  1. Good thread! In for the info.
  2. I chrono'd them Friday. I shot about 40 shots. Averaged about 865. Only had about 5 total that dropped below 850. Didn't have any below 842. Out of my G34.
  3. Good to know. I'm going to order more. Acme seems to have the best price so probably go with them. Anyone use their 145 RN? Depending on the profile, it may be able to be longer OAL than the FP.
  4. I ordered a couple of sample packs from Bayou and Acme. Glock 34 w/stock & WC barrels 147 gr FP(coated) 3.4 gr WSF .376" crimp 1.125" OAL I'm going to bump up the powder charge 0.1 grn (buffer for making pf) and shorten the OAL to about 1.115 (more buffer for plunk and spin test). I'm new to loading coated lead (or lead for that matter). Just wondering if everyone else is getting smoke? Is it bad? No. Is more than my platted loads? Yes. Thanks.
  5. I've been thinking of getting the Redding comp seat die as well. If you stick with one load and never change stuff (OAL) up, I guess it's not needed as much but I like to change loads up. Hope the Redding die helps dial OAL in easier. Not really sure that helps answer your question but I'm coming to the same conclusion.
  6. Gen 3 is what I use. It's a little cheaper. But not much since you get the extra mag with the gen 4. You can use grip tape to get a better grip surface. The gen 4 have a little more flexibility for grip size but without the spring adapter have less flexibility with spring choices. Also, most folks like the mag release on the gen 4 better. I bought my gen3 before there was a gen4. Doing it all over today I'd probably go with the gen 4.
  7. Isn't there more than one auto bullet feeder? RCBS makes one. From what i know, there is only 2 options.GSI or Mr.Bullet. My plan is to use the GSI toolhead and Mr.Bulletfeeder hybrid. Rcbs can be a little tricky, i don't know the hornady unit. RCBS and Hornady are toys by comparison from what I have seen and handled. GSI involves its own tool head etc but is a quality tool. MBF is just an awesome high quality tool that works I want one after watching a few videos! Defintley speeds up the process.
  8. I assumed the same thing go to coated lead from Xtreme. Never thought about plunk test to make sure just loaded them up and headed to the range. Loaded one in the chamber and slide closed fine but went to cool guy press check the gun I couldn't pull the slide back. The projectile has jammed in the lands so hard when I finally got the slide to the rear the projectile separated from the case and stuck in the barrel as if were a squib. I had to pull 200 loaded catridges because I thought the diameter was too big. All I had to do was seat them deeper, luckily I didn't try to fire that first one as it could have been a bad day. Lesson learnedSent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Use a lot of caution just seating them deeper. Pressure can spike exponentially by shortening oal. I would shorten one until it passes full plunk test and measure. If it changed much over a thou or so I'd pull since it's only 20.Thanks for the input. I actually ended up pulling them all. I'm finding that I'm gonna have to seat these down to 1.08 or so to get these to clear the lands.
  9. Isn't there more than one auto bullet feeder? RCBS makes one.
  10. You guys are killing me! I guess im just gonna have to buy one! How'd you decide to go with the MBF ove other options ?
  11. I loaded up 20 RN 124 to the same OAL length as my 147's. Guess what? Different profile. Guess who has 20 bullets to pull?! This guy! Though I'll probably just leave them loaded and seat them further after plunk testing a dummy round.
  12. Don't know much about them. Other than I want one. 1. How much $$ 2. What station is yours in, 3? I don't have the powder check so that's where I'd want to put it. Don't want to use a seat/crimp combo die. Thanks.
  13. I started a thread on another forum about this. Are you using mixed brass? I never really got any input that satisfied my questioning. My deveation was about .005 on avg but had a few that were .010. I just chalk it up to once fired mixed brass, shell plate slop, tool head slop, and maybe inconsistent down stroke on the press. All those together contribute slightly. Add them up. Now if you're getting .016 that's a little much. What kind of brass? Bullets? Assuming the primers are seated deap enough to not stick out causing greater OAL. Any chance your calipers are the problem?

I've been asking (to myself) the same question. The only answer I can come up with is that the CZ should be more reliable. The 1911 can be prone to malfunctions with the shorter 9mm. The CZ is a 9mm based design so in therory it should have less issues.

    Pics, details? Thanks.
  16. Well, I'm stocked up on wsf and clays. Though, I'm a little hesitant to load 147's with clays. I have in the past using load data from the grapevine. But not sure I want to anymore. So, gonna go with 3.7 gr of wsf @ 1.15" OAL and federal/sellier & bellot primers

I'd like to know too! I've heard this summer. Would love to see if anyone has anything to back that up. Be prepared to pay over MSRP for a while though! At least that's my guess!
  18. Just ordered some from Bayou.
  19. I'm gonna try a bunch of different ones out. Ordered some Acme 124 and 147. Gonna see what shoots best in my G34(OEM barrel).
  20. Can I ask a newb question. I've never thought about it but can you use the same seating die setting for both RN and FP? You shouldn't have to adjust the die for OAL when switching between the two, correct?
  21. It's my understanding that the spring is supposed to be compressed more. I remember seeing a video (I think from Dillon) where it shows/says you should be able to place a business card between the spring coils.
  22. I'll probably end up buying from a few different makers. And weigh cost/accuracy.
  23. Yes, that is exactly what it did, reduced over travel. Be cautious though, when I did mine, the instructions on Wilson's site were pretty unhelpful. Took a lot of trial and error to fit it.Bob I had heard that. I sent it to them for them to install.
