Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. I load S&S Casting 220-grain slugs to 1.15 OAL for a Glock 24 and 35 using Solo 1000. This is my son's bowling pin load. The loads run fine, but aren't ideal - I've found it necessary to use a Lee FCD to size the case... the 220-grainers tend to create a bulge when loaded to this OAL. I believe the bullet is so deep in the case that the lower portion is ending up where the case web thickens, and expanding the cases more at that point. But there are no pressure signs and the load shoots well...
  2. I doubt you'll find many folks that have done a trigger job without the VQ stuff. The parts for the Volquartzen trigger upgrade are relatively cheap ($55) and you'll get a very good 2-lb trigger out of it with very little creep. All you need is the VQ sear, adjustable trigger, and hammer bushing. In my experience, the VQ hammer does make the trigger a touch lighter and takes out a little of the creep, but I'm not sure it's worth the extra $40.
  3. This is what happens when you use the bolt release to close the bolt with a Ruger Mark II/III. You can file the bolt stop square and it will work again, but in the future, slingshot the bolt shut and you won't have this problem.
  4. Sounds about right. 4.2 grains of S1000 with 155-grain Precisions at 1.14 OAL gets me 146 PF in a Glock 24 with a KKM barrel.
  5. Did you see the link I posted? Dawson still makes them and sells them on their website. Edit: Looks like I posted the same time as you.
  6. I was recently told Dawson NO LONGER carries the Adjustable Rear Sights for Glock and we could NOT find them on their web site ? They still have them here: http://www.dawsonprecision.com/ProductDetail.jsp?LISTID=2160000-1094593467
  7. I find the opposite to be true. The chambers on my KKM barrels are tight, but not as tight as the chamber on my LW.

    MGM beaver tail

That is awesome. How did you color the JB Weld black? It normally dries to an ugly gray color.
  9. Hi there, I recognize you from INGO. If you use a RTF 2 lower with your Glock 34 slide the frakengun will no longer be production legal for USPSA. The G-34 was never produced in RTF2. I don't know about IDPA... never tried it.
  10. I had about a 2% failure rate with the new, silver Wolf SP primers. The copper-colored ones ran without a hitch. I blamed it on the gun (it has a lightened striker spring) and sold them. I hope I didn't sell someone defective primers. I'm using Federal SPM now; bought a bunch from Grafs a couple of months ago.

    Glock Gen.4

I wonder if you can still mount a magwell? Does anyone know if the interchangeable backstraps still include a lanyard hole?
