    hs6

Is hs6 a decent powder for 40 major using 185 molys? Any reason not to use it?
  2. How much does temp affect titegroup loads? I'm hearing it is dramatic. I chronoed a 161 pf load the other day in 50 to 55 degree weather. What is your guess it will be if the temp is around 90?
  3. Surely, it couldn't possibly be that much or no one would use it. You would get huge swings in your load at a big match depending on whether you hit the chrono stage at 8:30 in the morning or 2 pm. You had to have had some other variables that caused that much difference. Maybe your chrono or theirs was off. Is that possible?
  4. I know that with tightgroup as temp goes up so does the velocity, but how much. I chronoed at 161 pf at around 50 to 55 degrees. What should I expect the same load to be at 80 or 90 degrees?
  5. How much more does the sight tracker barrel weigh than a standard bull barrel, and how much less does the slide weigh due to the cutout?
  6. Has anybody put some serious rounds through one of these to see how they hold up long term? Do the trigger jobs on the m&p also reduce the power of the striker hitting the primer?
  7. I have a thumb shield on a sti tactical 9mm, and a swenson safety on my edge 40. Why spend the extra money to put on rear serrations and then spend more money to cover them with a thumb shield. I might decide later I need one, but then I will have it put on later. I figure with no rear serrations I probably won't need it.
  8. I'm not familiar with semi panel cuts. I'm not sure if my gun smith will do them. The reason for no rear serrations is because I don't want my thumb to rub on them and slow the slide. The slide is already on its way from sti, it is the rounded top, bare. I guess I could have it tri topped, will it be worth the expense. This gun will not be used for uspsa, I have a 40 edge for that. It will be a 9mm for idpa, and for practice with cheaper 9mm bullets. Given its intended purpose should I have it tri topped, and please explain the semi panel cuts. Thanks.
  9. Would it be the same spring used in a 5" slide? I saw that wolff gun springs had special springs for 6" slides.
  10. If you build a six inch 2011 with the slide litened to equal the weight of a 5 inch slide, would you use the standard recoil spring of the same weight you prefer with your 5" slide?
  11. Don't you guys think they would have a hard time calling it slide litening if I had the same number of serrations in the front as someone else had with their front and rear serrations combined.
  12. I am having a 2011 sti built for esp. I know that slide litening is illegal. I do not want any rear serrations on the slide, so my thumb does not ride on them, but I was thinking I would have front serrations all the way to the ejection port. Is it possible I would have a problem with this at a major match?
  13. One powder I was considering that no one has mentioned is allient power pistol. It seems like it would be good for getting a hot 9mm load, and the guy at precision said it should burn slow enough not to burn off the moly. Any thoughts.
  14. I shoot limited 40, but with the rising cost of bullets I am going to start practicing with my 9mm sti. I am going to be using 125 gr moly coated bullets to keep costs down. I am looking for suggestions on what powder to use. I would like to make around 145pf safely, since I am practicing for major 40 loads, not minor. I also need a powder that will not burn off the moly coating, because I am trying to keep my lead level in check. Any suggestions on a powder that will accomplish both. Thanks.
