  1. People already shot heavy guns. People already shot light guns. The results at matches have zero to do with either.
  2. I'm just surprised you didn't call the S2 a race gun.
  3. I'm sure someone would let you borrow a light to test. You wouldn't be able to draw with it but you could test out recoil and transitions. I'm not sure if everyone knows this, they're extremely easy to remove! It can be done in seconds and then reattached if someone ever wanted to remove it for any reason. Like, shooting a match or something.
  4. What I think/like/feel is probably going to different than you. I'll tell you I don't plan on running a WML and I shoot a plastic gun. I've tested it with one and it does change the feel a little. I don't feel it's worth the hassle. I already shoot a light woeght gun while others shoot heavy guns. All this does is increase how many people shoot "heavy" guns.
  5. This. Let me save y'all some time and money. Do NOT buy after market mags.
  6. Hmmm. Sounds like if you’ve already made Master then you’re on the right track. I personally think being very serious is vital but our definitions may be different or we may just be misunderstanding each other. I think a huge gap to bridge form M to GM is trust vs trying. Trusting my process was a huge step in performance. This is dependent on working to get the skills to that level but once the work has been done and the skills are there, implementing a process and trusting that, letting things happen instead of trying to force things to happen, is the way.
  7. I ordered 3 last week and got them already.
  8. Focus on the guns position/orientation when you palce it in your weak hand. Specifically on placing it your hand correctly to avoid this problem. Think it thru on how it needs to be palced in the hand. Make that your focus of that action. Realizing that doing this action correctly is the only goal in that movement. It's not gonna be any slower and it will minimize any time lost to searching.
  9. People hear and don’t hear what they want. and that’s where we are. If you like something you seek out things to keep your status quo and vice versa. I have to be honest with myself and know that I’m doing that as well. but we just dismiss things because we find one thing that reinforces our views. There are a lot of folks that like the changes. No doubt but to act like the folks that don’t like these changes are few and far between or are just a few GM’s that are being elitist is just not accurate. And I think we need to look at past trends and the current trajectory the org is on. I will not be surprised to see magwells and carry comps very soon. Despite the word “Practical” being in the name, USPSA is not practical at all. It’s a sport. Not a hobby. Not real life scenarios. It’s a sport of marksmanship at speed.
  10. I’m seeing some AD almost get defensive of this entire situation. saying things like “you don’t have to change anything if you don’t want to”. Or “I’ve heard way more positive than negative “. So, anyone griping just gets dismissed. I’ve never even heard of an AD asking for input on any issue. Not sure that’s really all that realistic either. Don’t know if they have enough time to entertain everyone’s input on every issue possible? So I want to cut them some slack. saying that, I’d suggest people upset contact their AD and let them know they don’t like this rule change. Also, entertain the idea of either running for AD or supporting someone to run against their current AD. This is politics right? It seems like the culture in USPSA is the BOD changes a rule, the majority don’t like it but they just accept it and “live with it” and then repeat. This seems to be how it works since I’ve been involved for the last 4 years. Let them know you don’t like it. Don’t just come to the Internet forum and gripe! Send them emails. Ask them to motion for another vote to change it back. I have! Then remember when it comes time for another election. Vote them out.
  11. This was done with the thought that more people will come and join in the fun now that their gear is on an equal playing field. Purely speculation here but I expect more people will not feel the need to buy heavy guns as much as they did previously. Will the new shooters joining the sport be another 10k new shooters or will it be another 200 nationwide? My bet is it’ll be closer to 200. That only come out once or twice. Then 90% never come back. Cause they won’t like getting beat by the more skilled shooter. but at least the rules were changed so “they can be competitive with their carry gear “. In theory
  12. You keep saying this “race only” thing. whats “race’ish” about the shadow 2 and the legion? The weight? quit telling shooters that might not know better that their gun is at a disadvantage. Everyone knows it’s recoil spring weight that’s the secret!
  13. The Glock has to the the easiest gun to dissemble. Like I’m confused by this thread because of how easy it is. The 1911 is easy? It’s not super difficult but there are so many guns that are so much easier to take down.
  14. For some reason the powers that be here on this forum don’t want the threads to go in certain directions. I don’t know the reasons. I don’t necessarily like that about this forum but it’s their choice. So, I can accept it or choose not to come here. I’ll say I really only come here out of boredom. I like to discuss things about shooting and there’s a place here to do that. Though, this forum does get a little less interesting as time goes by.
  15. Charlie, as always you make good points and I agree with a lot of what your saying. I’m not trying to just bash on the new changes. However, it just seems that the current membership always has to adjust so that we can get new shooters involved. I don’t agree with this approach. If new shooters want to play the game, they should meet the criteria required. Instead it seems the criteria, that the people already invested time and money to be in compliance with, is changed to accommodate new shooters. Things change. I get that and sometimes it’s a good thing. I just don’t agree with this approach.
  16. 1. Less calls about rules need to made now that there are less rules. 2. more non-competition shooters can show up and be placed in a division where they’ll be competitive. So they can compete. 3. The org can brag that the non-profit org made more profit. 4. this paves the way for action .22 which will have no rules so anyone can compete and the non-profit can make more profit.
  17. I agree with this but, it’s becoming hard not to think that most decisions are based on what makes things easier for staff/org. That or whatever will allow for any Joe off the street to show up and be in “competitive” division.......and to be easy for staff when it comes to any rule, decision or call. So,..... I can see how it might eventually be a dot or no dot only game. For pistols at least. PCC is probably here to stay and it seems there’s an Action .22 thing coming.
  18. I got two issues with the light. 1. What if it breaks? Won’t turn on during equip check. Bump to open? 2. High powered lights. Colored lens. Something to focus the light down to a small beam. Makeshift laser? Assuming this is possible.
