Highly recommend that you check out the BUL armory 1911s and 2011s. They make an awesome 2011 for EDC which I never would have expected.

One way to unload them is to smack the front edge of the magazine against a wooden table top. With the right wrist action it dislodges the top bullet and does no harm to the magazine.

We shoot 7 stages at our monthly match, which includes two classifiers. Round count is generally in the 160-180 range.

I've been using Remington's UMC 147 gr bullets and they are noticeably softer shooting. They are periodically hard to find (I'm guessing Remington does intermittent runs during the year), but they are my bullet of choice these days. Even shoots well out of a S&W Shield for a BUG match

A couple reasons for the delay. I post to practiscore immediately after the match. However, before I upload to USPSA, I give the competitors a couple days to check their scores for errors (eg minor or major issues, pending USPSA numbers, etc) and I have to delete shooters who registered but did not shoot. The slight delay minimizes the need to re-uploaded scores.

I had the same problem. Easily fixed. Remove slide, run a flat file up inside the mag well. There are plastic "ribs" on both sides of the mag well. Run the file on those ribs for just a couple strokes (plastic comes off quickly), should fix the problem. If not, repeat judiciously.

I'm in the other school that likes it. Working with it has improved my trigger control, gives me immediate feedback on different grip variations, and has primarily helped me eliminate/reduce the fault I had of tightening the grip/jerking the muzzle down. I highly recommend it. I have let numerous other shooters try it out and have observed that better shooters have much better trigger control, and that that skill/level of achievement is attainable with the immediate feedback that the MantisX provides. My accuracy has already improved with just a couple weeks of challenging and enjoyable practice.

Sig 226 base pads can be used to replace the factory base pads.

Everything works well. I might try a lighter recoil spring but not a big need at this time.

Played with one at the SHOT Show. Felt very nice - with the recoil system in front of the trigger guard, it sits low in the hand. Don't know what the street price will be but the MSRP is in the $1100+ range.

Ended up going with a 15 lb Glock gen 4 recoil spring with the adaptor cup. Cost $22. Works great. Also replaced the striker spring. Not a huge reduction in the trigger weight, less than 8 oz., however have put less than 500 rounds through it. Will check it again after 2000 rounds.

I'm trying out CO using a Canik Tp9Sfx with a Vortex red dot. Total cost to try it. out about $650, already had a Safariland holster that fit it well. I may upgrade the holster at a later date if I stick with the division. The trigger is fine out of the box, though I'm used to a crisp 1911. I agree the recoil spring is too heavy from the factory - it did not like soft 147 loads at all. Remington 147s - no problem. I'm hoping Springer Precision makes a guide rod for it soon to allow use of 1911 recoil springs. At the range had no problem with factory loads. Did not have much a learning curve on picking uo the red dot quickly. I'm looking forward to shooting some matches with it starting in December.

Let me make this clear - we have NEVER turned anyone away from a monthly club match due to "max" capacity. If you show up on time Saturday morning, you will shoot.

I can not find any discussion regarding this so let me put the question out there - Are there any plans for CZ to market a Shadow II with a removable plate (similar to the Sig 320 x5 and and the Glock M.O.S models) to make it easy, not to mention legal, to jump back forth between Production and Carry Optics? Thanks. I have contemplating going the Sig 320 X5 but I like a heavy gun.

Is that a RHT holster hanger? I don't see that style on their website?

I have a stage at our match where the shooters may decide to engage a target though a port while standing 8+ feet away from the port, which is somewhat narrow. I am planning on putting no-shoots on both sides of the port. Would it be legal to cut a no-shoot target in half lengthwise, draw a border along the cut line on both halves, and attach each half its respective side of the port? I know you can not cut a hole in the middle of a no-shoot, but I can not find any thing in the book that specifically excludes this practice.

I guess this begs the question: What is the definition of a heavy barrel? Is this another shadow IDPA term that is ill-defined or based on the whim of HQ?

Not sure how you are coming to that conclusion. The IDPA Rule book (as currently written) excludes CDP guns with "cone barrel" over 4.25 inches; however for SSP there is no such exclusion or language regarding a cone barrel (the term "Bull Barrel" is not anywhere in the rule book) . I conclude that if it fits in the box and makes weight, the X-5 would be legal for SSP.
