  1. I ran into this problem a number of times last year. After crashing and burning on a few stages because of FTE I concluded that it was due to my change in bullets. I had switched to Precision 147gr bullets from BBI 147gr bullets. My suspicion is in the difference in the ogive the Precision bullet is (at times but not always) hitting lans and not going fully into battery. I switched to factory 124gr and had no issues. I ran the BBI 147gr the previous year without any issues.
  2. We have some Revo shooters in Pine Island myself being one of them. It is sporadic when any of us shoot revo lately. The weekly matches (USPSA) start this wed. at 6pm. All are welcome.
  3. I love the Ed Brown release but it is made of Unobtainium.
  4. Thank you guys for the information. It is much appreciated!
  5. Does anyone know who does this anymore. This is on a 686 that I got 20+ years ago. (I was told it came out of Canada).
  6. Not at this time. This is a bit of mild steel stock that was my 2nd rendition of my mag release prototype. I am using Taccom’s stainless button with my old lever.
  7. When you are using your Taccom mag release bar and are having issues with it working/binding, try placing your index finger on the back corner of the bar. Instead of pressing it in strait into the gun, press forward and in at the same time (think pushing in at a 45 degree angle). Taccom’s stainless mag release button is WAY better than my original nylon one but the Ruger design of its mag release is a short shallow throw so it tends to bind with a longer lever. Forward and in at the same time. This is my PSA for today.
  8. My favorite. Its all I wear shooting. End of the day your feet still feel good.
  9. He is alive and well. I met up with him about a year ago down in St. Petersburg.
  10. Bash on Ruger like S&W has guns that are competitive ready. I just bought a 929PC gun and it is no better then the last 610 i bought 9yrs ago. It still needs a full action job done. A PC gun = more money and no more than you get from a standard gun.
  11. I made a new "gas key" and tapped that. I did the milling work on a lathe. I have C-More on it now. Nothing poking out the left side of the mount.
  12. I wanted a side charger and to get rid of my A2 upper. So I converted a stripped slick side upper for my Olympic Arms upper.
  13. Area 5 was fun last year but I will be on vacation with the family then moving my daughter up to Fargo that weekend.
  14. This is what I made for my regular rubber grips.
  15. Thanks for the update Hop! We will see you at the range!
  16. I have had my XD 5" for over 13yrs and have 30k + rounds down the pipe. In all that time I have broken 1 extractor. That was around the 25k mark. I do not baby my firearm, they get oiled but not clean real often.
  17. The other reason is your off hand locks into the grip for a very controled grip. YMMV.
  18. Do you know what the difference is between an oral thermometer and a rectal one is? The taste.
  19. I am planning on going to MCC next year instead of Nats. MCC is more fun and not an equipment race. It will be a fun weekend trip.
  20. Yes, very well in fact. Great comp for the money.
  21. A couple weekends ago someone asked me why I was shooting full power Rem. slugs. I told them because they work! I fired 1 extra slug for the match. All but one stage I only loaded the slugs that I needed. I trust them as I should.
  22. Why not just rotate the reciver 90* to left. Weak hand loading made easy, same sight plane, bottom ejection. Whats not to like?
  23. Short answer is your brass is wore out. A few years ago I had the same problem with my 610's. I finally figured out that after reloading my .40 brass about 4-7 times it was wore out. I was getting flame cutting on my firing pin bushing. Not every one did it but it only took a couple to cut the crap out of my bushing. Think of it as a 36,000psi plasma torch. Now I use the brass 2-3x then haul it to the recyclers and collect a small check.
  24. Shooter that suports the shooters. Bob rocks!
