  1. To the Ozark / Adam Arms crew, RO's, Support Staff and Sponsors. Thanks for putting on an awesome match. The location was great. I don't know how you killed all the bugs in the area but thanks. The stage's were set up well and there was nothing tricky or hidden. I love shooting steel, and enjoyed the MGM spinner on 7. I had been looking forward to one of those after seeing them on Iron Man videos. Stage 9 was my favorite. Can't beat long range steel. Thanks for a great match. Well done. Jay
  2. Again, from a Tac Iron shooters standpoint, I am in a wait and see mode for the new rules. I know that at I have seen new shooters arrive at our local matches with Aims and Eo's. I have also noted that within a few matches those seem to disappear and get replaced after those shooters start to look at the 1 to 4 style optics that some of the others have. I agree that many buy the 1X electronics because they think it is capable of everything. Question, Is it the 1X sight that accounts for a what some feel is a "bad taste in the mouth" effect after a new shooter begins to attend matches. Or is it a bigger and normal progression where that shooter had trouble with the shotgun and handgun as well. We all started somewhere, well most of us, and that was nearer to the bottom. It is a leaning curve. Question for "Kill_Switch", Have you stuck to the the 1X exclusively or have you tested out some other scopes or a magnifier. Oh and welcome to the forum. IS THE LACK OF PERCEIVED PERFORMANCE BY A NEW SHOOTER WITH AN AIM OR EO A RESULT OF USER ERROR AND NOT HAVING THE SIGHT DIALED IN. My real world rifle consists of an M16A1 with the triangle handguards. No upgrades allowed. Jay
  3. Ohhhhh no you don't Jomar! you ain't jumping divisions! are ya gettin skeered or sompin??? jj JJ, what gives? I see you signed up for Open Division...are ya gettin skeered or sompin??? Jomar, I'm sure that is just one of the discrepancies that needs correction. JJ wouldn't PUNK you out like that. Right JJ.
  4. Is there any other NEED TO KNOW INFO on facebook that is not here or on the Match website? Throw it up here please, 2 days till arrival. Jay
  5. JP15/VTAC would make a great Tactical Rifle. Has everything you would need. JP has many different options in trigger "weights". A heavier trigger seems to be one item of consensus which has been covered extensively in this discussion. Jay One other minor aspect to remember with the JP15 is that you would need to change out the low mass bolt (LMB) for a standard bolt carrier since the LMB does not have the grooves for the forward assist. I found this out the hard way in the middle of a CoF. Take a look over the spec sheets that 1911vm added. The JP VTAC has a tactical operating system, not a low mass. This rifle is JP's TACTICAL WORK GUN. Jay

  7. I thought you were a bada$$ until you said this. Its a little tougher calling those 50-100 yarders on paper isn't it? Jesse, WELL, Its just a long way to walk to paste a target. Jomar, You, are predictable. LESS THAN 2 WEEKS TILL FIRST SHOT. OH YEAH!
  8. I hope so, I've been looking forward to some 50 to 75 yard shots. On steel of course. Jay
  9. USPSA 3 GUN CHAMPIONSHIP IS IN THE BOOKS. Is there an accurate number on who shot what( irons or dot) in LIMITED. Jay
  10. I'm running a troy battle rail...they make a 4inch rail that mounts at 45 degrees? Sorry, was thinking the Troy VTAC Jay
  11. How many slots were avail, as in, when these 10 get filled how many competitors will be attending the match. Jay
  12. I have a JP short range sight. They are nice, durable also. Should go onto the Troy with the addition of one 4 inch rail. They mount up real solid and thats a must. Jay
  13. It accepts cerakote form Brownells very well. Used the sniper grey as it best matches AR-15 style black. Jay
  14. Trapr, Jealousy, You bet. If I had only known. Good hrs, sleep on the job, learn to be a chef, work out, ect. Jay
  15. Thats funny, but I can't hack on Trapr cause I've never met him. BUT if I were to, I've heard that, God made cops so firefighters would have heros too. Jay
  16. After seeing jj ding the 400 yard bonus at FN with the globe sight I was interested. I/ve jumped ship with Jomar, We just picked up brand new JP rifles with Globe sights. (kinda tough not to be excited) I like the same sight that Jomar posted about but am taking JP's advice and cutting off the little round tip. Thanks for the Math lesson Trapr, never thought about the sight in terms of MOA before. Jay
  17. Mine is a 26 inch with a +7 Nordic tube about 1 inch in front of barrel. Gives me 10 in the tube so I can stuff in a few extra if need be. Jay
  18. I have one of the .035 from KNS that isn't to thin because it is tappered to the tip. Looks to be a .05 for 2/3 of it and the top 1/3 is tappered. It does not feel fragile. Jay
  19. UPDATE ON DEL-TONE-LUTH WEBSITE. SOUNDS MOSTLY POSITIVE. http://www.del-tone-luth.com/
  20. Of note: I did receive a reply to my email which stated it would be added to the file. Jya
  21. I don't work for DPMS / Del-Tone-Luth Range. Del-Tone-Luth Range runs a monthy 1 day 3 gun match, even with snow on the ground, with 5 stages as well as, of course, the Tri Gun. The Range is my home base for where I am able to gain match experience. I just made this post to offer those who were impacted an easy and direct way to list how the shut down has affected them. If you were impacted financially let them now. If your vacation was screwed up tell them. If you simply would like to state how Randy Luth has impacted the shooting industry, write it up. Jay
  22. BUMP==================BUMP HELP==================HELP Thanks Chuck for fixing the spelling on Sherburne. TOMORROW is the County meeting. I'm certain any and all support will be appreciated. Get those emails out, especially if you were impacted by the cancellation of DPMS TRI- GUN. Jay
  23. Jury is still out for me. I think a great shooter will overcome with what equipment he has and his experience and shooting skills will rule. What I know is that I have shot an aimpoint and an eotech side by side with my iron rifle. Granted they were my friends rifle and I was helping with sight in. I could not get near as tight of a group with the electronics at 100 yards. I would not choose one for myself. Jay
  24. I will be shooting tac-iron with with antiquated sights. I have followed the discussion and change that USPSA made and that others have used in the past. I will be interested in seeing the results. Will we have a way to determine who shot what at the end of the match. I don't need or want to know before but am interested non the less. Jay
  25. I have read and absorbed so much info from the forum as it relates to Rifle Steel. I understand the argument for a 4 MOA target as well as target backers. I know that Trapr has posted extensively on this topic. I shoot Tac-Iron. I shot a match yesterday at Holmen Wisconsin. There were 5 long range targets. Freshly painted, 2 MGM's at about 200 yards painted in White. 1 flasher at 210 painted black and a dual loli-pop at about 185 both ears painted black and some misc close paper. The berm was a lighter colored sand and the MGMs were difficult to see. The black targets however, WOW----I was able to acquired them immediately and drill them. I also spoke to the director about target backers. Black steel is the way to go. Jay
