Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. Hi Henning, When you get a better rear site done for the Standard class .40 Limited Custom HC definitely put me down for one!
  2. Tanfoglio .40 Custom Limited HC Hennings magwell & grips, Henning XL firing pin and 13lb Wolf hammer spring. Have taken out the firing pin safety, ground off the front strap & replaced with grip tape, buffed all the sharp edges off. Henning 520 & 550 mag base pads with Grams springs & followers. Gives 18 +1 rnds. Run with BladeTech holster also from Henning which replaces my Ghost holster. Waiting on Henning developing -. rear sight, sear & hammer. Thinking about getting Henning foresite, guide rod, and more mag base pads. Trigger is a lot better now and have adjusted reset & over travel down as far as I can but still prefer the trigger on my S&W 1911 also shown.
  3. I have been thinking a lot about the rear site on these guns. My site had the adjustment screw move clockwise (down) during the last Nationals here which was a bit disconcerting but once I was aware of it no real biggy, just meant I had to keep checking it. When I got home I sighted it in for 50m and took a note of where the notch lined up to. It has stayed ok for quite a few shoots and then moved down again last weekend. I would have thought it would move up. A friends rear site broke the rear blade off at the same Nationals (another .40 Limited HC) and when I saw how little meat there was actually holding this rear blade on by I have been worried mine might do the same thing. I work in an engineering shop and have access to cnc mills etc and have been looking at making a fixed rear but soon realised that if I was to maintain the same point of aim I would just have a straight rear sight with no notch if it was still to fit in the box with your new magwell, 550 bases on mags, etc. The front sight is already pretty low so I don't think I can take any off that but have been toying with the idea of two side notches and having the front dot of the fibre optic foresite sitting proud on top of the central column in the rear site. It would look like the little i with a notch on either side of it. At this stage it's just a thought and I'm not sure how fast it would be to get a site picture. Another idea I thought might work was to just remake the pivoting part of the sight with no side adjustment, after measuring where mine is, and then just locktiting the height adjustment bolt in place. At least it would be a lot more robust! Also been thinking about using fibre optic in a fixed rear site possible with the front site dot sitting on top of one in the rear site, or one on either side of the front site dot but lower down to give a upside down v shape. Again this would mean the rear blade could be lower than the front site with the front site dot just kissing the top of the rear site blade. How was your point of aim affected by machining your rear site so low!
  4. T Tried the new magwell last weekend. Really liked the feel of the grip with the supporting hand. Will need to work on my mag changes though as mucked up a few under pressure. I think this magwell works best with at least the 550 base but will get back to you when I have run the new mags a bit more as it has been suggested to me that the failure to seat the mag properly may have been because the springs are still new and with the 520 base in particular I should probably just run 17rnds for a while. Still think I'll be ordering a couple more 550 bases and spring kits shortly tho Still running standard slide stop pin which works with the grams followers but could this pin be interferring with with reloading the mags with this follower?
  5. Have found this discussion really interesting as I am looking at getting either the Limited Pro or Stock 11 and am from New Zealand. I already have the Limited HC Custom in .40 and thought that I wouldn't mind shooting in Production but with a similiar pistol. If we get the same as you did in Aussie I would be over the moon as the it would be the same dimensions as the Limited so less to get used to. I also see that Henning is thinking of the same but in .40 which has also been suggested by a mate here who also shoots with Limited and is an interesting thought as of course I'm already set up to load .40 s&w but will probably still go for the 9mm for less kick, muzzle flip, etc. Anyone got any opinions on the difference between the Limited Proand the Stock 11 and oh Henning any discount for two sets of ali grips?
