  2. I have heard a lot of open shooters that said the same thing as well. But how does it shoot, recoil, the feel compare to other open guns that you've shot before? If I have all the money in the world I will buy SVI the company.
  3. I've been contemplating on getting the new SVI IMM open gun. I know that it takes about 12-15 months to get it build but I'm not in a hurry. I have shot several open guns from several gunsmiths/builders and while I have enjoyed and liked shooting some of them. My itch to get an SVI pistol just wouldn't stop. I guess, I just want to get more feedbacks/review from people that has or had an SV IMM. I tried to do a search and there's not much out there. Thanks in advance.
  4. Match Hosted by generationpracticalshooters, range by Area59. It sure was a fun match, maybe they should do it twice a year. lol
  5. It was a fun stage but not so much for the open shooters, some of em got shrapnel/splinters from gas hitting seat cover.
  6. I just watched all your vids from OFC, and man do I have a lot to learn. The way you executed the stages was just smooth and it flows. Some of the stages I ran exactly you did but with an added 5-10 secs . I may have to re-read all your post/blogs specially the stage break down to learn more. I'll see you at the range next time. Grabbing second behind Manny a big win no matter what. Congrats.
  7. Lucky for him there were a bunch of people around who were experienced enough to help him out. I remember hearing something similar to that story, but sadly, the guy was in the range by himself, he died from blood loss. My son gets bad nose bleeds every now and then, and I used cut up tampons to plug his nose, works all the time. I may have to add that to my basic med kit in my range bag.
  8. I tried shooting production but reloading a few mags every stage just wasn't my game. Shoot limited and you'll be ok.
  9. I haven't taken a RO class, maybe someday, and I have RO'd shooters at our local club many time where they incurred this type of situation. I usually just restart them but this would be a good way to remember the rule.
  10. You can't beat that price. Local gunstore has 2 stock III for sale, priced @ $1500.00. I remember when I got my unicorn for 799.00, Those were the days. lol
  11. I loaded some with 200gr and 165gr Xtremes last night hoping to get it chronoed today but it doesn't look like it'll happen. I'll see if I can get it chronoed Tom. Engineereli: kindly post your findings when you can. The more comparison the better. Thanks.
  12. Cherryriver, You've mention the weather often in regards to shooting using red dot. Are Red Dot powder temperature sensitive? I was just curious because I have been using Win WST for awhile and just finished an 8lb jug. Now this powder, for me, was really inverse temp sensitive. The difference was very noticeable when I had my ammo sitting in the sun vs on a cool cloudy day. Hoping Red Dot is not the same as WST at all.

    Slide Cuts

I have seen Zevs and Salient Arms slide cuts and they are great, but besides those two co., does anyone know or have sent their slide to other co. to get slide cuts? Hoping to get one done and hoping not have to wait awhile. Let me know, Thanks.
  14. Anyone wants to switch from squad 2 to 3 or vice versa pls let me know (Saturday sched). Buddy and I would like to squad together. Thanks.
  15. Has anyone compared the hipertouch 24c vs the Wilson TTU-3G?
  16. That's one blinged out trigger bar. ... I did the exact same thing and it did help. And also to make sure to mirror shine the plunger as well if you haven't yet. Kneelingatlas - did you ever get a roller plunger? having a roller plunger is like night and day.
  17. I converted my stock 2 to a SA and the only thing I had to do was installed a SA trigger, and removed the interruptor. I had no idea that the DA/SA trigger bar was different than the SA one when I converted the gun to SA. I noticed the problem was fitting the return spring in, since it is not angled, so I diced to cut off the leg of spring instead. The SA trigger worked perfectly with not issues at all. This way I was able to go between limited and production without any major mods. I did however had to get another triger return spring to convert back to DA/SA because It was too short. Which was an easy by getting a dedicated limited gun.
  18. Hope this showdown is going to be video taped. That would be fun to watch.
  19. Been meaning to get a couple for my prod setup. Stoeger pads adds bling and cheaper than Hennings.
  20. Does the Stock II run on regular factory ammo like Winchester white box? Does it like regular factory length loads or do you have to load long to make it run? - With the new mag you can run it factory lenght or however long you can the magazine allows you. Tried WWB and worked fine. Kneelingatlas is right tho as WWB tend to be a littler hotter compare to reloading minor loads taylor to your gun. Does anyone make basepads & mag springs that will fit the 140mm mag guage, run reliablly and increase capacity? - Henning's extended basepads and spring combo runs great, which i get 20 rnds and 19 reloadable and runs reliable. Does anyone make a fixed sight set for the Stock II? - As far as I know Henningshop sells the fixed sight set. What does everyone use for a USPSA production legal holster and magazine pouches? - I use Bladetech DOH holster for production and limited and crspeed mag pouches. I haven't had a chance to try any other holster or mag pouches because both have worked well. Would the EAA .22 conversion kit work on the Stock II? If it does, will the conversion kit fit in a regular Stock II holster when installed on the gun? I figured this would make cheap practice. - I know some have ammo availabilty issues, but for me I usually practice the same ammo I shoot for local and big matches. It does not make sense for me to practice on something I'm not going to shoot in a match with. just my .02 C. Would the EAA Limited Pro be a better choice then the Stock II for a single gun for both production and limited division? - I never had an opportunity to shoot the pro so i can't really compare the two. I do have shot a short dust vs long dust 2011's before and have always like the way the short dust feels. I guess to each his own. Roughly about 3 months ago, I acquired a tanfo limited and have been shooting that since then. 2 weeks ago while shooting a local match on a classifier stage, the FO front sight flew off (gave me a legitimate reason to screw up a classifier ) and got lost. So I shot the rest of the match using my stock 2, and to be honest, I just love the balance of the stock 2 compare with the Limited. Again to each his own. Just pick one and just shoot the crap out it.
  21. Very good points in regards of the recoil factor. i was dead set on the compact in 40, just because I compete in limited 40maj and production 40min and I didn't think about how snappy the recoil would be. I definitely have to try different guns before deciding and in the meantime I'll just have to carry my stock II Yeah I don't think these round top models have that great of barrels. So I think that and the short sight radius contributes to the less than stellar accuracy. Of course I"m comparing this to my Elite models which shoot very accurate. I shot this gun from my carry holster at steel challenge and actually shot it fairly decent considering its a double action polymer compact. I would guess the .40 would have similar accuracy. My holster is a local custom made pancake style (IWB or OWB). But I was carrying it in an Uncle Mikes neoprene for a while because its a lot easier to put on and take off. In the past I have carried a Bersa Thunder .45 subcompact, an XD .45 compact, and a KelTec PF-9. I also currently have a Kahr CW9. Yea definitely no go for 40 compact. XDM and kahr are two on my list to try. so the search is on still.
  22. Thanks for the input. Since I compete with Tanfolio's I figured I should carry the same platform. I guess dropping down to 3.8 barrel really makes a difference. In terms of the sight and trigger, I think I can get away with that. I guess that 3.8 barrel makes a difference to make it not as accurate. Nealio, you think 40 cal will have similar accuracy as the 9?? Do you carry or have carried anything else beside the Tanfo polymer, type of holster? thanks.
  23. I saw this at a local gunshop and really like the feel of it. I haven't shot one before, but I do shoot Stock 2 40 for production so trigger wise not an issue. Anyone out there who use this for carry right now or at one time, input on pros and cons and negative or positive as well please post. Thanks.
  24. +1, I have a stock II that I had setup for limited and did exactly that.
  25. Now that would be interesting! Ill look at trailer once out from work.
