    G43X

So who is going to be the first to go with one in Production or CO ? Might be the ticket for a Junior with smallish hands.
  2. Lone wolf used to make a G20 10mm to 9mm but I believe they discontinued a few years back converting to 9mm was from my research problematical but could be done with an 11 lbs spring and barrel the 10mm mags “mostly” worked not sure if a different top end would work but at that point you would be at the price of a 17/19 new in the box. Reloading would help with the ammo cost but none of these answers are cheap FWIW I can reload 9,10 and .40 for about the same price of 11-15 cents a round for range ammo. Maybe a .22 conversion for plinking but I am not sure if they make one for a large frame. Maybe a police turn in for the 22 or 23 for an economical 9/40 option you could throw a dot on.
  3. Thought is a holdover from the old days when I shot 10mm in open and anybody using a .40 “loaded long” to get them to work you guessed it .40 Long was same oak as a 10mm since it was the early days of hicaps like S_I and Para and they were pretty much 1911 based even in frame size. Basically I will be loading the same as PF is PF just have a slightly larger combustion chamber and 20 rounds per mag is comparable to any of the .40s currently running 140mm mags and all else fails it goes in the safe and I get a 24 Besides it is fun to download to make Major my old open gun would push a 200 PF sometimes when I felt like really working the comp.
  4. Glock 40 10 mm for Limited thinking 155s or even 135s to get the slide moving but 6” limited with almost 9” or sight radius and a Safariland 014 holster can start using some of the 3,000+ empties I have hanging around. My old loading from the 90s open gun was Winchester Super Lite so I will have to root through the reloadingforum and see what the other 10s are using , thought I read that WSL is also Titegroup so maybe. The larger frame fits my hands well and Carver has the Wells and +5 extensions
  5. Also have an old Delta Elite 10mm built by San Serpina way back when
  6. 49 here did most of my “racing” back in the early 1990s made it to B Class Open starting back this spring in Production then maybe Limited with an outside chance of dusting off the dual port single stack LaRocca think we added the c-more in 1993-4
  7. That’s not far from my old 38Super load shot real nice in my LaRocca comp gun Back then it was WW540 = now HS6
  8. I went with Black Scorpion Gears Production Package and added a ghost 360 pouch Chased all the threads with blue loctite once I got it all set where I wanted it.
  9. Bon Fortuna, keep us posted I’m thinking of Limited Major and building up a 22 with a sight block for 2020
  10. Smith and Wesson Forums, I know someone over there has a copy of "the Standard Catalog" by Jim Supica and would probably look up your serial range if you ask nicely, they did it for my 1970 K-38 http://smith-wessonforum.com/s-w-revolvers-1980-present/222977-new-members-looking-date-manufacture-info-how-find-your-serial-number-79.html
  11. I would just replace the T plate and use some Blue Loc Tite and don't overtorque back when I started this my 'smith told me all threaded assemblies should have either anti-seize or Loc Tite and per my Father who was a mechanic since before I was born torquing was "snug = 1/4 turn" when in question for small threads. only time I had trouble was when I did not do this.
  12. I got 1,000 Blazer Brass 115 9mm on Black Friday for $7.00/50 at that price the cover stays on my Dillon RL450 (upgraded powder and primer system) once I get back in the swing of things I will work up a 147 gr load. until then my Glock 34 seems to like the loading and I have while I work on coming back from a almost 20 year break.
  13. Welcome, you may want to search out a GSSF match in your area some places have an indoor league my home range will even rent you a gun allowing you to try a few different Glocks to see if you want to go that way and get used to shooting under a time pressure, usually 10 rounds from low ready in 15 seconds at different distances.no holsters,no reloads just stand there and shoot (a good basic place to start from and build on later with reloads and draw from holster etc.) you could also possibly rent some non Glocks to try as well on a different non match day to help see what may work or not work for you. I used the GSSF to get back into this sport after an almost 20 year layoff,.. now to decide if I will use my 34.4 in Limited or Production..... Any way you decide to go,..be safe, have fun and enjoy the match
  14. Sometimes "batches" of a particular gun sit off to the side (kinda like NOS car parts) or it is only done to certain models as a phase out. it is not uncommon to find an old S&W that according to the catalog is older than the date on the box. also sometime in the past maybe a smith replaced the cylinder for some reason or other..
  15. back in the day for my 1911 I had lead or brass base pads and plastic ones depending on which magazine, lets just say sometimes Newton would show up and lay down the Law #1 so be careful when adding weight to mags there seems to be a point of diminishing returns ( he says putting TTI +3/4s on his Glock 34 Mags ) (Newton's First Law states that an object will remain at rest or in uniform motion in a straight line unless acted upon by an external force. It may be seen as a statement about inertia, that objects will remain in their state of motion unless a force acts to change the motion.)
  16. 5 TT basepads for $90 Shipped ? I'll take them as I am getting back into the game in Production

Paypal works for me just have to work out the finer points as I am also rusty at using that as well.

    Thanks.

  17. Pretty sure I shot with him back in the day at the Copicut range when he was just starting out, used to own a detail shop in Fairhaven/New Bedford d,years ago early 1990s Rest Well old friend.
  18. which comp would have the same threads as a suppressor? always thought comp threads were more per inch ( finer) than suppressor thread pattern.
  19. Out of curiosity to those that understand all these rules, I have been away awhile and am looking at production with my 34 and was going to convert my 23 with a conversion barrel but interpret the rules to mean.... you can aftermarket a slide and barrel but no go on a conversion barrel/stock slide if you wanted to say run a 23 as a 19 ? maybe the logic would be a conversion barrel is a pseudo bull barrel being the conversion has a thicker wall? But setup a completely aftermarket 9mm upper and nobody would know it started life as a .40 at that point cost drives you back to just buying a 19 instead of breathing life into a 23 you don't use anymore
  20. not to be obtuse but I just held a Glock mag next to a 1911 mag as I don't own a 2011 and the angle of the feed lips to the back of the mag look almost (to 48 year old eyes) identical... grip angles are different but the mag angles look pretty close to me. now the mag catch is another thing but maybe you could graft a Gen4 glock setup into an old 2011 plastic lower ? Gcarr this may be closer than we think,
  21. Either the Rogers Tap Rack Training aid (TRT) for my 43 or a SIRT Mag for my 19/34 when not training with my SIRT have yet to set up for an AR mag,
  22. Thanks for verifying that it does work, I was fiddling around with it and found that if you pull a Glock trigger forward (reset and not recocking)and just click it it picked it up so was hopeful the report was wrong. I thought there used to be a setting for SIRT but they removed it and posted on their site that is won't for some reason. https://mantisx.com/pages/dry-fire and I will check out the G-sight app it looks the most versatile.
  23. Have one inbound, just ordered it Saturday from the Mfg. so we shall see . they say it won't work with MantisX which is a bummer but if I can get the trigger anywhere near on the take up I will be happy because if you can shoot a heavy trigger you can really drive a light one. now to work out the training plan.
  24. Just cut up a section of any plastic rail section and some of the red backed gray 3M tape from the autoparts store and you are all set. I run my 34,23,43 Glocks and my 1911s and even my S&W 52-2 on the Glock 43 an ETS 9 round mag gets it below your grip nicely ( I also shoot GSSF) it really helps keep you honest when it "feels good" but isn't and just how bad support hand only is. the Compresed surprise break feature is good for timer beep reactions ( shot ) or draw from holster on the first beep at least as the beeps are tight for resets but not enough time to reset and reholster for me at least. They are working on an upgrade header for draw from holster I am told, they do upgrades to software about every 5-7 weeks so who knows whats next. Is it the be all end all training tool ? no but it is a very handy club in the training bag.. I have toyed with it on my AR but haven't really set up anything yet to see where I need work on a rifle.
  25. I shoot the indoor matches here near Nashville,TN friendly bunch... Since it is also my carry choice I went with the Haley 13 sights, deck tape in top of slide andswapped out the trigger shoe with a smooth one from a spare trigger assembly spare mags (4) all with a Pearce +1 conversions and as far as ammo for matches I am currently using S&B 115 gr FMJ since indoor ranges here mandate factory ammo only, their sandbox their rules... I will be looking at different factory ammo soon for something softer, frustrating since the RL450 would be all over making some good stuff..
