  1. I have these triggers in my two XDM's. They are wonderful.

    40 to 9

    Same here. No problems.
  3. I bought a 3 wheeled Jogging Baby Stroller at a yard sale for $5 a few years back. Ripped the canopy off and took the hand brake off (didn't work anyway). Got two pair of the KOLPIN rifle holders for ATV's from Cabela's. I mounted the rifle holders direct to the frame of the stroller. Worked perfect. Bought an ATV cup holder from WalMart. All told got about $73 into it. Works well. Pics to come.
  4. I've looked at both the XDM 9mm 4.5 and the competition model with the FO sights. I have a Glock model 34 with Warren tactical sights. How do the XDM's compare with a Glock 34?
  5. I have an Edge in .40 caliber that I purchased from Dawson Precision and love the gun except for one thing....the serrations on the slide are very sharp. I'm looking for someone to take edge off the serrations. The slide is blued so I would need to get it refinished. Who does that kind of work for a reasonable price.
  6. I have an Edge from Dawson with the tuned package. It has been 100% reliable. It runs dirty or clean shoots to point of aim. My only complaint is the serrations on the slide ,are sharp.
  7. So true. I may have to adopt that quote.
  8. A hard plastic range box is a very good idea. I shot in the Fla IDPA championship some years back and it rained cats and dogs. I wish I had taken one of the military ponchos I owned. I was soaked to the bone and so were most people. A waterproof full brimmed hat makes sense too.
  9. Shoot what you got. Big calibers in snub configuration sound like a lot of fun. K and J frames work well too.
  10. How well will the Burris sight hold up with being mounted to the slide. It seems like it take some abuse being mounted like that. I'm in the process of building a g34 open and have considered a similar set up.
  11. The extended mag release on both my Glock 34 and 35 caused problems for my grip. I'm left handed and my second finger would rub against the sharp corners...same as my STI edge. I filed off the sharp edges with a small hand file.
  12. I got one off of Gun Broker.
  13. I saw some hi cap glock mags and ar pmags at the LGS yesterday and the day before". Both types were 29.95 each. There were probably 10,000 mags at the Reno gun show last week. All way over priced.
  14. Dawson Ice works well for me. Just got some Taylor Freelance base pads to go along with the Arredondo base pads that I have.
  15. I've needed back ups twice. Once when I was 150 miles from home at a club match and the cylinder release on my model 19 fell off. Another time I was thousands of miles from my home in Alaska at a training event put on by Manny Bragg after the Florida Open and the front sight fell off of my Glock 34. Both times I had a back up and was glad I did. Why spoil the fun? Bring a back up if you are able.
  16. I've had trouble a couple of times. Once when the cylinder release fell off a model 19 and once when sights fell off my glock during a training session with Manny Bragg after the Florida Open. Both times I was a long way from home. When I was at the Florida Open my home was in Alaska. Fortunately I had a back up both times. I almost always carry a spare. After remembering these episodes I will always have a spare.
  17. Range bags are cool but you get a lot of use out of a Stanley plastic tool box. Cheap, functional and waterproof.
  18. I 've used a Bladetech paddle holster for years. Works well.
  19. Warren Tactical sights work well on G34.
  20. I think a four inch k- frame revolver like a model 19 or 66 are one of the best balanced revolvers a person can have. That said, a lot of guys go with L- framed guns like the 686.
  21. I have a 617 - 10 shot model with a 6 inch barrel. It is one fantastic revolver. However, I feel it is a bit too muzzle heavy. A four inch barrel is in my future.
  22. I'll agree with those that say try your GP100 first. Find some speed loaders. You can use that in IDPA too. Have fun then see what you think.
  23. My vote is for the STI Trojan. Got mine from Dawson tuned and ready to go. My favorite pistol.
