  1. Howdy, smile when ya' say that pardner! I was born in Kansas, which as we say, is a good state......to be FROM. I'm living is Commierfornia now and my pronouns are F U. Which reminds me of back in my school daze I ran track and competed against, I kid you not, Friends University of Central Kansas. First track meet they showed up for, we about died laughing, until the starter's pistol went off. Those guys were off like a shot (excuse the pun), man they could run. Must have been all that clean livin'. I start all my work emails with the salutation "Howdy" just because it irritates some of the woke even though it's a nice gender non-specific greeting. Nolan
  2. Which WD40? There are several different WD40 Specialist flavors. Nolan
  3. LOL! I wonder how many read your post and immediately check their profile? Nolan Off to check my profile.
  4. My newest Dillon buzzer, 3 years old is still the ZF D42LR1AA switch. The ZF switch is obsolete, but still available several places online. I've fixed at least one old one with either the Omron VX-5-1C23 switch or the CK TFCFH8VP0040C. I don't remember which. I've used them interchangeably on other projects and had one on hand at the time. Nolan
  5. Interesting, from recent posts from PSI it appears a recent new board member in the 'Finance Committee' has been denied access to historical financial data. The Org has somehow misplaced(?) a 7 figure sum of money and the new member of the 'Finance Committee' is asking how/what/where? Has there been a second another(?) sexual harassment lawsuit that is being covered up like the KW lawsuit? Nolan
  6. Hmmm, maybe that's why the auditors prefaced USPSA's 2022 financial statement with this and why material misstatement was mentioned so many times? Our objectives are to obtain reasonable assurance about whether the financial statements as a whole are free from material misstatement, whether due to fraud or error, and to issue an auditor’s report that includes our opinion. Reasonable assurance is a high level of assurance but is not absolute assurance and therefore is not a guarantee that an audit conducted in accordance with generally accepted auditing standards will always detect a material misstatement when it exists. 7. Left handed Gangsta style sideways. Nolan
  8. Nyet! Not quantity 900,000, is price 900,000 kopek minimum order, approx $27.00 usd.
  9. or was it in a holster designed for a different gun? Larger, smaller, interior feature near the trigger? It fired after he bent down to pick up the prisoners feet, may the prisoner had the StinkFoot as Zappa would say, that was so strong the pistol gagged and went bang? Who knows. Nolan
  10. What does your cam pin look like? They are notorious for losing the plating. Mine lasted quite awhile, I replaced it and it did the same thing, so I stripped off the rest of the plating and have been running it sans plating for a couple of years. 11. I used the JP pins and never noticed any problem installing them. Nolan
  12. Ok, this thread is useless without links to said videos of crappy stages so I can feel better about our local stages! Nolan
  13. ??? JP actually said they take shortcuts if they get a little busy? That doesn't sound like JP. My trigger was nice, but it was about 1-1/2 lbs heavier than I like. Nice break, nice reset, but too heavy. Nolan
  14. I haven't personally put a kick-off on one of my shotguns, so no guarantees. The length of pull between Comp and Tac is exactly the same. The difference in the receiver is all in front of the trigger. I believe the Comp uses the same receiver as a 3.5" gun for the larger, longer loading port even though the barrel is only chambered for 3" shells. The Tac uses a 3" in receiver. Nolan
  15. The buttstock and the handguard of the 1301 Tactical is the same as the 1301 Competition. I have swapped them between my Competitions and Tactical because the Tactical came without the sling swivel nut. I just swapped stocks before I realized it was a threaded nut insert, DOH! Ordered one from Midwest Gun Works and now they all have sling swivels. I swapped handguards because I've shaved my Comp handguards and mounted Match Saverz. Now they all are shaved and etc... The main differences are: the Tactical receiver is 1/2" shorter than the Competition receiver the Tactical barrel extension is shorter because of the shorter receiver the Tactical trigger group/housing/lifter/cartridge latch is shorter the Tactical bolt carrier/piston stop/recoil spring is shorter (bolts are the same between Comp and Tac) the Tactical gas piston is shorter the Tactical gas exhaust spring is heavier (it can be used in the Comp to run lighter loads because it vents less pressure) I've shot the new 1301 Comp Pro that has the Kick-Off and didn't really like it. Maybe if I shot it more I would get used to the odd, flexi-flyer feeling and really didn't like the lack of grip. The buttstock and handguard are much smoother than the Tac or Comp. Just shooting 1145 - 1250fps 1-1/8 oz ammo I didn't feel it was that much softer in recoil and that may have been how much it moved around. Nolan
  16. And if Yee Min wins the runoff and the board blocks his re-certification, there will be another election aaannnnddd, I would hope the Yee Min runs again...and wins....aaannnndddd GROUND HOG DAY! Nolan
  17. No idea how long it will last, I only occasionally shoot open. Most of the time I shoot Tac Optics and only shoot Open for Snorts and Giggles as a change of pace. Nolan
  18. The easiest, fastest, cheapest way to break in a VR80, is NOT shooting a bunch of ammo! Completely break it down and clean ALL of the shipping goop off of evertything. Shoot or try to shoot a box of Winchester AA (not Walmart white box) or Remington STS (not Gun Club) 1250fps 1-1/8oz ammo. Even if it runs OK, pull the shotgun apart and gently polish the feed ramp, smooth the sharp edges around the edge of the chamber and extractor cut. Inspect the 3 gas ports in the barrel, remove any burrs and if necessary ream the ports to .112" diameter. I think most of the break in process most people have to go through is burning away all the burrs and junk in the gas ports. Check the extractor fit. Mine would not hold the case rim while hand cycling the action. The shell would just fall off the extractor before it got to the ejector. I got a spare from Advanced Tactical and filed the inside pad until it would actually touch the rim of the shell. Polish and break the sharp edges of the lower receiver feed ramp with a Cratex pointed bit. Carefully polish and break the sharp edges around the extractor cut in the barrel with the Cratex bit, but don't get too aggressive. Lube the action slides and moving bolt surfaces with a light gun oil like Lucas red or Mobil One. Zero lube on any part of the gas system. Use the Light piston. Try shooting another box of the Winchester or Remington 1250fps ammo, if it runs try a box of the 1145 AA or STS. It it runs, keep shooting, then break it down again and look for any new burrs, debris or heavy wear. Clean and polish as necessary. If it's still fussy about light ammo change the buffer and buffer spring to something like the Taccom 3G assembly and possibly look at reaming the gas ports to .120". Nolan
  19. I've tried a slide mounted optic several times for rimfire steel challenge. I was always a little bit slower with them than I was with the old tried and true frame mounted C-More Serendipity. I thought maybe it was the difference between the mini red dot and the C-More, so I put together another rimfire Open pistol and milled the Nelson conversion Picatinny rail to mount the dot directly to the rail so it would be very close to the same height as the slide mounted optic. I used 6 moa dots on both guns. Both guns are on 2011 frames, and are almost exactly the same weight. Average times with both guns are the same. Tried the CWA upper with the slide mount optic....slower. Oh well, at least now I have a spare rimfire Open pistol....or two. Keep paddling, the Pacific is big, but if you paddle long enough eventually you'll hit land. Nolan

  22. Then polished with a Dremel tool. Nolan
  23. Just buy a set of gunsmith screwdrivers like one of these. It will have the correct size bit for this and many other jobs as well. https://www.mscdirect.com/product/details/81086589https://www.mscdirect.com/product/details/81086589 https://www.amazon.com/Lyman-Piece-Master-Gunsmith-Tool/dp/B06XF95F1V/ref=sr_1_8?keywords=Pachmayr&qid=1686672049&rnid=2941120011&s=hunting-fishing&sr=1-8 Nolan
