Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. Excellent. I'm happy to hear the good news. Dillon support is great.
  2. That happens to me when I use brand spanking new Starline brass for 9mm. I asked Dillon a couple of weeks ago if they have a smaller powder funnel that will work with new brass better and they told me that they didn't. They said that the problem would go away after a reload or two. What I end up doing is spray my finger with hornady one shot and then lubricate the powder funnel every 10-15 rounds so that the brass not stick. I may try to tumble it 1st next time. Perhaps the media will privide some lubricant.
  3. I have a 550 and just bought Dillon 223 dies so that I can reload for a Rock River DCM AR-15. Are Dillon dies Small Based? Does it matter?
  4. Yes, I know that. I guess I wasn't clear about making it a package deal when you order a conversion kit. Any way, I just bought another small powder bar and will have a powder bar dedicated for each caliber, and use just the one powder measure canister.
  5. For caliber conversion kits it would be nice to see a package deal selection for a toolhead, powder die, and powder bar in addition to the SUPER deluxe package that includes the powder measure with two powder bars. I think this would be useful since I was thinking all I really need is the powder bar to maintain my settings on my powder measure. I hope this made sense.
  6. I applaud that you figured out how to make it work with 223 rifle cases, and are sharing the information. However, IMO, the Dillon 550 will loose market share unless they start selling a 550 casefeeder that can load rifle out of the box. The Hornandy LNL is auto indexing and has a case feeder that works with rifle cases. Besides pistol cases, 223 rifle is probably the most popular round that is loaded in high volume. Come on Dillon...just do it ! Otherwise we will probably get some BS when we call to tell you that we mangled up all the parts to do this modification, and need some more free parts to mangle until we get it right
  7. Chris, Excellent photo of the 550 and 650 side by side. It's clear that the 650 is more beefy than the 550 by far! That 650 is a looker!
  8. Is there a technical reason why the 550 casefeeder doesn't feed rifle cases? It seems that the advantage of the 650 caefeeder is that it allows for rifle cases. If us 550 users can't do rifle cases with the casefeeder then I just don't see the point in buying it since I use my 550 for 38, 45, 223, and 30-06. Wouldn't changing from pistol to rifle defeat the simplicity of setting up the 550 since the case feeder equipment would need to be removed?
