  1. I need Henie Sraight Eight sights on my Witness match!
  2. Thanks guys. I got it fixed with much help from Henning. If someone else has this happen, the problem was that the spring loaded plunger was in the wrong position. There are two notches that the plunger has to be lined up with. I was trying to push it in with the plunger in the middle position in which the plunger isn't able to go in far enough. Henning's shop helped me out totally and thanks to me getting myself into trouble, and him helping me out of it, I know know my new gun better than most. This guy took the time to fully answer my questions and explain everything in detail. I can't thank him enough. Great company that has fully earned my loyalty for as much Tanfoglio items I can buy from him. If you need anything for your Witness, I suggest you patronize him.
  3. First off I'm new here. I just have been using this forum for info for the past few weeks while I was trying to buy my first Witness ever! So hello to everyone. I have just bought a Witness Elite match 10mm. It is NOS but was heavily oiled from the factory (I assume). I field striped it in order to remove all that oil lube and replace it with slide-glide. I went one step further and removed the safety pin and sear block to clean contact surfaces and under it. I disassembled it this far once the night I got it home and was able to easily replace the sear, safety pin, reassemble, and everything was perfect. Well this time, I can't get that pin back in. It's like it's stuck. I can push that plunger on the safety pin in but the pin won't seat through to the other side of the slide. I can get it to the point where the spring loaded plunger touches the frame, can push that plunger into the pin, but that safety just won't go all the way home. I'm at my wits end trying to get this thing back together so I can shoot it! It must be binding somewhere or or there's a trick that I don't know. Is there a trick to replacing that safety lever? Could something in the sear block have moved that will not let it go all the way through? The only difference between the first time when I had zero problems getting it back together and now is that I adjusted the allen screws to take the take-up and over travel out of the trigger. Maybe that changed something that is putting a bind on it? The trigger bar seems to be pushing up on the sear now. i don't remember it doing that before, but I could be mistaken. Can anybody tell me what i may be doing wrong? Has anybody had these out and replaced them before who can tell me how it supposed to be done? If I can't figure this out myself, I'm going to try to find a gunsmith who can get this done for me. Any possibility you can refer me to someone in the central Texas area who knows these guns? Any help to get me actually shooting this fine firearm would be hugely appreciated. Thanks in advance.
  4. Had to resurrect this one. Sorry but I missed it when it was new. Was hoping you could elaborate a bit more on these trigger bars. By larger radius do you mean that the curved part is just flatter? Like it is part of a larger circle? (If that makes sense) What do you mean by the "cruciform area"? What about it is so different? Any chance you can post pics that show the two different types and what the differences are? I made a post here and on GT asking these same questions but it's not had many hits yet. I have 2 Glocks that I believe have the same trigger bars. One's a G24 that I would like to use to school myself into giving it a competition trigger but I would like to be sure I am starting with the right trigger bar to make it easier on myself. I have no way of identifying what I have. Thanks for posting all this info. I will help me a ton I'm sure.
  5. Thanks for the friendly welcome! I guess all the people who know about this don't have a camera or both to take a picture of. Does anybody know of any other way to tell the difference? What exactly ARE the differences? The post by Joe D didn't really go to deep into describing that.
  6. Hello everybody. Been reading some post here for a while and have been around Glocktalk for quite a while. Finally decided to say "HI" and create a post. Joe D made a couple of excellent post on trigger modifications. One thing he mentioned is that there are 2 types of factory trigger bar, one long nose and one short. I hadn't realized there were two kinds before. Can anybody who has one of each post a side by side picture? I would like to see the difference between the two so I can see if mine are long or short. I believe both of my Glocks have the same type but I have no way of knowing which type they are. Is there a sure way to identify them?
