  1. In most cases I use Kroil. Smell takes some getting used to. It takes off carbon, lead, rust and lubes…
  2. Seems like allot of unnecessary work across ancient threads just to be credited with 1 post
  3. My 929 ~6lbs will have trouble setting off a primer or 2 out of 100 with reloads. Winchester factory ammo, I get click or click click every cylinder. Always go off the 2nd time around though!!
  4. JB bore paste for the carbon ring removal/chamber polish, the clean barrel as normal. Nylon brushes best.
  5. It is the work he’s doing for the New aluminum framed M&P which I’m assuming he’ll be using. He’s been shooting an optic mounted M&P for quite awhile.
  6. Be sure bullet not contacting muzzle cap, that was a common issue (remove car and test). Mine shot fair with 147gr .355 but made a huge difference when I switched to 160gr .358. As others have said, this is not unusual with 929’s.
  7. Should strive to set up stages that are challenging for the veterans but still doable for all others who have also paid/helped out to play. A stage with many alternatives will provide as much of a challenge as a 20yd shot covered with no shoots, The clock will weed out the weak…. The addition of PCC and the prevalence of optics seem to have helped to drive difficulty levels up as many forget when your trying to challenge a GM level PCC competitor with a 32rnd 20-30yd stage design you just decimated a D class Production shooter that may never bring his $$/Support back to the range. FYI, I’m C classified in Prod/Rev/L-10/Lim/CO and currently Open, I’ve been able to complicate even the simplest stages myself
  8. There are a few options out there depending on if you want a closed design which Safariland has a good Option. For an open style holster there are a few choices. I use a Guga Ribus as I like the muzzle retainer option.
  9. We tend to use tape for rainy and winter matches as it sticks much better than plasters in those conditions.
  10. He must have won the Publishers Clearing house several times…..
  11. I run .358 160gr / 9mm in my 929 with just a little more crimp than that. With your straight wall case your going to want a bit more I think. If those are Bayou’s I will tell you after having to bust apart 250 rounds (long story) for being a slick coating they stick in the case extremely well!!
  12. My Cheely stainless grip is not coated and had same issue. Have to either have coated or keep it cleaned / oiled…
  13. 1 min time penalty per stage for not participating…. No $$ involved and hurts more!!
  14. Odd / cheap looking for sure. Can think of no good reason, maybe ejector strength? Cost cutting?
  15. I use one of these collapsible types. Little larger wheels/tires helps to float over rocks and sand and spread the weight. Still a little large folded up but fits your requirement . https://www.amazon.com/dp/B083HQR1TC/ref=sspa_dk_detail_2?pd_rd_i=B083HQR1TC&pd_rd_w=2JHia&content-id=amzn1.sym.83409d9a-e0b8-49b3-8763-77ecfe03c4a7&pf_rd_p=83409d9a-e0b8-49b3-8763-77ecfe03c4a7&pf_rd_r=51MA5G06W36T0D5GN1DD&pd_rd_wg=wVAgm&pd_rd_r=62f61b19-91c2-4866-aff5-6dcced78bdbe&s=lawn-garden&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUEzRVhLTFBBWFVONzFHJmVuY3J5cHRlZElkPUEwNDM2ODE0MUlRMVNYU1JQMTQ1QiZlbmNyeXB0ZWRBZElkPUEwNjYyMDI4MUc3SEFINlFKODlIWSZ3aWRnZXROYW1lPXNwX2RldGFpbF90aGVtYXRpYyZhY3Rpb249Y2xpY2tSZWRpcmVjdCZkb05vdExvZ0NsaWNrPXRydWU&th=1
  16. In all the pistols you highlight there are so many replacement components that can be easily replaced as they wear out I doubt you would ever see a limit. As it is, if I put that many rounds thru a ~$1k gun before it broke I would consider it $ well spent and move on. Now, on a $6k to $10k gun, I would do all I could to make it last.
  17. Keep in mind some of the match grade ammo offered by Eley, SK, Lapua, etc. is HEAVILY wax coated. I think those noted as pistol or Semi Auto won’t be and will leave your chamber running cleaner. Best to check the Mfg’s website before you buy….
  18. Typically if that is done by an electrician the white lead will have black tape wrapping it to indicate such. That is how it used to be done, probably not to current codes.
  19. If your only dealing with small amount of bulge brass save the roll sizer expense and pick up a Lee bulge buster set & a cheap single stage press.
  20. Seen this done where the round ended up on the brim of the guys cap causing him to knock his cap and muffs off and the round ending up on the ground. Muzzle stayed pointed down range though so there’s that, He ejected to the ground rest of the match.. Maybe he should watch this video….
