Well, you’re not alone. I’ve wondered about this too. Takes some extra time and care to no advantage, if chamber flag actually is put into the chamber and not just down the mag well there is no way to have a round in there. BTW also retired. I’d like to hear the reasoning behind this. RTL

Or you could just e-file a Form 1 for the pistol upper. no $200 for the stamp if you owned it prior to the new rules, no requirement to engrave it. the filing isn’t hard or you can spend $50 with Silencer Shop, use one of their kiosks for prints and picture. no idea how long BATF will take to approve but at least you’re not out $500 for a longer barrel you really don’t need. +1 If you don't have any KROIL use a shot of PAM cooking spray after each shooting session. Works just as well and bonus, smells like french fries. RTL

As a charter member of the old farts club I can assure you that I come home from matches with a white index finger far more often than not. I agree that it’s part of the game and fun. RTL

Already got one of those with a comp Rimfire Optic is doing just fine. I do like the Sig better though. RTL

Glad you’re enjoying the FX9. I run a 16” carbine in AZ for PCC. Mine isn’t too picky about the lock back, working with MagPul and ETS mags, not so much with actual Glock mags. I haven’t seen the case bulge you’ve got. I’m running a KeenShot hydraulic, AR10 spring, and short stroke spacer to let the bolt go back just far enough to engage the BHO. So far it’s been a good combo, got most of one season on it, mostly level 1club matches. RTL

You can use pretty much any 1911 grips if you sand or file the top inside corner of the left side to clear the slide stop. RTL

+1 on the Howard Leigh’s. I’m still using a pair I bought about 8 years ago. Be sure to add the gel earcups, they really enhance the db reduction and are much more comfortable after a few hours. RTL

They used to ship no problem. Took a while for orders to show up, usually around a month. You might be able to shave the follower and get 17 in there but effect on reliability might not be worth it. RTL

Been a while since I ran one of these but I think SPS still offers a 16 round mag for 45 ACP Para from their online store. Just getting mine setup. Ran first match last month. Running great with CCI 40gr mini-mags. Holosun 407 on top. Trigger is going to need some help pretty soon but I want to shoot it for a while first. RTL
