loads.
  6. 7. Hello z man, I have shot bear creek bullets in many calipers (38,40,44,45) for at least 10 years I also have a glock 22 1st gen. I clean the barrel as I shoot every couple mags or so with a brush or rope. No problems. I also load for a glock model 21, 20, 27. I have also shot so many moly bullets in my guns that I can say they have treated my guns and barrels superbly. When I shot league years ago I could get away with practicing with moly bullets. I shot 45acp 200 grs and 44 mag with 240 swc molley. My moly bullets were always the most accurate ( as opposed to jacketed) whether from my 45 acp custom ss caspian with a nowlin barrel or a s&w model 629 blued for league. For me Bear Creek bullets are inexpensive and reliable. It would take a long time to list all the bullets I have from bear creek. 44 spl/mag and 45 long colt and 45 acp and 40 are most used. it's nice to see someone else has had the same experience with glocks and moly.
