Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. My tests on 6" knockovers have an open choke good to 15 yards and then ic to 20 and lm good to 24 with federal 1-1/8 8s. That is an browning A5 and have heard their chokes are tighter than some.
  2. Another vote for WSF works great for both 124 and 147s. Clean and low pressure to make minor.
  3. The basic federal 1oz 1600fps shot best in mine (about 2in at 50 yds), Rio reduced were second (3in groups), Remington reduced weren't very accurate (6 in groups). They all shot better with the I/C choke than a modified. The biggest thing though was the point of impact shifted dramatically at 50 yds with the different slugs, so you have to pick one and stick to it.
  4. 44.67 raw 50.87 total 70 % B class production that was last month plan to shoot it again this month. Too many Cs and Ds especially at 25 yds.
  5. Thanks for a great match, Carrie and all the other volunteers. Like you said best match ever for only $30. Bob H
  6. I really like the Warren tactical myself. It has a .145 notch rear and the rounded bottom of the notch seems to be quicker. I then run a .125 FO front. I like these better than Novak's, Heine's, Bomar's or Dawson's (not all on M&Ps). Bob
  7. I live near Twin and regularly go to Nampa, Emmett, or Idaho Falls. Maybe we could share a ride or get together for a practice. As far as I know I'm the only uspsa shooter from this area.
  8. Why are all the top scores a little slower than the last couple of years? No sub 80 for anyone.
  9. My dawson precision front sight broke right behind the dovetail (not the fiber optic the metal), the fiber optic is holding it together. I didn't drop it. I was shooting it one shot was good the next the sight seemed all over the place and turns out it was. Are there any tougher sights to fit my sti edge, I probably got about 10000 rounds out of that one. It was .110 wide.
  10. I have a witness match in 10mm that I am happy with the accuracy (2"/25). If I order a 40 barrel from eaa can I expect the same accuracy, and are the match barrels any different than the ones they sell for $110? thanks Bob
