Time Again for Linea de Fuego's Fifth Saturday of APRIL ALL STEEL MATCH!
Pistol shooters, shotgun shooters, .22 shooters - come join us this Fifth Saturday, April 30th 2016, for an all steel USPSA-style match. This is a great match for shooters in any of the competitive disciplines - USPSA, IDPA, ICORE, Police, Cowboy, etc.We allow .22s (pistol and rifle) for this match so bring the kids or a new shooter along. The match consists of seven USPSA style stages using only steel targets and the usual USPSA props (barricades, barrels, ports, etc.). If it's made of steel we shoot it - pepper poppers, round and square plates, movers, swingers, plate racks, Texas stars, and more. Round count is typically around 170, but bring lots of ammo as steel is unforgiving. We recognize all USPSA pistol divisions, as well as both .22 pistol or rifle and shotgun (sorry, no magnums or .223).The round count will be between 22-24 per stage. Please bring extra ammo!Get there early and sign up in your favorite squad.Squadding is mandatory!Because of the large turnout we will start registration and mandatory squadding at 7:15 AM.Limited to the first 150 shooters.Shooter's Meeting at 7:50 and First Shots Down Range at 8 AM.Match fee is $40 for the non-members and $30 for LdF members. We have a vendor who will have food and drink available for purchase at the range.Your support of the food vendor will help ensure that they continue to return for future matches.:grilling:If you're not planning to purchase food or drink you should bring something to drink as there is no running water at the range.Match info:Directions to the range:New shooter info:Bring at least 4-5 magazines, & holster if you have them, if not you may be able to use one of theother shooters magazines, or someone in your squad can reload the empty ones and hand them backto you while you’re shooting. Please NO Shotgun Slugs (Birdshot only)NO Magnum Pistol CalibersNO Rifle Caliber Pistols (.223 etc.)PISTOL Caliber CARBINES are WELCOME!! -

I've always started AM PM AM the last ten years or so.
The biggest change is not having a lunch break before the last morning stage.
I'll have more time for the vendor tent with the new arrangement.

Stage diagrams never match reality.
[emoji379]The only thing you can count on is the round count. [emoji379]
Even the start position may be different when you get there.

Let me know if Tarkeg doesn't have one.
I may have one down by TJ.

I have the same astigmatism problems.
An etched reticle is the only solution like a Vortex Spitfire for 1x.

Every 5th Saturday we have an all steel match. Probably 1/4 of the competitors shoot 2 guns.
They pay twice and 2 "slots" are assigned that squad.
It all evens out.
More money for the club and more shooting for those who want to.
Win-win all around.
Most 2nd guns are carbines or shotguns. (We make the shotguns shoot last in the squad so we can repaint for the next squad).

My bolt sled pin broke during a match and locked it up solid. If u contact FN they will send you the new updated one piece sled free of charge.
How do you contact FN for SLP parts?
I've only been able to contact Winchester for SX2 parts for my SLP.

I just bought another one. $1313.10 shipping included, I used a discount code from Rob Romero (Optics Planet). At that price I don't think it can be beat.
What mount do you use/recommend?

A long time ago I used a Speedlock Systems "Slipgrip" for Highpower competition it added about 3/4" rearward distance to any AR grip.
May still be available from David Tubbs web store.
Checked the Tubb store no "Slipgrip" but he has

They have been on every time I've headed out for at least the last 6 months at least.
Thanks for the info I seem to recall the Match Director retiring and no one knew back then if they would start up again.

I use an original Deltapoint with the big triangle because it is crisply delineated to my astimagtized eyes.
Can anyone (with astigmatism) report on how sharp the dot is?
All the other reflex dots I've tried look like oblong blobs.
I use a Vortex Spitfire (etched reticle) on my 3 gun rifle for this same reason.

So I shot the steel match tonight at Phx Rod & Gun. Awesome experience. The staff was extremely welcoming and helpful. Stages were laid out well and were fun. I'll definitely be going back next week.
Are the Thursday night steel matches back on?
When I come out from San Diego for Area 2 I've always gone to PR&G Thursday night steel for a last practice but it was cancelled last March 5th.
Looking to go there before WSSSC in November.

Glad this topic came up. I was planning on getting my CORE slide cerakoted to match my cool TT titanium blue base pads.
How long should I let it soak before taking it to the shop?
