    G 35

I will make changes slow over the off season. Probably a Vanek Classic trigger or one of the ones from Shooters Connection (Glock Trigger Challenger) that is still production legal and then change the sights. The barrel change will only be for if I decide to put lead through the gun.

I am sure that any questions I have will be answered by a quick search.

Still trying to figure out what the running in traffic is about.

    G 35

I just picked up a 35 with a set of Trijicons for a good price and have 6 mags total for it. I will see how it works out tomorrow in a match ( I know I should probably shoot it first but what the H*** ).

I will most likely just use it to mess around in production with an occasional L10. My primary comp gun is an sv open and my Limited is an Old P14. If I like the 35 enough I just may not buy the new 2011 limited and just trick out the 35 with a trigger and magwell and maybe a barrel.

I look forward to reading your posts and searching for the simplest mods that work w/o sacrificing that famous reliability.

    Type to you guys later.

I think it will be used as a classifier.

  2. The shooter that did DQ did stay around for the next 4 stages to tape, reset, and paint with the squad. I respect him very much for it.

I have no problem with someone leaving after they DQ. We all sacrifice time away from our families to do this and if it happens to me at a match, especially local, I will go home and have fun with my daughter instead of basically working at the range and getting pissed at myself for the DQ. If I was away at the Nationals and my family wasn't there I would volunteer to help out for the rest of the match. OK maybe not in Vegas

  3. I disagree.

The last time I ordered from them I had the package at my door in 3 days. I never really had time to build up that anticipation time to get all excited about the goodies I had ordered. I almost felt robbed.

If course I am just kidding. There service has always been top notch with me and the shipping is prompt.

  4. I remember I made much better improvements when I started shooting less rounds in practice. I use to do 4-500 rounds and when I limited it to 2-300 I found I was not shooting just to shoot but stayed focused and was not looking at the clock like I couldn't wait to leave the range.

  5. I have a MK9 that is my carry gun. Never had a problem with it and it shoots to point of aim as long as I do not put too much trigger finger in it. I have had it for almost 10 years now and have no intention of getting rid of it.

  6. I'm at 7.3grns of IMR 7625 behind a 124grn JHP from MG. I am shooting a STI TruBor Don't know what the exact PF is but I do know it's over 165!

You really should chrono it before you just go using someones data for 7625. I have three different lots in my house right now and they are all varied for a 170 pf from 7.1 grains to 7.9 all in a 5.5 inch barrel with no popple holes.

Right now my load is VVN350 7.9 grains 124 mg jhp @ 1.243oal. Not as soft as the 7625 but a little more predictable dot movement. 7625 is probably the cleanest powder I have ever used in my open gun but the 350 is pretty clean as well.

  7. I have orderred the Brazos Trigger Kit. I spoke for awhile with a Reputable Smith and he said it might be my trigger. I have to take it out and look at it. It is the SVI interchangeable. He also said that since I now have some wear on the sear, even though it is only in the middle, that I will need a trigger job sooner rather than later.

I will look at my trigger and see if it is cracked or broken in any way and install the Brazos trigger group. I will go through the safety checks and ensure that it operates properly and if not I still have time to send it out before my Area Match.

The hammer is the Koenig hammer but it has never given me a problem since it was built in 1999.

    Thank again for the replies.

  8. I backed the overtravel out a full turn and the problem is still there. I now have lots of overtravel after the hammer drops If I let the slide drop on an empty chamber the hammer stays fully cocked. Could it be the disconector??? Whatever it is it is now hapening more that I have cleaned everything twice and dryfired it countless times.

The sear is now starting to see wear in the middle. Probably from the countless locks into halfcock.

  9. I tried a search and did not or could not find a a similar problem.

Mo open gun(SV)is occasionally going to halfcock when I pull the trigger. It does it in live and dry fire.

I checked the grip safety, which is deactivated. I pushed in on the bottom and pulled up on the top and would get the problem.

I checked my safety. I would engage the safety and pull the trigger. If I kept the trigger at that point and flip the safety down the hammer will not fall. If I keep tension on the trigger and flip the safety off the hammer will fall.

I took the action apart and cleaned it. I do not see any weird wear marks on the sear or hammer hooks. all the cuts seam to be fine.

The trigger was set just over 2 pounds but is over 10 years old.

I still get the problem occasionally. There is no decent gunsmith in the area that I know of.

Is the sear going? Should I get a drop in kit? Anyone ever have this issue and what was the cause?

  10. I really hate it when there is someone new that asks a question and the response is "The search button is your friend". It just comes off rude to me and if I was new and got that response I would not stick around for long.

If we should do a search everytime we have a question then there is no reason to even have this forum anymore. It can just be archived due to the fact that just about any and all advice, good or bad, that can be given is most likely posted somewhere in this forum.

Anyone that has trained people for anything can tell you that you can say the same thing 10 different ways but they will not all be understood by the trainee. They might sort of get it with a few, be completely lost on a few, and have that "Oh!" moment on one where they understand completely. Let them ask their questions so that maybe someone can phrase it in a way that they will just get it.
