Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. Picked up my new M2 Tactical today and when I got it home the spring went flying out of the tube and whatever was holding it on is lost somewhere in my basement. This is my first Benelli and I'm not sure what the front of the tube should look like, and what parts would be between the end of the spring and the end of the tube. Could it be that I was missing something to begin with? Any guidance/pictures would be MOST appreciated!
  2. I guess my 16" upper would probably make more sense if the distances are past 100 yards. I was hoping to get away with the 10.5" since it's quite a bit lighter.
  3. I've got a bad shoulder and am trying to minimize the recoil from my Mossberg 930 SPX during steel plate & 3-gun competitions. Any specific recommendations for ammo that would help me out? Most of the steel matches in my area state #6 or smaller on the birdshot.
  4. Forgive my ignorance, but where can I find an easily digested explanation of divisions, power factors, etc. so that I can figure out where I'd likely end up? Right now here's what I'll likely be shooting: Pistol: S&W M&P 9L (5" slide) Shotgun: Mossberg 930SPX 18" Rifle: AR to be determined Thanks! John
  5. Just getting into the 3-gun thing and wondering if my 10.5" upper is too short to be effective at a 3-gun match? Thanks!
  6. Is illumination all that important for typical 3-gun matches, or could I get away with the MKIV without it and save a couple hundred bucks?
  7. Let me throw another wrench into the works...most of the 3-gun matches in my area are likely to be 100 yards or closer. Is it even worth going with a variable power scope for the outside distances or just stick with my EOTech for it all?
  8. I'm in New England, but like most other ranges, the pits are lined with sand/dirt. My concern is that the amber would get lost in the dirt and/or cardboard color.
  9. I'm trying to decide between the red or amber Trijicon "dot" for my Accupoint scope that will be used in 3-gun competitions and general range use. I've read that Trijicon says the amber is more visible, but I seem to recall some people saying the amber isn't as visible against cardboard targets. Any thoughts as to whether one is REALLY better than the other? Thanks!
