Why not keep it simple, use a old fashion guide rod, 12# recoil spring & learn to shoot the gun instead of trying to make the gun shoot as you do?

Factory gun's are about $400.00 cheaper than custom ones & now you know why. Send it to a smith, wait about a week, & get back the gun you want that will do it all. Should not cost more than about $200.00 + shipping.

Have never had one run better than the other. Set up right they should all run the same if the AMMO is right.

The fit on the sti frame kits are great, very tite.

If you get the slide to lite, you will not get the barrel to stay in battery long enough. Per-mature unlocking will peen the top lugs down & ruin the gun.

If you have never cut a frame for a ramped barrel, then fitted a barrel to it so as the timing is perfect from lock up to unlock , you should buy a short block kit that has all of it done. If not you may have to buy a lot more than you wanted.

Shot the nat's a few years ago, they had a stage where you engaged a popper that after falling raised 2 targets that were flat on the ground. After hitting the popper, we would run foward & shoot the targets on the ground before the popper fell. You had to be fast but most everyone that shoots open is. The ro did not like it, but nothing he could do about it because the activator had been engaged first.

There is absolutely no problem building a 38 SUPER on a 40 breach face. It will work fine. Just don't go to super comp.

All the way down, clean, oil, test fire. It is a gas gun. Needs gas to work.

make sure you are not "cheeking" the gun. Shoot a group w/o your face on the stock & see if it is you.

O-ring will not hurt you, just throw it away. Make sure you are useing a oil that will no evaparate under heat over a weeks use. I use mobil 1 on all guns & do not have this problem. Also make sure you do not limp wrist/shoulder it. Make sure you tear down the bolt system all the way when you clean & oil it.

If you shoot the popper first , then shoot targets before popper fall's & targets move, all is well?

It looks like the case is hitting the outside back edge of the ejection port. This is why you see most slides relived in this area.

With the lighter comp comes other issues. The gun will cycle faster & harder. Make sure to spring it right.

Most all barrels made today shoot more accurate than the shooters themselves. Pick one & enjoy.

I love the cav receivers, I just cannot use one because I have pigmey fingers.

Take a piece of 3/4" wide by 1 1/2" long thin piece of spring steel & silver solder it to the release tab on the bottom. Shape it to fit & it works great. I have done a few.

With most stages 8 rd. friendly, you will have to reload everytime you move while the 40 shooters will not. Big disavantage, It's a game so buy a 40 sti & enjoy it.
