Looked at that. Let us know how that works. Looks like a flat end to port.

I'm down to rubbing the numbers here. Not sure you want to go into the tube. Be prepared to buy a new gun if you do. But hey-it might work!

You got the basics. Switched to Fireclean, cause of flying and it is excellent. So pull the trigger group and blow it off with compressed air and clean and lube with your favorite. Clean and check fiberoptic. That's it.

Man,if you're not sure go for the Norinco. Not available in US, but an M4 clone. I suspect that will be the least expensive of the lot.

That is the piston. It's in right. The exhaust valve assembly is what it is in. The manual says not to lubricate the piston and housing, but is does say to wet the whole thing down with Beretta gun oil and wipe clean. So I clean with Fireclean and it's "moist" when I put it back. I think they mean squirting oil or CLP in there like we do on the bolt. I also just put a little Fireclean on my finger and lube the magazine tube very lightly. Worked really well this past Saturday at our local 3 Gun match, ( same day of your 3G at South River) and it was freezing cold all day in Jacksonville. Let us know when you figure out why it didn't lock back.

Just getting into USPSA - First reloading practice
Jadeslade replied to jamesb's topic in Miscellaneous BEginners
Mag should drop before gun moves. Straight down. Then turn it and reload. Might as well take a step while reloading since standing reloads are rare in USPSA. Mag here you are there- a step away at least. Good luck! It's fun. DVC -
My girdle is way too tight to comment. Perhaps some one from the match can explain it. It is not obvious where the 180 is.
-
I stand corrected! Apparently those folks were inside the 180. Putting my girdle on and walking out of this one. Very happy Lisa's match was successful!

Awesome! Shoot more matches soon!

Put your big girl pants on. That's the perspective of a wide angle lens, they weren't down range. If your talking about the video Intenselmage put up.

I think it's about the dump boxes, really. Non standard, etc. I don't think you will find that anybody really disagrees with just put the safety on. I think it is more that unsupported claims that this way of dumping (version a) is safer than this way (version B. )are being made. And that gun type a is safer than gun type b. We require guns be left in a "safe" condition, which varies from match to match based on opinion of match director. Not to be confused with actual gun safety, which is a way of being. I am still a believer in safety first. Just not in the idea that any of the different methods or criteria are any safer than others.

Awesome!

You know Vlad, I used to be a rigid, safety first kind of guy, but I'm younger now. When I realized that gun conditions in dump boxes were based on "opinion", rather actual data I came to realize that grip safeties actually are safe and that Glocks are no safer than any other pistol. And conditions for pistols at 3 Gun matches are variable, just like any other condition of the match. But it is not based on actual true documentable data, research, anecdotes or anything but theory. So not really worth arguing that strongly for or against. On the other hand, speed unloading is a cringe worthy activity that I would prefer to be behind hard cover for should I have to observe that again. Seen with my own eyes. In Texas. At a real 3 Gun match.
-
Not sure any of this is actually safety oriented. It is a convention we have arrived at to facilitate throughput in a match. Nothing unsafe about any inert gun, until handled by someone. There are so many threads on this already. Yes, handgun dump buckets suck and safety on rules for 1911 style and trigger safety is adequate for striker guns are arbitrary match directors decisions. What's your solution?

Limited equipment rules
Jadeslade replied to Stlhead's topic in Multi-gun Rules / Stage Design / Match Administration
If you are bored loading a shotgun......... maybe bad stage design or some other reason. I like loading a shotgun and shooting shotgun stages, boredom has never entered my mind at a 3 gun match. Loading 12, hmm ...why would you do that? That sounds like, you know, wide open popper or clay shooting with high round count for high round count purposes, rather than clever or interesting stage design. Some of the best stages I have shot have been 8 shot speed shoots, empty gun starts, or loaded. By the way, Task Force Dagger and Blue Ridge -Horner matches-are 8+1for Limited and Tac Scope, and are outstanding, though physically difficult, matches and are very well regarded and attended. You can just plug a long tube, no need to change tubes. -

I think you meant verbiage. And I am overwhelmed by yours. I'm in favor of 8+1 for Limited. -

What? Stage design should not be a mechanism to put certain people at a specific disadvantage. if you can't beat them with skill, make it more difficult for them!I'm tired of BJ Norris doing well.....let's make all stages have high ports and refuse to put stools under them! So there is more skill in shooting a gun that is 12+1 than 8+1? Yes, make stages more difficult. Is there a problem with that? You said high ports, not me. I just said ports. You don't use no- shoots or hard cover to make shots harder? I've shot a bunch with BJ and his skill level is off the charts, so he will find a way to win, no matter the scenario. Great shooter, great guy.
