I know that 38 SC and 38 Special can go in the same moonclips. 38 SC will give you faster relaods. I would probably say that you would need 357 brass to go major.

I don't think the small magnums stand up to more pressure. They just produce more flame for a better powder burn.

I keep getting high primes with the wolf small rifle primers with the 1050 Huh. I don't get any high primers with Wolf primers. I think that Wolf primers are better than Win. or Fed. I use them for all my match ammo in 38 super.

The closest airport is Des Moines. If you can't get a flight out of there, Cedar Rapids airport is about 45 minutes longer drive to Colo. If you still can't find Colo on mapquest try Nevada, IA were about a 4 miles from there. Were right in the dead center of the state on highway 30.

To anybody that thinks that they are going. Open or Limited. Us Tappes are 1 open and 2 limited and I would be dumbfounded if either of the Carmoneys shoot open so... Sounds like 4 limited and 1 open so far. Whats everybody else shooting?

I can think of three options that you could do. 1. Keep it all the same. If you are checking inside of every case to check for double charges there is about 0 chance of one happening. Double charges don't just happen. To get one you would have to go down with the handle twice before bringing it up and rotating the shell plate to the next station, you would probably feel somthing different on that stroke... 2. Use the same powder with a lighter bullet. Although 115 is already pretty light, MG makes a 95 gr. bullet and Remington makes a deadly accurate 88 gr. JHP. By useing a lighter bullet is will take more powder to get up to minor power factor. 3. Switch to VVN320. Its very clean, gives very consistent readings on the chrono, and is probably a little more accurate. Craig

Snubby, Our original plan was to have X17 on Friday, 627s on Saturday, and 625s on Sunday. After a couple of meetings we decided this was too restrictive but we still wanted to somewhat limit gun types to maintain a degree of uniformity among the competitors. After much debate this was our compromise. Since this our first shot at this idea/match we are trying to keep everything as uniform and as simple as possible. We would rather not do a major/minor scoring system this year. Maybe next year we will expand the divisions allowing the use of more gun types/models. We encourage your suggestions to make this match better in following years. There probably will be spare guns if you need to borrow a 40 or 45 for Sunday. Your snubby certainly would be legal to use on Saturday. See ya, Craig

If you are getting a hand spring be careful when replacing it. If you don't pay attention to how it goes in, it is a major PITA to install. Trust me on that one...
