  1. The Shadow is a fantastic gun. I own two myself and I just love them. The sights and the trigger are awesome out of the box and the gun is just so well balanced, it feels like there is no recoil at all. But still, you can't go wrong with any of the CZs you have mentionned.
  2. Open: Max with KC and Chris close behind Limited: Travis and Todd close behind Production: Sevigny followed by Vogel Limited 10: TGO followed by Michael Burrell (Sorry couldn't resist, I had to put a Canadian guy in my list ) Revolver: Jerry
  3. Yep, a big thanks to the match organizers and all those who helped to put on a verry nice match. We were 4 shooters from Quebec(Canada) making the trip and we had a lot of fun. For my part, it was my first USPSA match and I must say that I am really impressed with the quality of the stages. It's a lot different from what we are used to here in Canada. Closer targets but much more tactical type of match and a lot of partials/no-shoots.There was also a lot of different ways to shoot the stages and that was really fun. Unfortunately, my slide-stop broke on my very first stage so I pretty much zeroed a 24 rounds stage ! Nice way to start my first USPSA match! But other than that, everything about this match was positive. Thanks guys! I'm already looking forward into next year's match but first, Area 8. JP.
  4. Ahahaha! Nice stuff !When I clean my gun and disassemble it completely(i.e taking off the extractor ), I always shoot a few rounds with it in practice before the match so I'm sure everything works well. And before major matches, I clean it the day before my last practice session before the match. At least you have learned a valuable lesson.
  5. Unfortunatelly, Higginson is out of WSP to. That's where I usually buy them. So far, from what I have been told, that doesn't seem to make any difference at all. I'll probably buy a 1000 first, chrono them and see if it makes any difference. If not, I'll probably buy a few untill I can find some WSP pimers again. Thanks for your help guys, JP.
  6. Hey guys, I've been reloading 9mm with the same load for a while now but it seems that I just can't find Winchester Small Pistol primers anywhere anymore(I'm in Quebec, Canada by the way). However, I found a place where I could get plenty of Federal 100 small pistol primers for a good price. I was wondering if changing primers would make a big difference and if so, how will it make a diference? My actual load in my CZ Shadow is: -5.3 grains of Long Shot powder; -124gr Cam-Pro round nose bullet; -Winchester Small Pistol primers; -OAL 1.130 Average speed is 1080 ft/seconds for a 133-135 power factor. Also, will that change my power factor in any way or will it still be the same? Thanks for your help, JP.
  7. Thanks for the infos guys. That's a good new. The 10 rounds limitation makes no difference to me since we have a ten rounds mag limit here in Canada.
  8. Hey guys, I'm an IPSC shooter from Quebec and I plan to shoot USPSA this summer. I shoot production in Quebec and I'll be shooting production as well in USPSA. I recently bought a Bladetech holster because I heard that race holsters were not allowed for production class in USPSA. I find that the holster is a bit to low so what I'd like to know is would it be legal for production to drill three new holes in the holster to make it higher? In fact, I already did it and I'm use to it now but I was wondering if I have to go back to the original setup of the holster. Thanks for your help.
  9. I also suggest that you get the stainless steel mag break from CZ Custom if you don't already have one. I use one in mine and it helps a lot. Definitely worth the 10$.
  10. Thanks for the infos and comments guys. I trully appreciate. I switched back to the red fiber optic instead of the green. I think that I was shooting more A's when I was using the red fiber optic so I decided to give it a try. I went to the range today and I did shoot more A's but I can not say for sure if it's because of the red fiber optic. However, I'm pretty sure that red is better for me so I guess I'll stick with that. Now, some of you guys mentionned that I should use the top of the front sight for the longer/harder shots. I tried it tonight and it works well. With practice, this could help me to get better hits at longer/harder target. Thanks for the tips. I will also try to paint my FO in black and see how it works for me. If it makes a difference, I might get a full front sight and give it a try. Finally, some of you has suggested that I get a thinner FO front sight. I shoot a CZ Shadow as I mentionned in the first post and it has the same FO has when I got it out of the box. So, I currently use a 1.5m FO front sight. I saw on CZ Custom shop that there was also a 1.0m model for the Shadow and it says that it's the one that Angus suggest. Would that make a difference? And does anyone know if I have to get the 5.5mm one or the 6.5mm( I did not change the rear sight on my Shadow)? Thanks for the help.
  11. Hey guys, first post on this forum. I've been doing a lot of reading and found some valuable infos here. However, I could not find any answer to my question: Can shooting with fiber optics front sight decrease your accuracy? Let me explain. I think that the more I'm shooting my Shadow, the more I tend to use the fiber optic front sight as a red dot as in an Open gun but it's obviously not the same thing. I don't focuss on my sights as much and I end up getting more C's and D's(and Mikes of course). I spoke with a good shooter this summer who is shooting a Shadow just like I do in Production and he told me that he switched back to standard front sight on his gun because he realised that he was shooting less A's with his fiber optic sight. I'm pretty sure that it is faster for target acquisition but what I'm wondering is if it's less accurate. So, can shooting fiber optics front sight decrease your accuracy? Any thoughts or comments would be appreciated. And does anyone knows what kind of sights are the top shooters are using in Limited and Production? That could be a usefull info. Thanks for the help.
