  1. I went with the speed e rack, nice people and fast turnaround. Ordered on a Thursday and had it by Tuesday. ordered the speed beez holster the same time, hope to see it sometime next week.
  2. Blade tech doesn’t even list a holster for N frames anymore. Looks like comp tac or speed beez is the only option and I think SB is just a rebranded comp tac. Not to make this political but if our new administration gets there way revolver might make a huge comeback.
  3. Sold my rig years ago when they made 8 holes legal. Seemed like it made my 625 obsolete overnight so I stopped shooting revolver. Anyway, got a new 8 hole and wanted to start playing around again in revolver division so I need another rig. Not sure what to go with now, Had the North Mountain set up which was fine and have know problem going back to that set up. But these magnetic holders have caught my attention, Speed Beez, Double Alpha, or Speed E rack....maybe there are others that I'm missing? Saw that moon server system but think I want to stick with some kind of post setup. They seem to all be priced about the same, Double Alpha at the high end...anything I should stay away from. Wouldn't be apposed to a used setup if someone upgraded and wants to get rid of there old rig. Thanks, T
  4. Went back and got it this morning, guess paid for it would be the correct statement. In the great republic of IL you have to wait 3 days plus the state is about 8 days behind on background checks. $900 OTD with metal case, both grips. Not a steal but probably not a bad deal. T.
  5. http://calzaretta.com/scans/627pinto1s.jpg My memory is bad and I have no idea what box the rest of my notes are packed in . . . I HATE MovingI refer to this revolver as a semi-pinto. Mine has a set of adjustable LPA fiber sights on it. These were a Distributor Exclusive for AccuSport in 2004. The total number ordered was either 130 or 160. I would need to find my old notes to know with the help of the sku # I found this info of the S&w forum. If the info is correct it looks like they are kind of rare.
  6. That’s the one. I was starting to question if that’s what I really had seen. What’s the history on these? From the posted article it’s a 170294 model, rest of the info is cut off. Google search still not finding any info even with the model number. Thanks, T
  7. Its definitely not like the V comp in the above picture. it has the slab side barrel, no comp. When I checked the bore I obviously had to look down the barrel, there was not any threading, comp or cap installed. I started looking at them several years ago when they opened up revolver class to the 8 shots, sold the 625 but never went ahead and bought the 627. Kinda started looking again and ran across the one I described.
  8. It's this configuration with a 5" barrel. Frame and barrel are a black shinny stainless with a solid shinny non fluted cylinder like in the picture. not sure how to describe the finish other than it had some depth to it. not a traditional blued finish or the black matte painted look of the V comps. Slab sides of the barrel might even have been more stainless instead of black with the performance center wording a deeper black so it stood out.
  9. LGS has a 627-5 pc that I would describe as black stainless two tone. 5", bead sight, unfluted stainless cylinder, no comp. Pretty sharp looking gun! It's listed as used like new condition. It appears to be shot very little, very clean, there is not a ring on the cylinder. I have never seen this configuration, can't find any info or pictures? There holding it for me until tomorrow, wanted to see if anyone had any info. Did it come out of the performance center that way or is it someone's franken gun? Thanks, T
  10. Why not have the barrel reamed so it will chamber a longer load. Seems rather easy and Inexpensive for a competent gunsmith.
  11. No, everything was tight. Had to heat the screw on the tail end to get it loose, other end seemed just as tight. That’s the frustrating part, I can’t come up with a reason why it failed. Don’t know if I need to do something different as far a maintenance or just chalk it up as an oddball fail.
  12. Not very often, maybe a couple times since I got it. I’ll run it for a couple matches between cleaning, less than 1000 rounds through it. Pull it out, wipe down and lite re-oil. Don’t know how it failed, nothing left of the O rings except a bunch of tiny ground up pieces. Didn’t know it failed until I got home from a match, heard all the weights rattling around. my guess it probably failed on the last stage, it never stopped running. T.
  13. I use Breakfree CLP oil, used it for years on all my guns without issue. I checked the directions on the bottle, doesn’t say anything about not using on synthetic/ rubber ect. This is the first and only JP buffer I own, everything else is a traditional setup. Didn’t think I had to give it any special treatment?? I asked JP for a recommendation for oil/ lube but as I said they have not responded. If there’s something special I should be doing to maintain this buffer I’m open to suggestions. Thanks, T.
  14. It is a full jp build, bought through the ready rifle program. It came with there standard 4 mass slider. I did purchase the short stoke kit after the other failed. It is up and running again. I hope it was just a fluke, maybe one of the O rings was bad, once one goes I think the weights banging around just destroys everything else. thanks, T
  15. Has anyone had there JP buffer fail? Mine ate all the O rings, knocked the retaining ring off and chewed up the mass slider. Less than a 1000 rounds on the gun, PF 130. I know stuff fails but this seems a little premature, JP site says around 5000 rounds to replace O rings. I ordered the short stroke upgrade and it's up and running again but now I'm paranoid its going to fail again. Seems the rubber O rings are a week link in the system, seems like Delrin or some other tougher material would be more appropriate. Sent a note to JP a couple weeks ago explaining the issue and asked if there was something I should look at that may have caused the premature fail. Got a response the next day wanting the serial number so they could look up my build. Sent them the info but have not heard back since, sent 2 more follow up emails and left voice message....still nothing. Bought the JP because of there reliability and customer service, don't seem to be getting either right now. Thanks, T
  16. Thanks for the input, seems like most are in favor or like the lightened slide. I can’t get it sent out until Tuesday morning so I still have a couple days to think it over. I know I could send it back for additional milling after the optic cut but would like to send it once and pay once. Shouldn’t be this hard Those that had to have it done under the old rules would you do it now? Thanks, T
  17. The harbinger V1 &V2 is what got me second guessing having the slide lightened, looks good. but as Stmark stated If lighten is noticeably snapper I would prefer the slower impulse feel of the heavier slide. Is one way harder on the optic taking a beating. More weight coming to a stop or Is snappier harder on the optic. Going to run the SRO. Thanks, T
  18. Maybe IDPA once a year, not really my thing. as far a my level of shooting I typically run in the top 10 plus or minus overall at the locals. However I do not have any experience with CO. Can’t pickup the front sight as fast as I would like any longer so looking to make a switch. The little bit that I have run the S2 I feel that it would be okay at full weight, maybe a little top heavy? Just wanted to hear from the S2 guys if they felt there was an advantage on way or the other. Thanks, T
  19. Sending my new S2 off at the first of the week to have the slide cut for CO. Was just planning on the optic cut only but now I’m second guessing if I should have the slide lightened. I know I don’t have to since they increased the weight limit for CO. Pros cons either way? Thanks, T
  20. Lots of votes for the stoeger, I purchased a M 3000 a few months ago based on threads like this one. Extended tube, polished, extended bolt, opened the port ect..... close to 1000 rounds through it, it has NOT ran reliably since I got it. If ran hard the hammer will follow the bolt down on a live round. Very ammo type sensitive and harder recoil than gas guns. Sent back to stoeger/ benelli, tech went through it, replaced action spring, no issues when running 60 rounds. I still get a failure to fire if ran fast. The tech made a comment on the bottom of my repair sheet, "you can out run the action of the gun, it is possible to pull the trigger and have it follow the bolt forward" Do a little more research and you will find lots of the same issues with the Stoeger. Tons of folks have had great luck with them a you probably will also, just wanted to make you aware there are issues with some and maybe save you a $500 headache. Never had an issues with my jm930 or the versamax......yet. T.
  21. Thanks for the suggestions, searched Benelli click and found a couple other thing to check/polish ect.... Ordered a Benelli extractor and spring so I can hopefully rule that out? Thanks,T
  22. Spring is good, or at least it's not broke. Completely broke it down again yesterday and went through it again. Polished a couple other contact points but still couldn't find any obvious issues. Dry cycling the gun feels super smooth, nothing catching or slowing the bolt.....frustrating. Didn't get a chance to fire it yesterday. thanks.
  23. I picked up a m3000 turkey a few weeks ago after reading this entire thread. Got parts from MOA, polished/ tweaked everything based on the feedback from theses threads. Im having a problem with failure to fire a chambered round or sometimes failure to eject the empty. Mostly not firing a chambered round, 1 or 2 out of 25 usually. Hammer falls, hear next round on carrier but no bang. Bolt is closed and roated in place. Read all the threads about polishing the tube, burs on springs, cleaning the grease out, ammo that won't work, ammo that should etc...... have ran win AA, STS, federal, all 1 1/8 3 dram plus some reloads that are approaching 1400fps all have same issue. Couple other post with the same issue looking for help, didnt ever see a resolution??? Thinking about doing some minor adjusting around the fence post if I don't get this figured out....as far as break in period, I'm over 500 rounds through it. What am I missing, any suggestions??? Thanks.
  24. It apears that the other parts will fit, however I didn't pull the firing and test fit. You can order the extractor by its self, I just gambled the extra $12 for the whole kit. Figured it wouldn't hurt to have an extra firing pin. Also have a couple people that would take the CMMG pin off my hands if needed...... It apears to be a stainless steel pin vs the blue that some have mentioned come in there guns thanks,
  25. Just received the parts from CMMG after only 2 days, WOW. Brownells would be another week! Extractor is slightly different in apperance, dimensions seem to be the same. Dummy rounds seem to load and extract/eject fine. Will live fire test this weekend. Thanks,
