  1. I'll have to look at all of them. Not sure I can't tell if it's coming from a specific location.
  2. Never noticed it before. I changed powder but can’t imagine that would cause this. Not worried about it just curious. Cleaned it off and loaded 1,000 RDS. Seems like a lot.
  3. I'm gonna be straight up. A 2011 that's built like the Titan will be the shitt! Mags are going to be at least double the price and are going to require at least double the attention to get/keep running. Saying that, I would choose the heavy style 2011 everyday compared to a TSO based solely on the gun. Is it worth the extra $2k? Only you can answer that question. Now, if you were chosing between a cheaper, plastic grip 2011, I'd say the gap would be closer. I'd still probably want the 2011 though.
  4. Now I definitely want one.
  5. I keep trying to convince myself that I don't to go back to open but dang I want one of these!
  6. That kind of accuracy demands a LOT of luck with any gun and barrel.
  7. It depends on how much you want to spend. Since you've listed options that start around $1700 and go up to $3800. Also, mags are going to be another factor as they also start lower and go up in price. Not to mention, some will require maintenance and others will require tuning. Saying that, personally I would exclude the RIA from the start. I've never actually shot one but I've never heard much good about them and I don't think I've ever heard anyone running one successfully. I'm sure someone will chime in and say I'm worng. Maybe I am? The 2011 from a well know builder would be my choice if I wasn't thinking with my pocket book. I've had two Titans. The first one was one of the best handguns I've ever owned. The second one was sub par IMO. I've shot the TSO and the Tanfo Limited. They're not bad but I prefer the heavy 2011 setup. You might try to shoot each before you decide. I know that can be a pain but it might save you some money. Though, since you're not wanting to buy a cheaper option now then upgrade later, I would recommend the Titan! Nobody regrets buying one of those over a TSO/Tanfo from a performance standpoint.
  8. I was just referring to the part about not wanting to tweak/tune anything.
  9. You're not wrong. But you're also not right either. Seriously, I'm a Glock fan. I shoot them well. I think they're very accurate. Though, money being no issue, I'd choose an awesome 2011 over a Glock every time. I know, in this case, money is an issue. Actually, it's an issue in almost every case. I only say that that because it makes the point that the Glock leaves a little to be desired when compared to the 2011. It is hard to overcome the cost of the 2011's and so the Glock isn't a bad choice. I do think I could shoot one and most likely would be just as competitive as I would be with a 2011. Though, I'd still prefer the 2011. (except when I got to tune mags and buy anything). I think @rowdyb said it best in his first post in this thread. "Keep dreaming"
  10. To answer the OP's questions. I've not found anyone that sells the OEM mags for less than most places. Meaning, $25 is about the best I've seen. Except for specials. I've never used the magpuls so can't comment. I have used ETS with better luck. I've beat the crap out of them too. Saying that, I will never use them in a match. They seem to swell and sometimes will not drop free. OEM mags are not expensive IMO. Saving a couple of bucks on magpuls or ETS isn't worth it.
  11. What's wrong in this pic?
  12. I'm also looking to pick up a gun for next year to shoot limited. I currently shot a G34 in CO. I've had atlas Titans, and a G24 and I've shot the tanfos a little. I probably will not go back to to the G24. I thought about it but feel it's the least favorable for limted. IMO the 2011 is better in every way but you have to spend more and they require more work. I'm kinda in the same boat as the OP. I don't want to tune/tinker and don't want to spend $3000+ on each gun. I've shot the tanfos a little and they seem like the best option when it comes to not going the 2011 route. Saying all that, I believe any gun/mags are going to require a little of attention/tuning from time to time.
  13. Which basepad allows for the most ammo on the mag? Is 20 reloadable possible?
  14. Hope you enjoy it! Please realize we're new to the whole process and still figuring things out. We just want to discuss topics/issues, and answer some questions. There are already a few great podcast out there that have several great knowledgeable/successful shooters. We're not trying to be better and in most cases I feel those other podcast are better for technical/instructional info. However, we're newer to the sport and are coming at things from that standpoint. Maybe that will be interesting to folks. As for the name, I came up with it. I jokingly named it another shooting podcast because there are already several out there that are very good. So, I was trying to be funny with that. I thought to make the name more specific to practical shooting sports, we should add something to the title. Though, I did realize that a word starting with S would allow for the acronym. I'm not a fan of the logo but it's not all about me. We've also have a poll going on renaming the show. You can find us on FB/IG @asspodcast
  15. Dropping my name is not gonna help persuade anyone to listen.
  16. I've used several. I use them for practice. I've had good luck with them. Haven't had any break. I wouldn't use them for a match. I've had some hang up from what I think was swelling.
  17. I don't think so. If anything, they finally got one right.
  18. Even if they did, they'd jack it up and it wouldn't be worth it.
  19. Gen 5 seem to have solved the issue. Mine eject in a slight forward direction. I get no brass hitting the dot from what I can tell.
  20. Which, IMO, is not something you should Do. Unless the shooter ask a question the RO should only be saying commands per the rule book. Meak ready. Are you ready? Stand by. The shooter is going thru their process and doesn't need to be processing anything else.
  21. IMO, neither is optimal for limited when it comes to actually wining div HOA. But, you don't need to go out and buy/change any guns/gear for a good while. I'd recommend shooting the one you like more until you get to B class. Then it might make a little more sense to buy something new. Like a 35 and set it up for limited. Though, you may also decide to switch to production.
  22. I personally like the idea of factory plate system. I've never tried one that's been milled. Even though I've never tired one, I don't believe it to be any better or worse. I'd say choose whichever option is easier/cheeper for you.
