  1. I have cadet sized hands myself, there's a technique called repeated muscle repetition. Still working on it myself . aka lots of dry fire, but I would work in some live fire as well because you want to validate that you are indexing the gun correctly as well, which is hard to validate with simple dry fire itself. It makes sure you are practicing correctly. A drill I have used is using a target at 7 yards away, fire 2 shots, reload fire 2 shots. Or 1 shot, reload 1 shot. Fast enough to get an alpha, while maintaining a smooth reload. Some video of that drill I did. Thanks for the link. I have been watching and reading as much as possible. I think some of this stuff will come to me over time.
  2. The trouble is reastablishing a proper grip while seating a fresh mag. I can do it if I go slowly but was just wondering how others overcome it. I think that it will come to me over time. I have only shot one match so I am brand new to this stuff. I may be trying to learn to much at one time.
  3. I am shooting a Glock 17 and I have small hands. I have been working on my reloads but am having trouble reestablishing a proper grip while reloading. I am just wondering if this is something that will work itself out or if there is some tricks I can use to improve?
  4. I have also wondered about this. I will shoot in my first match Sunday. The guy that got me interested in shooting matches dryfires on hour every day. He also has been known to shoot 300 rounds a day. Since I am a new shooter who has not yet shot in a match, I have just been drawing and dry firing about 20 minutes a day and shooting about 100 rounds a week. Does everyone first just work on fundementals or is it ok to mix it up a little.
  5. Shirley, you must be joking. There are TWO flavors of G21SF? Is the standard, non-ambi mag catch 21SF a LE-issue only gun or do I just not frequent the right gun stores? Thanks! Eric P.S. I'm searching and finding bupkus.... I work in a gun store. My distibutors tell me that there is a 21SF with a standard rail and without the Pic rail but I have yet to see one. I own the SF with the Pic rail and love it. I just wish Blackhawk would make a Sepra to carry it in.
  6. I am brand new to competitive shooting. I agree with you about Martial Artist. I have trained in several different martial arts and each one of them often exposes the strengths and weaknesses of the others. Since I am new to the sport I am trying to learn as much as possible about the game of shooting. I would always switch martial arts when I felt that my training had reached a leveling off point. I think if you have reached a point where you feel your training has reached a point where it has leveled of maybe one of these classes could help.
