    G24 fair price

I came up on a stock Gen 3 G24 at a local shop that I was interested in buying. However when I pulled up the blue book value it is about $100 over value. I'm sure I can somewhat negotiate on price. I looked up online auction sites and some of the classifieds here but there really isn't a concensus on price or that many out on the market. Just wanted to see if anyone had seen them selling over book value. Book has it at 98% for $550.
  2. Wilson Combat also make fiber optic front sight for the 92A1. And they also have blacked out rear sights. To me they look similar to Warren Tactical rear sight. I've been looking at doing the same with a 92A1. http://shopwilsoncombat.com/Beretta-92_96/products/465/
  3. My uncle was a transmission mechanic for years. I used to help him every once in a while and my foreams were usually burning the next day.
  4. I have a 9mm M&P Pro from late 2010 production and it shoots about 8" groups from a bag rest at 25 yds. My Glock and Sigs shoot about 2"-3" from the same rest. I tried different ammo and still had the same results. You can say that maybe its the old saying of its the indian not the arrow but from my internet search and from what i have seen of other more experienced shooters the problem seems to be the gun's barrel. You can find some other posts here on the forum or also take a look at other forums or trainers websites for info. Some of the sites are below that I found while i was trying to see why my gun shot so bad. http://10-8performance.blogspot.com/2012/06/s-m-barrels.html http://mp-pistol.com/smith-wesson-mp-forums.php http://www.kyledefoor.com/2011/01/answers.html http://www.apextactical.com/blog/index.php/random-apex/first-shots-with-the-mp-barrel/ http://pistol-forum.com/showthread.php?2903-Recent-manufacture-M-amp-P-9-accuracy Bottom line from what I have read the issue seems to be the barrel lock up but some also argue that twist rate affects the accuracy with different bullet weights. As it is right now i have seen picture comparing early production barrels and newer barrels and they have slightly different dimesions. Ultimately if you like the platform and don't mind having to maybe change out the barrels then go for it. If not try something else. From what I have heard S&W might change out your barrel if you send it in and they deem the accuracy to be sub par. However, I have personally not tried that.
  5. I run a Warren Tactical set with fiber front on my Gen 3 34. I was origionally going to get the Sevigny competition set but i found that my eyes prefered the warren tactical rear instead of the Sevigny competiotion rear. The shape of the tactical one seems to draw my eyes to the front sight better IMHO.
  6. I was looking at putting and adjustable rear sight on my G34 but I have some questions on the two that are offered. #017012 Does this sight fit flush with the back of the slide or does it overhang. #024026 What size does standard width notch mean? Also the product description on this item does not state "super-positive locking windage adjustment" as on the other sight. Is there a difference on the locking mechanism.
  7. I will probably wait until they come out with the next version that has the integrated mag coupler.

    OPEN GLOCKS

Brownells also sells a similar one. http://www.brownells.com/.aspx/pid=42165/sku=100-005-827/Product/Plain-Black-Slide-Racker
  9. I not sure that will fit in my range bag even with a folding stock.
  10. A friend of mine has done it for a couple of years and has tried to convince me to join in. I just don't have the patience to wait for the brewing process.

Great service. Unlike other stores it seems that they always try to actively restock their sold out products. Haven't seen the same from other places. I could wait months before something is restocked.
  12. This summer I will be taking a carbine course quite a distance from home. I will end up putting more rounds through my AR during the class than the gun has through it right now. So I don't want to end up with a dead gun during the class and have nothing to repair it with. I used to live in the area where the class will be and know that there is no place close by that I could easily buy parts or have my gun repaired in a hurry. What do you usually carry with you to either a class or competition to repair you AR in a hurry? Or even just what you take to your local range to repair it if it goes down during practice. What would you recommend to take with me.
  13. Saw these a while back and was interested in getting some to try out. Has anybody tried them out. They look like they might be just a little too big for competition though. http://militarytimes.com/blogs/gearscout/2012/03/13/vickers-tactical-glock-baseplates/
  14. Depends on your expectations I guess. You'd still be on paper at 100 but it was about 3-4" each time. I tried loosening it tightening it applying forward or rearward pressure while closing and just wasn't happy with it. XPS in a LaRue 110 is within 1/2". I do miss the side buttons though. Is there anyway that you could take off the mount on the EXPS and use another?
  15. Would those mags even be legal. You would have to shoot open and jam it into the magazine gauge.
  16. You have any pictures? Something else that I will have to look at next time I go to the hardware store.
  17. Legal in USPSA but illegal in IDPA. Use can grip tape in both just on grip area only, not on slide. You also cannot put it any where else on the frame. You can't stipple or put grip tape underneath the trigger guard for example. Just to double check look up the latest version of the USPSA rule book. In the appendix in the back there should be a diagram on where you can stipple or put tape one.
  18. Was the return to zero that far off that you needed to change to a Larue mount? I can deal with it being off a little if I remove it and reisntall it.

    DQ?

I thought my training was lacking but clearly I need to turn it up to eleven.
  20. I saw the scene with the aliens but did not stay all the way to the end. I have tried to see the shwarma scene but the studio already pulled all the videos from youtube.
  21. I watched the origional movie over a year ago and thought it was pretty good. The only problem was watching some of the scenes with my brother in law and niece. She is in college but still some of the scenes were over the top. Will probably see the Swedish versions before I see the US remake.
