Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. So summer is wanningl, any word on if these got released to people in the US? $2500 I could handle, $5000 will make it interesting to see how many bite.
  2. Dhart- I could have written your question Thinking the same thing coming from a crush on my 40SW Edge and I have a buddy who is thinking along the same lines. The mag issue has always been interesting to me- how unreliable are your mags right now? The issue for me is that if they get dirty, my Edge runs a bit funny; but I'm talking like sandy/gritty, not the pocket fuzz I pick up in my CCW mags now. I might have the internals coated with that FailSafe coating and CeraKote the outside- maybe a bit much so might just chrome it. I was thinking of keeping it in 40SW, just so I have more compatability, plus the spare mag could be a 20rounder. On the steel vs aluminum- Would SVI have more options? Love to see what you come up with.
  3. I have a little astigmatism, so when I've played around with the scope in BAC mode, the red smears and it makes a nice big dot for close up shots. Can't wait to get it out and shoot dynamically. Dog will hunt.
  4. Thanks everyone. Went to range and got the dot zero'd at 100yards. Pretty sweet little scope. Good to know that the JP upper with PRVI 75gr match can shoot about 1moa I'll get to a longer range when I get chance, but this will have to do till I can.
  5. Just got in today my first ACOG TA11H for my JP Upper (18 inch Barrel). I'm looking around at trying to find out how to zero it, and I'm not finding anything definative. I want to start shooting 3-gun and rifle matches, but only have access to a 100 yard range, but need to get the BDC zerod. I'm running a JP 18 inch upper and looking to shoot PRVI 75gr ammo, at about 5-6000ft altitude here in the summer in Colorado. I also have some PRVI and Federal XM193. Just seems the PRVI 75gr is more consistent, and I have a couple thousand rounds. THe ACOG didn't have any manual with it ???? To get the BDC running right, where should the dot and the top of the Horseshoe set for the PRVI ammo. I haven't fired the upper yet, and I don't have a chrono or access to one. Thanks! PS. What are the actual measurements in the reticle? I read the dots are 5 mils apart? The distance is in meters? Where are the aim points in relationship to each other?
  6. Cool, thanks U.duck. How are you liking the scope? Is the scope FFP, (Or is the reticle ranginf correct at 1x and 4x? (not that big of an issue). How does it do out in harsh AX sun light? What else did you consider buying and how do you think it compares? Thanks!
  7. Any actual reticle pics? at 1x how does it look at full illumination in bright sun?
  8. I thought it would be less prone to cracking than a plastic one? Would it be the repetitive cycling that would stress weaken the Al? I guess no more at home stippling?
  9. Ordering firearms is like planting planting trees. The best time is a long time ago and today. Today was my day.
  10. Ordered an upper today thru email. They had my card on record even. The wait and 50% down is almost like layaway. Still a great deal, I think when you look at what people are charging. Be nice to have it to shoot over the 4th with. Got a lower with a Geissele trigger all waiting for it.
  11. Yelling 'Get Some' gets you noticed, yelling 'Wolverines!!!' gets you respect. Is there a post here about correct trigger pull, I assume by application?
  12. Does JP charge your card when you order or closer to shipping?
  13. I'm not a new shooter, but I'm actually starting to pay attention to the smaller things. I couldn't tell till I shot more precise guns that I was letting all the way out and coming back in. I guess my question is, in this testing, when is everyones finger's coming off the trigger? Are they releasing the trigger during recoil, or as they bring the gun back down? Anybody have high-speed photography of all this?
  14. Does that thing really have a m1913 rail, or did you screw on on. Either way, cool. I wish they had a bolt action "sniper" version of those guns.
