He's in NJ...and really anywhere in the North East I wouldn't be surprised by this at all. Even gun people are anti 2A here.

Example, I know a local training company that makes most of it's money on state mandated CCW training. They typically do 25-50 students a week at 300+ each.

I've heard the owner say he's talked to his contacts at the state police (he's retired trooper) about increasing the qualifications required to become a instructor. Why? The two other local trainers just meet that minimum and this would put them out of business. This would likely put lots of trainers across the state out of business reducing the supply of the mandated CCW classes and likely lead to a sharp increase in the cost of classes from who ever remains. Supply and demand after all.

In the NE this is the thinking of Pro 2A people, imagine what the other side thinks.

Retired trooper is part of the problem,

I live in the NE and travel in very big circles shooting IDPA, USPSA and Steel Challenge

since 1993. This includes many matches out of state.

I have never heard of or talked to anyone that is like the people you describe!

Do we have anti gun people, absolutely but they are not included with the people I have shot with.

    Period!

I'll stick with the SCS. It's been the number 1 part I recommend on any AR to make the recoil impulse smoother, improve reliability and smooth out the sound.

I can say the same thing about the Blitz system,

I think for $150 he should try the Blitz system  and decide for himself.

Love watching your videos. You are an assume shooter.

In every gun I've shot with these there's a janky double recoil impulse that's extremely distracting.

    Stick with the JP.

I would rather deal with what you call janky impulse than rubber rings that will take you out of a stage or match.

Can't say I have ever felt the thing you are describing?

  4. Honestly,

Not saying against the JP recoil system but the Blitzkrieg buffer system will eliminate all of your problems.

And more than likely surprise you with less felt recoil.

Everyone I know runs this system and loves it. Most big time shooters run it.

Their web site has a lot of information as to which buffer and spring to run as far as barrel length.

Light grease on the recoil spring to get rid of the spring noise.

Try it, it will put a smile on your face when you shoot it.

They claim its a single stage and for all intensive purposes it is.  Like I said there is a tiny tiny amount of take up before reaching a definitive wall.  You can treat it like a 2 stage, but there really is not any pressure of the take up and the movement it barely detectable.

Look up the trigger on the Geissele web site if you have any more questions.

    Thanks for the information,

I did look it up but I was still not sure.

I know you were bragging one up and wanted to be sure what to order.

    Thank for the help.

I think you are getting the S3G and SD3G trigger confused.  the S3G trigger is curved.  The SD3G trigger is flat which is the only configuration it comes in to my knowledge.  The Geissele website essentially describes the SD3G as a single stage short pull trigger, which at speed it seems this way, but it does have a miniscule amount of take up.  The spring is heavy enough to allow you to reach a wall without completely pulling the trigger, thus making it acceptable in my eyes for distance shooting.  I have not measure the trigger pull using the 3.5 lbs. spring, but it does feel like the pull is 3.5 lbs. out of the box and seems even lighter after a few thousand rounds.  I have been meaning to get a trigger gage on it after this first season to see what the pull is, I just have not got around to it.

I have heard the springs need to be maintained properly to prevent double/auto fire.  While I have never experienced this or seen this myself, I have heard from more than one person that this is a thing.

    Thanks,

    I am confused!

So you are using the single stage?

After running the SD3G for the last shooting season in my JP5 it has been amazing.  It has been the first and only Geissele trigger.  I am not known for my splits, but numerous times last season people commented on how fast my splits have been.  I did not have any huge expectations for the SD3G, as I understood it was a rock solid trigger, but the speed of the trigger has been so impressive, I am thinking about ditching all of my Trigger Tech Triggers in my ARs and switching to the SD3G.  I used to think I was not a guy that required trigger reset force to effectively get decent splits, but the SD3G has me rethinking that.

The main reason would be Trigger reliability, and running the same trigger in all of my rifle platforms.

Is your Geissele a SD3G or the SD3Gun super dynamic trigger?

    Reputable ?  Yes

They have a history of selling things they don't have and taking forever to ship, or at least they did. I think they drop ship most stuff.

    Thanks,

I remember that was a problem with them.

Since I owned both already, I put them both into lowers. I put the CMC into the Palmetto AR9 lower and the Rise into a PSA AR-V.

I have dry-fired both at home but not actually run them on the range - and I acknowledge that sometimes triggers do feel different when actually shooting. But my initial impressions are this -

I strongly dislike the little 90 degree "hook" at the bottom of the CMC trigger - it rubs on my finger to the point I'm now rethinking putting the 2.5lb CMC I have into the 15-22 I use for Steel Challenge sometimes.

The CMC has a much longer reset. Like- over twice as long. It's gross.

I'm going to run it for a bit and see how I actually like it, but as of right now, the heavy nod goes to the Rise PCC trigger.

    Dremel the hook off,

    Takes about 10 minutes.

Take care to not let he trigger get to hot, I keep dipping mine into a dish of water.
