Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. Hi Because we have two 550s we mounted the 550s to 3/4 inch plywood; drilled holes into the counter top and used t-bolts to hold the unit in place. this way we can also take the units on their plywood to the range to chrono the ammo as we reload. you could do the same even if you have one. See previous posting for pictures. http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=5485&st=875&p=1043003&fromsearch=1entry1043003 TnJ

    Chick Flicks

    yup - J for Julie
  4. Hi I am getting a new open 38 super with a C-More and a Quinn II side mount. With the previous discussion regarding the Range Master Holster digging into hips I am wondering if it will work with this set up. I am also a female so I tend to wear my belt more on the upper hip then the waist. thanks julie

    Chick Flicks

being a wife myself, it's better to go to a chick flick with another chick. I never understand why wives want their husbands to go.
  6. I use the belt keeper all the time as extra precaution to keep the belt on for the reason above; don't want to get DQ'ed
  7. Hello Does anyone have experience with the CED Range Bag? either the professional or the deluxe. I'm getting a new open gun and want to get a new range bag. I am considering the shooters connection range bag but don't gag, my open gun will have blue grips so I was hoping to get a bright blue bag which CED has. Of course I will go with quality and functionality over colour but if quality and functionality are equal then colour wins. Julie
  8. I make it a practice during the make ready to turn the dot on and always take a sight on a target before i load and holster. It is now drilled into me second nature to look for the dot and ensure it is on.
  9. I did a quick look at the IPSC Perfect Practice Pro to determine if I should purchase it. I would have thought it would allow you to record your drills and monitor your progress. compared to other fitness programs it doesn't have much for the same price.
  10. Hi Jeff we didn't get the PM julie
  11. Hello thanks for the info. I have ordered a C-More with a Quinn II side mount. I will add pictures when I get my open gun. julie
  12. Hello I am new to open guns and have been reading the posts about red-dot sights. They get too technical and into comparisons of brands. My question is what are general the pros and cons (differences) between a slide mounted type red-dot vs a c-more like red dot sight? I am having a new STI 38 super open gun for IPSC competition made for me. Some background. I have been shooting for only 18 months and one year of that doing IPSC competitions. I started with a Kimber 45 and quickly went to a 9mm M&P. My main goal for the past year has been to improve against myself which I have but it still isn't fun always being last. I'm a petite female and not very strong (yet). I have a fabulous friend who lent me his STI 38 super open gun and I loved it. Got me excited and motivated again! It has a c-more and I do have occasional trouble finding the dot (however, only shot with it 3 times all in competitions so i know i will improve). Last weekend I was able to try an open gun with a sight mounted red-dot. I found it easier to find the dot but it moves up and down much more than the c-more. So in addition to the general question above any difference in parallax error and if so should i be concerned? Is there any difference in accuracy? thanks very much Julie
  13. Jeff Did you develop the program? I understand the comment about having limited time and thus focusing that time on practicing rather than fitness, however, if you already have a fitness routine it would be good to change some of the exercises to be specific for shooting. Is the program gender specific, i.e. are there exercises for females vs males? julie
  14. Hello everyone let's get this thread back on a happy note. My husband and I went to Fort Benning for the first time last year. It was his first 3 Gun match and I went as an observer. We had also never been on a US Fort before. Wow what an amazing time we had; and the ride in a stryker! Hope we will get in and see you all there in December. Thank you so much to USAMU, the Maneuver Center of Excellence and Linda.
  15. If you're as nice as you sound, then it should be easy to make new friends.
