  1. You two need to stop practicing right now! I am never going to be able to keep up!! Great work man. Keep it going. Looking forward to Sunday.
  2. Sounds like you are narrowing it down. I mentioned the cage because my pistol was dropping to half cock position when I would pull the trigger very slowly in SA mode. It turned out the cage was moving up and down in the back so much it would let the hammer go. I sent it back to CZC and they tightened it up by peening the sear cage "forks" that go under the frame lip so it could not move up an down any more. That solved my problem several thousand rounds ago.
  3. check to see if the sear cage has excessive play up and down toward the rear end of it.
  4. Ahhh yes... I remember having trouble with that one as well. 2006 A7 Championship?? I have a similar video. i was shooting limited. I'll have to see if I can dig it up.
  5. Thanks man! It came out really nice. I couldn't wait to get home to re-assemble the guts. I fit a new firing pin stop, front sight and replaced the extractor spring. Now I just need to get to the range to dial it back in. The only thing I was wondering about is if chroming the slide is going to affect the weight of the pistol (production rules concern). I probably should weigh it sooner rather than later and make adjustments if necessary. See you in a couple weeks. Time to go outside again!!!
  6. I just got my slide back from chrome.
  7. I run an 11.5 lb Cajun spring in my SP01 Shadow Target with an extended firing pin from CZC. No problem at all with Winchester primers.
  8. I shot a whole season and the nationals last year with my first CZ from CZC. It is the first prodction pistol I like competing with as much as my custom built STIs (for limited / open). Previously, in production, I have used a Sig X5AA, 229, G17, and a Beretta 92. It took me longer to get a consistent grip than it did to get used to the DA trigger. I also had to switch the right side safety from the Shadow Target style to the standard style because I kept bumping it on (gorilla hands). All in all, I love my CZ. Good luck with yours!
  9. I run my Shadow target with MG 124 JHP, 3.9 gr Titegroup, 1.097 OAL. PF is right around 131-132. It ran 132 pf at the nationals for me this year. I find the accuracy to be good. For fun, I tried out some MG 130gr .356 FMJs. I made a variety of charges using Titegroup to test. The groups were horrible for all of them.
  10. Two of my 627s have the bead front sight. Generally, I like fiber optic sights on my handguns but I actually like the sights on these two. I find them quick to acquire, especially when I am shooting steel with them.
  11. Great memos Dave. I didn't even know you started this. I think I would like to start one as well. Now I know when and what you've been practicing!
  12. Really looking forward to the match this year. Thanks for picking it up again this year guys!
  13. Great job to Dan, the regular Harvard crew, and everybody else who was involved in putting the match on! This was one of the most enjoyable matches I have shot (and watched others shoot) all year. Thanks for the hard work! Your efforts are appreciated! Hopefully I wasn't one of those grumpy RO's. -Matt...
  14. Looking forward to the match Dan. Sent my app to Rob yesterday. -Matt...
  15. Mo- I think you are trying to get everybody even more fired up! It was good to meet you again this year and shoot the breeze for a few minutes while I was watching your squad shoot. -Matt...
  16. Thanks to everybody at Pathfinder for a great match this year. I had an awesome time, thoroughly enjoyed the stages, and had a lot of fun with my squad. I especially enjoyed watching the shooting ability and gun handling skills of a 14 YO young man who was on our squad. He really had it together - especially for a kid his age. I was generally happy with my performance in Limited overall but I could have done better in a few areas. I managed to earn a mike and a no-shoot on "Get R Done" due to fundamental mistakes but I was able to pull it back together for an otherwise clean match. The delay on the forward falling steel in the next stage played games with me just a bit. I know many (myself included) shot "High and Low" in a manner that was not intended by the stage designer. However, it was shot within the rules. I was disappointed to see it thrown out as I shot all A's with a reasonable time. As others have said, a more complete stage briefing, strategically placed no-shoots, or different fault lines would have ensured it was shot as intended. Although a quick stage - I still had fun with it blasting away. Thanks again for all your work and a great match! Matt...
  17. Thanks for all the replies guys(allbeit a late thank you). Better late than never I guess. I forgot I posted this and just opened it to take another look and there were a ton of replies. I appreciate it! I have been using TG to load 180GR 40's for several years with decent results. IIRC, I ended up using 4.5gr under the 230's for the revo. They worked well enough for the match but I would like to do some experiementing with Clays like Dan recommended. I really haven't picked up the REVO since that match. Been shooting limited and production this year.
  18. Thanks Dan. I would like to do some experimenting with Clays and 45. Parker has made this recommendation in the past as well. But given my last minute decision to shoot revolver instead of limited on Sunday I only have TG to work with right now. BTW will you be at the match this weekend?
  19. Can anybody share a good 45 ACP load using Montana Gold 230gr JHP with Titegroup? Going to be shooting them out of a 625 revo at USPSA Thanks!
  20. That wasn't how they did it at Harvard when I shot the A7 match there (2008). Got busted down to minor. Chrono procedure was also followed correctly at A7 2007 in Vermont. My rounds were also chrono'd using my own pistol at A-7 '08 and A-7 '07.
  21. Awesome match! One of the best managed that I have attended. I loved the small squads. I don't think we ever had to wait to shoot. Maybe once. I thought the variety of stages was great. They were so much more challenging than they looked on paper! Although I shot at my level as far as the numbers go, I could have done so much better. I had a major malfunction on stage 1 and ended up with a 14+ sec run. Then I porked stage 3 with the swinger for a nice big goose egg. Plus I went a little "too fast" on How Fast. The rest of the match went fairly well for me. The RO's were curteous and professional. Thank you to all who put in so much effort so we could have a good time!
  22. Rob- I am game for whatever you and Scott want to do. I am up for staying and hanging out after we shoot. It will be fun to talk about the stages over a beer with the guys (and gals). If you guys want to leave after the match that is fine too.
  23. Jay- Unfortunately not. We are driving out Thursday morning watching some of the squads on Thursday, shooting Friday afternoon, and then we are taking off when we are finished. That would have been great to grab a beer. Probably just as well for you guys though - this way you wont be cloudy in on Saturday morning!
