  1. I'd have to say it's a draw. The AR grip feels way better then the Sl-8, but I can hunt with the Sl-8(if I ever send in my test to get a license) and I can only use the AR at a government approved range.
  2. I went with the Stag for price point and availability over the Armalite. Very pleased with the result.

    Sti Edge

My guess from comparing rich's work and the factory ones is that the factory high spots are still there he just made the cuts wider and deeper. After loking at the razor back cut, I think I'll do that aswell. I just hope I can get on the CNC to do it instead of a manual machine. I hate cranking those handels back and forth.

I love it, that's what I've been thinking about doing to my edges except for the top cuts, What size ball nose cutter was used for the serrations? Did he have to weld up the factory serrations first? do find that you hands slip off the front serrations now or do you get a better grip?
  5. I just updated to it and I like how stream lined it it now. There's a seach bar next to the address bar that you assign to different search engins. I set mine to the weather channel for those long distance matches since I allready have a google search bar. Theres a "tab" feature which allows you to have multile pages open with one explorer window. The tool bars are more orgnised aswell.
  6. Pretty slick idea Matt, what made you think of that?
  7. "Here's Aggie Dad's new SVI" SHA-WING!!! That's a beauty
  8. looks like a 16" mid lenth carbine from armalite is the way to go. Thanks guys.
  9. I have a itch for a new 'M4' ish rifle. I've narrowed it down to a Stag Arms or an Armalite based on price and availabilty up here. Just curious as to people's experiences with either company.
  10. I played a similar game at the Canadian Nats this year, this must be where my buddy got the idea. We upped the anty a bit, D=$2 M&PT=$5 movers included. He brought up the idea, I hesitated at first then he decided for me. At the end of the match I came away with a $86 dollar profit. Cheers to the originators.
  11. It's a home made jobby, you carry around a camcorder in a hollowed out camel pack.
  12. 3 on the stage at 98% ish, I had a better time but 2 or 3 less points. That wasn't my scored run I got to play on the stage after the match was done. I think we had 5 or 6 seconds to get to the first array. Ranges were about 7 yards on th close ones and maybe around 15 on the far ones, but I'm a real bad judge of distance.
  13. I can't lin to the results since tehy are password protected( if I post them the powers that be will strike me down), 10 people in standard zero'd it 3 in open and 5 in production. You started seated with the gun unloaded and holstered hands holding 2 buttons. It was self start, letting go of the buttons started the timer and the timed turner sequence(big computer controlled pneumatic system). The last array would dissappear after 26 seconds then the sequence would start all over again but this time the arrays would stay visible except for one target in the second and third array. So if you had any type of hiccup you were screwed. It was preety much a fixed time stage up untill the last 4 targets which is what made the slight difference in the top times. This was my first stage of the Nats, the turner sequence looked a lot faster during the walk through but when I shot it I found myself standing in the port wondering when the targets were going to show up.

  15. Base gun is a Norinco NP29 9mm We can still get new Norinco's up here, the crappy thing is I can't get the paper work to use it at any USPSA matches due to the US ban.
  16. Beautiful ride Dan, I love the color. I almost bought a green 1800 a few years back but talked myself out of it and into some new guns, still not sure if I made the right choice.
  17. Got the gun new for $400 CAD specifically for tinkering so I wasn't worried about trashing it. I flat topped the slide, got rid of the "Colt-type" serrations, put in the SVI'ish ones and put the sight cuts in. Then I undercut the triggguard beveled the magwell and installed an STI beaver tail. I tried Black Oxide for the slide which worked great on the bead blasted surfaces but wears off of the polished parts too easy. Now I just have have to work up the guts to put my STI's up on the mill
  18. #1 and #2. #2 has been promoted to my main gun and has been upgraded with a stainless magwell and mainspring housing as well.. Since the STI's have come around I have retired my Para
  19. Nice work Matt, the front serrations are sweet looking
  20. "Those other configurations don't really carry over to his setup. For example, you just can't weld an extended dust cover onto a Para or Caspian framed gun just because the STI's/SV's have done so. You still have to meet the 500 guns or components criteria with that configuration" At last years Limited and/or L-10 Nationals Fabien Scott from South Africa used a Para with a welded on extended dustcover. He wasn't bumped into Open so I guess that's legal now.
  21. Hey, I have the same plate and hitch cover on my truck , where'd you find that one at?
  22. I've been told a few people up here don't like seeing my plate at matches. MADNESS I've gotten a few weird looks going through customs on my way to a match.
