Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. I am fairly new in the standard division. I have a Sti long dust cover 40 pistol and I haven't experienced any blown cases. I started here in the philippines in the production division using a 9mm pistol and I have experienced more blown cases in 9mm. The reason I transfered to 40 caliber is that my friend who is in modified using hot loads said that he never experienced blown cases in the long time he's been using his 40 modified pistol. so now i am in standard division.
  2. I just finished a club shoot in my local. there is a stage with 22 steel targets poppers and falling plates. Shooting steel is fun I just need to remember to take time to aim. see the sights and not rush to things.
  3. cautery, thanks for the advice. brass rod or wooden rod will be my method.
  4. Ok thanks for the comments. Have anyone of you considered what a friend in my range did to remove the jammed bullet. He has a blank bullet, case with primer and powder charge but sealed with candle wax. After the squib load he loaded the gun with this blanks and fired, he cleared the barrel. Any comments. Thanks again.
  5. I just experienced a squib load during practise. I cleared the jammed bullet in the barrel by using a cleaning rod to push it thru. Is this the best way? Are there any other options to do it. I am afraid ta if the rod slips on to the bullet it might ruin the barrel. Any comments, Thanks.
  6. I will second the Pact Mk4 the best timer I had.
  7. gm iprod, Thanks for the insight, I might try my AS-50N for .400. I will load some rounds and test its velocity and accuracy. With my 9mm load, I am using a Tangolio 9mm, it seems to like the 3.7 gr when I use lead any lower than that it keyholes on paper. And I like the Higher power factor for safety margin. Thanks again
  8. I am using ADI limited -AS-50N powders for my 9mm loads (124 gr lead over 3.7 gr AS-50N ave 1040 FPS), I have a jug of the stuff barely used. Now I am going for .400 caliber standard division in IPSC, has any of you use the same powder. If so can you share some recipies. I plan to use 180 gr bullets, seating will be 1.180". Or do I have to use a different powder. Your opinions please. Thanks
  9. My project limited gun is being assembled by my gunsmith and will be out in a few weeks. I am just interested in how to test or break in the gun. Do you guys use factory ammo or you use handloaded ammo. If handloaded do you guys use FMJ, Plated or lead. Do you try to use the type of ammo that you intend to use in IPSC competitions (PF = 170: major score) or you water down a bit. Your opinions please. Thanks.
  10. I am just interested in finding out how you clean your guns after use. Do you scrub the barrels with brass brushes, do you use solvents. Your opinions please.
  11. achard, what base pads do you use to get 19 rnds in the mag. TP or another gunsmiths basepad. What follower? will it fit in the ipsc box with a plus 2 pads.
  12. I am just wondering what holster is the best for ipsc, using a para ord framed gun. There are a lot of holsters to choose from what is the best in terms of retention and ease in drawing the gun. What are the pros and cons of the holsters that are available in the market.
  13. Thanks for the info, I am planning to do the same with the aftec. I am still looking for a friend or relative that will be going home from the US of A. Nice gun again, good gunsmith but to far I am from Batangas City.
  14. Who is the gunsmith? Where did you get the aftec extractor, import or local purchase?
