  1. Be sure to read up on the P22 in the Walther forum on RFC.
  2. I could not agree more! I've got three or four Nikkor lenses that are over 10 years old. Those lenses took beautiful pictures on the N90 film camera I had back then and they take beautiful pictures on the D70 I have now. Over the past 10 years Nikon has updated each of those lenses with new features like internal auto focus motors, but my 10 year old glass will still take pictures that are visually indistinguishable from pictures taken through the new lenses.
  3. A man walks into a bar in Kansas City. He sees they have the Chief's game on TV so he sits down, orders a beer and starts watching the game. After a few minutes the Chiefs kick a field goal and everyone in the bar cheers... and then the bar goes dead quiet. A small dog that has been sitting at the bartender's feet hops up on the bar and does a back flip. Everyone in the bar goes nuts. After a few more minutes the guy asks the bar tender "How did you teach him that?" To which the bartender replies "We didn't. He was a stray that wandered in here. One day we had the game on, the Chiefs kick a field goal and the dog does a back flip. He does it every time." Next the man asks "What does he do when the Chiefs score a touchdown???" Bartender says "I don't know... we've only had him for a couple years."
  4. Nice shot! Lots and lots of practice. Remember that a deer has legs that are swinging around, a head attached to a neck, fur and all kinds of other movable parts. If you're using a shutter speed slow enough to blur the background as you pan there is going to be some motion blur in the deer itself. On the other hand with a 200 mph stock car all of the parts of the car (except the wheels and tires) are moving together, at the same speed in the same direction hence no noticeable motion blur in the car.
  5. '03 BMW F6550GS A little known fact: BMW designed the tank bag of the F650 specifically to hold 1 dozen donuts...
  6. Congratulations! I hope to join the blue crowd in the not too distant future.

    Legal for 3 gun?

Here's a PDFed set of slides on the M1028. There is a cut-away of the canister and another of cut away of a complete cartridge. You also get to see what the M1028 can do to a cherry Mercury Topaz. What has to be the most amazing thing is how well the cartridge repairs concertina wire (there's an obvious mistake on one of the slides)

We're talking roughly 1100 tungsten balls, somewhere in the neighborhood of 100-150 grains each, with a muzzle velocity of 1,400 meters per second.
  9. Nice work! I'd be careful about going down the strobe path. First it's strobes, then it's stands and softboxes, then it's more strobes... next thing you know you're selling your new boom stick to afford more camera gear. The nice thing about shots like this is the subject is completely static. You don't need a big punch of light from a strobe to freeze any motion. Constant (hot) lights will be easier to work with and should be a little cheaper.
  10. Can't imagine why they would turn off ratings and comments for that video
  11. Agreed. You can't improve on perfection!
