  1. Got my RTS2 v5 after black friday. I have been using it on my match gun, so the round count is around 1500. It just made it's way back to C-More as it was shutting off on it's own. The v4 I have has about 10,000 rounds without issue. These are mounted on a CO Legion. Starting to think it is a crap shoot with the optics. You either get one that works or you send it back.
  2. Mine is right there also. I have two 320's an original x5 and the Legion, the x5 looks a lot better and is older. I think the finish on the Legion, which is different, is way softer. Maybe it will scare your comp by showing them you actually practice.
  3. Depending on the source of the brass. I removed the die in station one to speed up the cycle, as station one can be a potential sticking point in the whole deal. I do 100 round batches on commercial brakes while watching TV.
  4. It took about 3 weeks. I hit them at a time when they were waiting on parts, but when I called they explained the issue. I was given a date when it would ship and it did.
  5. Don't think they are open on Friday. You can only call Mon- Thurs. Sent mine to that same address and no problem. Fixed and returned with no issues. Thought it was strange not to have a RMA, but all went well and when I called they were very helpful.
  6. The differences in the Smith line are style and what size face they fit. The Chamber and Director fit well under muffs with out noticing them for the day. I prefer the ignitor for the range, it's not polarized. It's pretty superficial, pick one you think will fit your face and a style you think looks good and go with it. There really are no different levels to the glasses. Interchangeable lens' or not is one of the few.
  7. I have both the chamber and director with the ignitor lens. Big fan of Smith optics. These wear like regular sunglasses, but are spec'ed to the higher MIL standard. The ignitor works well at the range and in the woods on the MTB. Knocks down the brightness of the sun, but helps me see better. The Pivlock type glasses are going to feel more like a safety glass style as I prefer something with a frame. Do not be afraid to look beyond the elites as there are some great choices in their performance line. The other thing is the warranty, it is outstanding. No issues ever and a simple process.
  8. Great crowd, matches fill up fast. Very high level of shooters there, but nice and lot's of fun. The range and bays have been improved greatly over the last few years.
  9. Try Innov-8, I like the x claws. I wear wide shoes, 2E, but in Innov-8 they have regular, which seems wide and precision fit. Precision is much like the salomon shoes. The xclaws have 8mm lugs like the speedcross, but are generally cheaper. Also google fell running for all such lugged shoes.
  10. I ordered a kkm barrel the day after xmas. Have not seen it yet. Two different promise dates, beginning of feb and then beginning of April. Still have not heard or seen anything from kkm. There customer service leaves alot to be desired. So hope you have better luck than me.
  11. I like many on here lately had the slide crack on my open gun. The crack was just in front of the ejection port. This gun was heavily modified and lightened and had in excess of 30000 rounds down the pipe. I sent the slide back just wanting to maybe find out what happened so I could prevent this for as long as possible next time. Well the good folks at Caspian called and passed on some helpful info and offered to go half in on the slide. I thought this was great customer service and it will reflect on future purchases. Just wanted to thank Caspian for there efforts.
  12. 8 inch arntzen target $27 and a $9 shepards hook from home depot work just fine. Easy to transport and set up. Have not used my evil roys since learning this trick.
  13. Adrian Cobb, mag blueprinting. He's a vendor here. Just did two svi mags for me. Great turnaround and the work is top notch.
  14. Placed the order on 2/3. Card charged 2/19, mailman just dropped them off. All the way to FL.
  15. Rick I have been backing down the charge to 6 grns of the true blue and leaving everything else the same. Works fine in my anglin gun, feeds the same and shoots soft. As to why the lesser charge, the full power open loads seem to ding the steel pretty good. The promoters around here are happier to see their steel last longer and not get abused. Could you pass on where and when these steel shoots will be happening. Thanks David.
  16. I bought the fn slp 23" vent rib for my winchester sx2 mkII. It dropped in with no problem, even though I only have 2 3/4 chamber and it's a three. I called FN and the hooked me up with a distributor who drop shipped the barrel. It was more than 159, but I don't remember the exact amount. I know that it fits and the gun lost a bunch of weight. I like it alot.
  17. Seeing the thread about the SX3 got me thinking. I now have the markII, but do not care for the sight set up. Most of my shotgun experience is in clays and I find the ghost ring set up distracting. I was thinking of hacking the front sight post off and using a fiber optic on the barrel. This I know would ruin the originality of the gun, but make it more user friendly. I have no complaints with the gun and have done many of the mods suggested here. I just don't know if this is a wise decision or should I go a different route and leave it as intended. Most of the matches shot around here do not use slugs, only steel and clays. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks David.
  18. My HD is not carrying them any more so I had to search them out. Found some on ebay 5 knobs for 5 bucks and they had Dillon blue. I know with shipping it was a little more than HD, but a lifetime supply is now in my hands. FYI just type flowerette knobs in the search and you will find them.
  19. When in my beloved Corps, if you lost your ear plugs on the range the next thing you found would suffice. I have had to use spent casings as well as the occasionial cig butt. I am sure my Drill instructor would have preferred my finger, but even he knew that wasn't probable. Just another example that the Gunny is good to go.
  20. I need to thank every one for your help and input. There is an update. I contacted the involved parties and explained that I was indeed "Lawyering up" and would like one last opportunity to arbitrate the matter before legal counsel was secured. I told them that once this was done all bets were off and all communication would be with my attorney. The phone started ringing off the hook and the owner of the shop finnaly contacted me. He stated that he would cover all the costs associated with the repair and rental of a car. He stated that while he did not want to admit guilt, he understood my position. He understood that I was a loyal customer and wanted to honor that relationship. So chock one up to good business practice. I am quite pleased that my car will be fixed by subaru so I still have my warranty and I do not have to draw this out. I also have to say how great it is to post something and get tons of help. Thanks.
  21. Its a subaru and only has 18000 miles on it. The car is now at the subaru dealer and had run fine until this event. It seemed to me that the only significant thing was the oil change. The subaru dealer refilled the tranny and tested it. They stated that there was still noise comming from the tranny, but there were no leaks. So if it is not leaking where could it have gone, and could the car go 18000 miles with no fluid? Is there any way; or what defect could cause the fluid to dissapear. Thanks for the help so far.
  22. I just had my oil changed by my local shop. I did't move the car until getting ready to shoot a local match (85 miles away) on saturday. Well on the way down the car starts making noises and shifting at odd times. Luck would have it there is a dealer near the range, so I stop and have them check it out. This is a new car, under warranty so I figure no big deal. Well to make this short the tech advises me that there is no tranny fluid in the car and the tranny is shot. He further states that there is no leak and it looks like someone drained it by mistake during an oil change. They asked if I had recent service and I told them of the oil change the day before. I next contacted the shop that changed the oil and they stated it could not be there fault. The mileage from the oil change to the dealership will be exact as the car did not move from the house after returning from the shop. So whats a guy to do and what might be my options. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  23. I have been spending all my time shooting open. I am going to shoot some state fire and police games that require using a production gun. I am looking for help with practicing. I will continue with my open practice, but I am unsure how to handle the production practice. For live fire; do I shoot it on the same day or split it up. Is there a problem with most people transitioning between the two. In the past I have found myself looking over the sights trying to see the dot. The production course of fire is static shooting requiring no reloading. What about dry fire practice do I split it up or add it on at the end. I am just an old hose dragger trying to give to the PD. Thanks in advance for any help.
