  1. i chronoed 4.2 grains with the 170 gn precision, i have the case length 1.125 came in at an average of 938 fps (4 inch 610 revo) which came in like 159 pf (weight x fps/1000) which isn't major i need to toy with it a bit, i would like to just develop one load for ICORE, USPSA, and IDPA and not have to deal with bringing the wrong ammo to the match... i'm looking into other powders as well
  2. ive had 5k small pistol on back order for over a month... hopefully they will come one day

i fixed the issue with a hand priming tool.... which is good cause i have over 100 Rimz clips and didn't want that to be the issue... for some reason i can't get them seated deep enough with the 550... i don't mind the extra step.
  6. Bingo. I'll betcha that'll take care of it. perfect ignition and uniform dimples in the primers

60 rounds loaded, 60 rounds fired... the extra step of hand priming solved the issue... the way i did it... resize and seat the primer on the 550, didn't index it... then popped them on the RCBS hand primer tool, shoved the primers all the way in, then removed the sizing die from the loader and load like normal.... perfect bangs everytime....
  8. im still new to this but i went ahead and bought the RCBS at a local shop for 54 bucks. tonight i seated all the primers with my 550 then hand seated them with the rcbs tool and could feel and see the difference in seating depth. I then removed my resizing die and loaded like normal.. i will see tomorrow if the extra effort was worth it.. im hoping for all bangs this time....

yeah i got a hand priming tool. today.. im hoping that the RIMZ moon clips aren't an issue... i have a lot of them... i will shoot IPSC and ICORE with it. I wasn't aware of an IDPA division that allowed such weapons... but id like to try that too....

clicky link for bigger picture still have to get my extended cylinder release installed but there she is....... isn't she a beaut thanks again Mike... and thanks for answering all my questions...
  12. i had a long talk with bubber this afternoon... everything points back to me not taking the time to really deep seat the primers... i just loaded a few more that look just like the one you provided. i can tell not all brass is created equal. these are all "deep" so i am confident that they will all create a cloud of smoke.... the gun is great.. such a smooth trigger... still having issues with the extended release latch.. it doesn't seem to seat as far down as the factory piece... bubber is going to help me fit it as soon as we can connect.. ill look into a hand primer next month... the old lady took the check book away from me till next payday....
  13. i have to work on my deep primer seating.... i had too many clicks today and not enough booms....
  14. we worked some things out so i can make ada tomorrow... see ya then....
  15. WOW.... that's all I can say about the trigger.... quality work... ill post some pictures later... man that is sweet.... i did try to install my calif. comp works cylinder release.. seems like it didn't want to work as good as the factory piece... any trick to this? or do they need to be fitted?
  16. what do you all shoot on the third weekend? I am going to Johnson city that weekened and might beable to swing in for a quick match.... *edit* i looked at the web site looks like USPSA on the third saturday... I hopefully can make that... depending on our travel time... can an RV get into the range?
  17. yeah sadly im having a hard time finding federal primers, i have a few thousand of them... i have a lot of back order in several places... hopefully the dam will break and we can get them again....
  18. me and a drill press.... i can see me really screwing that up...... me "running" was the wife telling me to get in there to watch the movie.... BTW Taken was pretty good... lots of killing... for a good reason
  19. well i finally had the nerve to take the new 4 inch 610 out for a spin last saturday. I was impressed with the gun, not so impressed with me... of course i had just got the north mountain moon clip holder in just days before and hadn't practiced reloading or drawing or any of those meaningless things... but i had fun with it.. round 40's i noticed that billy bullets has a 180 grain round nosed .40 sw that im going to try out, that is the only place that i have found them so far. cylinder release latch I also ordered a california competition latch release at the recommendation of bubber, i looked hard at that one and the hogue but i think the way I hold the gun the CCW will fit me better... if not there is always the classifieds... MIM trigger? while crisp, what is the best way to lighten the load a smidge? bobbing the hammer. is this a do it myself project or do i need to have someone do it? also I wouldn't mind a chamfering the charge holes a bit... i would like to clarify these q's a bit but i gotta run... Chris
