  1. Do the rumors cover what it will be? Factory Gun, Open, Limited, all of the above choose one gun?
  2. There a various hints on several web sites that one form or another of the USPSA Nationals for 2004 will be in Florida. Does anybody have any good information?
  3. I thought the DQ for engaging steel targets beyond a designated point had been dropped! If there is a safety issue a physical barrier is supposed to prevent encroachment?
  4. Vince Thanks for the e-mail on the other thread Suggestions on Junior and related category Same comments I have made previously Junior category should be for those aged 17 or under and ceases on the shooters 18th birthday. Law and Military category should only apply if the competitor uses a duty rig and firearm. Drop Super Senior and move start of Senior Category to 60.
  5. The big challenge, as Vince noted, with these types of props is satisfying rule 4.5.1 - ensuring that the targets present themselves to all competitors in the same way - I have seen Texas Stars with the mounting points and plates numbered so that they always a replaced in the same locations to try to satisfy this rule.
  6. For a full technical specification take a look at http://www.interstateplastics.com/meta/fmdel.htm
  7. Back to my earlier post - the interim results after day 1 have Todd J as a DNF on Stage 11, is this an error?
  8. What's with the DNFs reported at the end of day 1 - 3 on stage 1, and 1 each on stages 10 and 11. I didn't think there was any such thing as a DNF anymore!
  9. Eric G has a GM classification in Open even though he only has 3 scores recorded and no official percentage.
  10. As well as the other bits you have been told about like the Arredondo replacement for the muzzel cup there is a spacer kit available which moves the rig out from your body about 1/2-inch which might help to overcome the problem of it rubbing against your leg.
  11. Actually I thought Sabre were from Nashville TN!
  12. Re CM 99-54, as you noted back in February in another thread, this is a classifier that doesn't seem to be shot very often but the times are generous and with care percentages well above 80 are quite easy to achieve even for B class shooters.
  13. Don't waste money on a single stage press - if you are going to be reloading any amount you will soon discover that a progressive is the only way to go and that Dillon is THE machine. There is a reloading video available on this site which might be a good way to start if you can't find somebody to work with.
  14. Have you considered - Para LDA /SSP/Production? Better trigger? than the Glock, more like a 1911 not plastic!
  15. Thread drift - but adding to Wakal's comment - I agree that the age limit for Junior needs to be reduced, I would suggest that on reaching your 18th birthday you are no longer a Junior, similarly with Senior and Super Senior I would suggest dropping Super Senior and moving the Senior category to cover those who have reached their 60th birthday. Law and Military should go as well unless the competitors are using their duty rig and issued firearms.
  16. Less than one third of those who have responded to the poll shoot Stock Service Pistol - am I the only one who thinks this strange for a group (IDPA) who are supposed to be back to basics?
  17. Renee Tyson was only 17 points behind Lisa at FGN!
  18. If we need to reduce the number of divisions why not drop revolver - there were maybe 19 revolver shooters entered at the 2002 FGNs and 15 this year - doesn't look like its a big draw!
  19. So, for the rest of us - when are you going to update the files?
  20. I carry the pistols in a hard sided lockable case with a combination lock - the procedure Continental use is for the ticket agent to ask that the guns are shown to be unloaded, then you sign off the orange tag and place it in the case with the guns - depending on the location of the TSA X-ray machine or hand-search area the ticket agent takes the checked bag to the TSA or just hands it over if they are near enough, sometimes the TSA agents want to look at the guns themselves, sometimes they don't, I just ask them to spin the combination once they are finished. The ammunition just needs to be in containers of the same type as the original manufacturers with dividers that prevent individual rounds coming into contact with each other - I use old boxes out of the trash at the range - then throw them away as I use them at the match.
  21. My experience is limited to Continental Airlines out of Houston - on the trips I have taken my guns this year to Orlando and Charleston the Continental ground staff at Houston and both the other airports were efficient, knowledgeable and helpful. The TSA personnel are fine particularly if you leave them with the impression that you "do this all the time". One interesting detail of the rules concerning ammunition - the allowance ( which actually has never been checked in my own case) is 11# per checked firearm so in my case shooting 40 limited - I throw in a 40 Keltec and can legitimately carry up to 22# of ammunition - 11#equates to just about 250 rounds of 200 grain 40's plus packageing which is usually not quite enough for a big match but 500 is fine. Just go for it! the more of us who transport our guns to matches by air the easier it ought to get.
