  1. What are you shooting? 38 super, 9mm, 40 cal? I am not overly impressed for the price of these "tuned" mags. I had some problems with cold weather and have not had time to shoot outdoors much lately. They seem to work well at the indoor range, but I am wondering if there are problems. I had one go salt shaker on me, but again, that was in cold weather. I am using them for 9mm Major.
  2. I hear you, 9mm Major finally really started taking over in Minnesota and I finally got on that band wagon. I am SO happy I did. I buy bulk 9mm from a few really good sources and I don't pick up brass at a match, I pick it up at the indoor range since its easy.
  3. I second the shooters connection bag, holds up great and carries a ton, but if you are thinking about 3gun, you might want to have a couple smaller ones to separate things unless you have a stroller.
  4. I used longshot with 38 super with good results so I have a ton and have been using it for 9mm Major with success but have not had the load over a chrono. What is your load data for your load? Mine is: 9mm Major 7.7 grs. Longshot 124gr MGB JHP
  5. Mine is running well now with around 800 rounds through it. I was running it wet at an indoor range to test cycling and mags. The last 200 rounds have been fine. I will compete with it, still need to chrono my loads too. Anybody using Longshot and have a recipe? Loading them longer with no spacers or shorter with spacers?
  6. I prefer 38 super because I started shooting that and lived in an area where brassing was part of the stage work and someone brassed for you while you checked your targets. That is not the same where I live now and I got tired of hunting brass all the time. I switched to 9mm major and now that its not in the back of my mind, I am shooting a ton more and practicing more. I will leave it to people with more expertise than me about the technical aspects of the rounds. I would have to say that I would suspect you are stressing the brass more in 9mm major than 38 super but without data to back that up, that is just a guess.
  7. My question is along the same lines but when considering it for a range toy in 10mm. Looking at the extreme but thinking the Hunter might be a good choice too. Has anyone shot these two guns side by side?
  8. I put the aftec in my DVC, shooting 9mm Major and it is cycling better, still need to break in the aftec and have not had a chance to get to the range again. Keep the updates coming, I love my STI DVC, can't wait until the first spring shoot.
  9. Totally agree, Midway used to be my goto place to buy and the birthday deals and other specials were actually good, some new marketing person sold them a bill of goods and I only buy there when I cannot find something anywhere else!
  10. STI DVC: Longshot powder 7.8 grains 124gr JHP MGB OAL: 1.160 My OAL length has gone from a short 1.150 to 1.175 (too long for my mags) down to 1.160. I was reading on forums and of course its gun specific, that the longer bullets worked well without shims, I did not find that correct. I have since purchased the MBX magazines to test and they did not like the the 1.175 OAL. I have not had a chance to chrono this load yet.
  11. Top 1/3 way down in front slight angle and bottom 2/3 opposite angle making a bit of a point where the two meet. The aftec isn't hard to remove just be careful you don't loose the spring and spring holder when you push it out Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Bought and installed the Aftec in my STI DVC, had to modify the back stop a little to get it to fit the Aftec. Have not tested it at the range yet, but it does hold the brass better than the original extractor. If this does not take care of the problem, I will get the ejector.
  12. I like the velcro idea, that's better then my peg board hangers and will give me more room. I am hitting the craft shop this weekend. Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk
  13. Always like it when the sun comes out to warm things up in Minnesota!
  14. Would like to see a picture of a case with the powder in it, trying to get a feel for loading 9 Major. Thanks.
  15. Still looking for case pictures with 9 Major powder loads in them. Here is 7.4grs of Longshot. I will be increasing this to 7.5 to test a stove pipe issue.
  16. Wow, that is a nice driver. I have heard good things about them and that it is a good job to have within UPS and people compete for those positions.
  17. I like it and will add it to my routine. When I pack the car and am ready to go, I imagine myself at a stage and the RO saying "Make Ready" . Like I said yesterday, I am adding this to my routine.
  18. LOL, I hear ya and my squad from the last match, was that squad because these guys could not figure out the pads for scoring, not sure I am enjoying the electronic pad scoring, I do not get the scores much faster and they are prone to failure.
  19. I have the STI Steel Master. I will check Dawson today order one. You have mentioned ISMI springs on other posts Eric, I have been hearing about them more and more. I was a big Wolff fan for many years but have not bought a new spring in awhile. How often do you replace those? Just number of rounds or age too?
  20. OK, best place to buy them from or is the price fixed?
