Anyone test a railed hand guard that's actually lighter than the BCM KMR?
Hoping to soon.
Purchased the Ranier Arms Force 12" Keymod as an alternative to the much more expensive KMR. Weight w barrel nut is 10.1 oz vs 7.7 for KMR, but cost is half.
A plus for the Force handguard are the built in rotation limited QD plug in points, if that matters to you. Does to me, so the weight difference now drops to around 2 oz, maybe less.
KMR has a lot of positive reviews of M4C.net but went with a less expensive alternative, close in weight. Will install in a couple of days then test it out.

Try ebay. Some guy sells them in sets of 2 for around $7, delivered. Bought 2 sets.

How about the Seekins low weight carrier?

Will check it out. Some one else on BE had good things to say about this carrier. Thanks, Chris.

Thanks to everyone that responded! Sounds like there is no bad choice between the IP and Taccom. Cannot check them both out as no one in my circles has them AFAIK. Price is a small factor with the advantage going to Taccom.
Again, thanks for the feedback.

Looking at Taccom and Invictus and have a question to those who have used both: Is the spacing between the adjacent rows in a quad of shells, such as Invictus 12 a benefit over something like the Taccom quads, where the rims of 2 rows of shells are practically touching?
Without first hand experience, I am guessing that rims touching can lead to the two rows entangling as first row is shoved into the mag tube, dragging on the 2 shells still in the palm awaiting their turn to load.
On the other hand (no pun intented) maybe having the two rows super close to each other makes it easier to not lose grip and drop a shell or 2.
Any info would be appreciated as I am considering taking the plunge and want to buy once...
Looking at the design and application difference, realizing there are fans of both companies and some past drama relating who did what first...
Thanks in advance,

Just wondering if there is a real risk with having a chamber that is super polished; theoretically with a very polished chamber, case has less adhesion to chamber walls and bolt thrust is increased. Is this a real concern or nonsense?

Suspect the rust has led to pitting, which can trap moisture and debris, and lead to more rust, as well as increased friction. I would buff out the surface, removing as little material as possible, using something like Simichrome.

Sorry that I came across as a smart ass, did not know you did not have the instructions.
Use the weakest ammo you have, so it will function reliably with all ammo.
I ended up on setting #4, from fully closed, many folks end up at setting 5.
You can also experiment with lighter buffers, but setting might have to be changed if the buffer is changed.
Main thing as everyone says, 100% lock back on empty is key, not so much ejection pattern.

Did it not come with instructions on a card? Curious why you trust SLR to purchase their product, but not trust their instructions on adjusting it.
Mine came with instructions, which worked quite well. Try it, and if not satisfied, ask if there is a better way. Suspect not.

Only negative I can see is the carbine length gas system. Not terrible, but not ideal, and cannot be changed without changing barrel.

Some specs:
Seekins Dynamic Resistance
Length 2.50" 1.75"
Weight 4.00 oz 2.44 oz
Left out prices, as it all depends on vendor.
Ranier Arms has a good price on Seekins, and Carbon Arms or Dynamic Resistance are the only sources for the DR that I am aware of.
No doubt they are both good, main differences are size and weight. Not sure if these are important to 12Glocks.
-
No experience with the Seekins, but when I was shopping, I chose the DR over it only because the DR is shorter and lighter.
Seekins does look cool though.

Has this ammo functioned well in the JM930 previously, or not?
Have you tried other ammo that has worked well in the past to determine if the problem persists?
Looked at your UT videos and it seems a round did not even make it from the mag tube out.
Have you looked at the 2 gas ports to make sure they are open?

I would remove the disconnector and reinstall, minus the spring, then test for free movement.
What brand of fire control group are you installing? They come in various levels of quality, not saying that yours is not high quality, as I don't know, hence asking.

Thought it was weird as well, but seems normal. Doubt there is anything wrong.
-
More room inside, but bulk can be an issue with stock contact. Great for pistol at any rate, and seals much better than impact sport.
-
Every time I clean and oil the chamber I get a little oil seeping through that joint line. Thought OP was referring to what looks like a line under the big drop of oil.

Ya, the Dynamic Resistance comp. Light and pretty effective.
Available direct from DR, or from Carbon Arms.
Do a search on BE.

Another option, in SS, so would be more visible until it jumps out.

I think either would work. Am thinking of ordering a set of 25 as I want a spare or 2, and selling the rest, say a dollar gets you 2, postage included in CONUS. Should I do it? Tito, envelope rates to PR same as CONUS?
Not sure if quality is same as Mossberg. OE seems to be spring steel, don't know about the Grainger version.

The line running perpendicular to bore is normal, but mine does not have what appears to be a line parallel to bore.

I guess I could make my fist post here.
JM Pro
Nordic +7 tube
Nordic low drag follower
welded lifter
beveled loading port
SkyTac bolt release
polished shell stop
hydro dipped Kryptic yeti , carbon fiber tube
fn LM Choke
Any info on the bolt release?
Googled Sky Tac with no hits.
Thanks.

Funny, you guys talk about VA Beach, but we just got back from a week in the OBX!
Yeah, will leave front of loading port alone! May get the tools out again again if the factory profile of the sides gives me any grief during loading. Suspect the problem is the Indian, not the bow...
-
Holy sh**!
I am right on the edge of the mag tube, so did not go anymore forward, but it seems like you did. No fear of weakening the mag tube?
Did not work on the sides, obviously. Do you find that removing material there makes a significant difference in terms of ease of loading? Looks cool, but is the juice worth the squeeze?
Last picture is what, a Stoeger 3K?
Thanks for the encouragement.
