  1. DOH! So many rifles, so little memory! My JP5 came with JP anti-walk pins which are still on the rifle with the Geiselle trigger. Which explains why the KNS pin set was still in my parts bin. I think the small Build a Kit link bars will fit. https://www.knsprecisioninc.com/product/gen-2-mod-2-build-a-kit/ Nolan
  2. My micrometer says the KNS Gen 2 non-rotating, anti-walk pins and the Geiselle pins that came with the SD3G are exactly the same diameter .1550". IIRC KNS used to sell the SD3G with the Gen 2 anti-walk pins. Currently they sell the Geiselle Super 3-Gun trigger and Gen 2 pins. https://www.knsprecisioninc.com/product/geissele-super-3g-trigger-gen-g-mod2-bk-combo/ Nolan
  3. The guide rod isn't a cylinder head bolt! 20-25 INCH lbs is enough. Nolan
  4. Thanks for reminding me about the short leade. I had forgotten about reaming the chamber. The AZOOM dummy round or a piece of turned brass rod will hold the barrel aligned with the breach face when you pull the slide back slightly to tighten down the guide rod. I hate the cheap bent socket head cap screw 'wrench' supplied the conversion kits so I made a nice Tee handle wrench using an unbent 2.5" long stainless 10-32 socket head cap screw, a 10-32 nylok nut and a $2 hose bib handle from the local Ace hardware store. 5. What frame are you using? If the frame cut for the barrel foot is too wide, the Marvel barrel may not be centered after the guide rod is tightened. The gun MAY function while clean, but as soon as it starts to get dirty, it will start having feed or ejection failures. Get some aluminum AZOOM dummy rounds https://www.amazon.com/ZOOM-Rounds-10-Pack-Precision-Proving/dp/B07KKT2W26. Chamber a DUMMY round while you are tightening the guide rod to help hold the barrel aligned with the breech face. DO NOT USE LIVE ROUNDS TO ALIGN THE BARREL! Another frame/conversion alignment problem is the barrel bed is either too high or too low and after the guide rod is tightened, it drags on the hole at the end of the slide. Open up the hole at your own risk, it may help or not, but it will certainly void any warranty. Make sure the ejector is not dragging on the bottom of the slide. It should be an RCH below the slide, no more than that. If it is too low it tends to flip the empty case straight up causing ejection failures. It also must not be dragging against the sides of the slide. I've also seen Marvel conversions where the breach face is at the absolute minimum dimension which is too tight for most bulk ammo and again, as soon as it gets dirty, malfunctions happen. Take the slide off and check to see how your favorite ammo fits the breach face with a dirty slide and with a clean slide, it's pretty obvious when it's too tight. The second cheapest fix is to use premium ammo, the cheapest fix is to have a buddy who is an aerospace tool and die maker open the breach face slightly. The other alternative is to send it back to whoever you bought it from to have the breach block replaced. Nolan
  6. Years ago at a local match, before the default position was instituted, the start position on one stage was "Standing like the Hunchback of Notre Dame, Strong hand hovering over, but not touching the loaded, holstered handgun." Man, I miss Steve McCormick's sense of humor! Nolan
  7. I am deeply offended by your post....by the way, what are you trying to sell? Nolan
  8. The offset mount on the left gun looks like an Arisaka https://arisakadefense.com/offset-optic-mount-combo/ The SRO mount looks like a Scalar Works https://www.tacticallink.com/scalarworks-low-drag-optic-mount-for-the-trijicon-rmr-lower-third-cowitness.html Nolan
  9. Left handed threads???? Just kidding, I feel your pain. Nolan
  10. But comrade, all members are equal, but remember some members are more equal and any member can be removed at any moment by director NKVD DNROI. Do not speak too loudly, the wall it have ears. Nolavikov
  11. A Richard was called? Awesome! The more I hear, the more I miss Mike Voigt! Nolan
  12. WOW, snake oil! When I hear "impregnates metal" I immediately think of this guy. Remember, none of these snake oil salesmen have an oil refinery behind their garage, they just re-bottle oil from one of the big lubrication companies and mark up the price 10-20X. Oh, and let's not forget there's at least one that is repackaging Crisco....with a hint of mint. Nolan.
  13. I had to remove a compensator from a pistol barrel that had Rocksett. I used a heated ultrasonic cleaner and de-ionized or distilled (I don't remember which) water, I think it only took about an hour and it came off pretty easy. The ultrasonic cleaner only heats the water to around 160-170 degrees frankenstein. Too much heat may not help. The big difference is the barrel nut is torqued to 30+ ft lbs and the compensator is just threaded on to the correct length. Nolan
  14. LOL! Oh, the Org needs cash after the last couple of years losses. Somebody could probably buy SCSA pretty cheap in a couple of months. Nolan
  15. LOL! Do you chrono that with an egg timer or a sundial? Nolan
  16. Do you want only your brass annealed or just annealed brass? If you want only your brass, pick up one of these https://annealeez.com/product/annealeez/. If somebody charges you $25 + shipping, depending on how much rifle you shoot, it will pay for itself pretty quickly and it works very well. I made my own using instructions from instructions/ideas over on Arfcom https://www.ar15.com/forums/armory/DIY-Annealing-Machine/42-434088/ I still use it, but bought one of the annealeez as a birthday gift for a buddy, OK, I got it so I wouldn't have to anneal his brass AND mine. Works very well. Nolan
  17. Me too. Years ago a local club had an RO of Filipino descent with a heavy accent and when he pronounce Two it sounded like Poo, so as you guessed we deliberately shot a lot of targets with Two C's. Man, I miss those days...Good times! I'm surprised that Yee Min Lin's Candidate page is still up and hasn't been nuked to stifle the discussion. I'm sure some one has saved the page. Nolan
  18. I haven't looked for the ELF HTX 976 SAE 50wt recently, but I had the best luck with competition (2-stoke) Go-Kart shops and was able to pick it up locally. I bought 2 liters and still have one left, it has p/n 443047/T on the bottle. Nolan
  19. Drat I thought this tread was about the Spam Attack Sandwich. MMMmmm, so good. Nolan
  20. Rather than using Brake Kleen, I like using Carb Cleaner. It doesn't completely strip all the oil off the metal like Brake Kleen. It does a fair job on carbon, but it will eat through Nitrile gloves. Unfortunately, the Peoples Republic of Commieforniastan has banned most of the Carb Cleaners, which I don't understand. I would think the Communist California Air Resource Board would love CARB Cleaner. https://pj1.com/blog/brake-cleaner-and-carburetor-cleaner/ Nolan
  21. I've got a few more months to go before I hit the "FOSSIL" category Nolan
  22. They should have called the 70+ category "FOSSIL" or perhaps Decrepit Senior. Nolan
  23. I think Briley still builds Steel Challenge 1911's. http://www.brileypd.com/platemaster.html Nolan
  24. If you have access to a 3D printer you can download some like this https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2740414 Arrendondo Accessories makes this plug. Don't know if anyone in Australia carries them. https://www.arredondoaccessories.com/product/ar-15-mag-well-safety-plug/ Nolan
