  1. I would try a Glock 34 with a vanek trigger job. I think the parts that he uses in his triggers reduces the length of pull. Hi-cap mags. Small frame. Low recoil. Cheap. Can convert to an open gun.
  2. I don't think that you need to run the brass through the Dillion and then through the EGW die, sounds like a major waste of time. I would try just lubing a little bit of brass and the moving parts on the machine. You will be very surpised how much easyer it will get to pull the handle... My 2 cents Craig
  3. I use a combo of melting and super glue. Be careful not to damage the "coating" on the outside of the rod, or get glue on it, as it will lead to a dimmer fiber optic sight. The brightest fiber optic rod you can buy is Caspian.
  4. Tonights high 24 below zero. Tomorrows high 6 below zero. Thats not wind chill either. Tonights wind chill 45 below zero. Theres a brief summary of Iowa's winter weather. Oh well, its going to get up to a whopping 34 next week.
  5. I'm positive you can adjust the CR so that there is more space between the holster and your leg.
  6. Youth Remington 1187 20 gauge. They are pretty light weight and shoot slugs pretty good if you are going to hunt with it. My brother started using one when he was only about 70lbs and it worked fine for him.
  7. On a stage this year where you had to pick up a grenade off the ground that was right in front of you while kneeling and make an attempt to hit a wall about 20 yards away or it was a penalty. Myself and another shooter had back to back DQ's involving CR speed holsters. CR holsters are my farvorite, they are fast and if properly adjusted, extremely safe while locked. They are just not adequate for every start postition in USPSA.
  8. How did I know you would say somthing like that.
  9. I thought these are illegal? Maybe that's only in IDPA. A.T. Must just be in IDPA because about 50% of the USPSA shooters I see were them.
  10. Well if you have not tryed the leaning method (Which I was lucky enough to pick up at the AMU junior camp)... Leaning is more successful for me. BTW I was also lucky enough to take a class taught by manny and liked the army style better. Craig
  11. I have found that you can get in and out of positions better and faster by staying low and leaning on the last shot to get your momentum going in the right direction. To test for yourself get two shooting boxes and place them about five yards apart. Draw shoot one round, run to the other box the way you normally do and shoot one round. Then repeat the steps but lean on the last shot in the 1st box and stay low well entering the 2nd box. It saves me about a second on every shooting position which can add up to a bunch of points in a match. My .02 Craig
  12. There is a good drill that I learned from the AMU camp. Place one target out in the range. Mark distances 10, 15, 20, 25 yards away. Set par times on your timer that will make it challenging to hit 5 alphas from each distance with a draw. The rules of the drill are the hit doesn't count if it is not an alpha and you shoot 5 shots from each position. So the drill is 20 total rounds. This drill helped me a ton. Hope it helps you. Craig
  13. Are you kidding, I have to split wood one day a year and it sucks. We even have one of the hydraulic splitters and it is some hard work. My back is always sore the next day... Are you talking about cutting down the tree and getting the logs ready to split or just spliting. I guess just spliting wouldn't be that bad.
  14. Yeah that was a sucky start position. For the 8 3/8 inch holster, CR makes one, I'm pretty sure it is just their normal revo holster with an extention.
  15. Ouch, man that sucks, Hope he gets better soon. Now I am afraid to load primer tubes, oh well I'll just make my brother do it.

    Reloading

I usually try and force myself to during the winter when it is freezing cold so that I won't have to do any when it is nice and warm out. Reloading is a drag but it is sure a sweet feeling when you see the big blue bin in front of you full of ammo.
  17. IMR 4756- Practice VV N105- Match VV 105 works the comp better than 4756 and is ALOT cleaner. 4756 is ALOT cheaper and ALOT easier to find. My 2 cents, Craig
