  1. Dilbert is a cartoon? I thought it was a guide to Management...as do many others. Sometime it is so close to reality it is scary...and my boss looks like Dilbert...probably shouldn't have told him that in retrospect - live and learn
  2. So I recently bought a WC CQB 1911 .45. And maybe this all goes without saying but... It has run like a top so far with approx. 300-400 rounds through it...so far only in matches...I haven't taken it to the range for paper-punching yet. Fit and finish are excellent...but not so pretty as to be left in the safe and not shot...may we call this "man-pretty"? It is. It has great balance and recoil feels great...even with WWB factory loads. "Downside": So far in each match I've shot it in someone has felt the need to tell me why they wouldn't spend that much money on a pistol...while this does get old, it sure is fun when my CQB performs. I try not to get sucked into their diatribe and just smile. The guy yesterday, after proclaiming my foolish ways, continually had his pistol malf....much cursing and flailing ensued each time...insert BIG smmile here Another guy there was lusting after it and I let him shoot it afterward...I told him is was no favor letting him shoot it as he already wanted one...then he put a magazine thru her and now - he must have one...I pointed him your way airedale (I still want that one in black/green too)...must resist. So is it worth the dough?? Like so many things there are others as good or maybe slightly better (not that I really believe that ;-)) but I'm very happy with it....I even shot it well weak hand yesterday...it is a keeper. ymmv Edited to add: Results just in from first IDPA match yesterday - 3rd of 7 in CDP and 18 of 35 overall...not great but not too bad either...I'll take it and keep practicing
  3. I got...脳年齢テスト01 瞬間記憶 Yeah!! I think
  4. Solution is too easy and doesn't allow for dremelling... Embrace your inner dremel
  5. It is a Fat Chance Ti. I picked it up a couple of years ago like new and built with basically w/ every ti component. I made a couple of upgrades like a stealthy 9 speed thumbshifter system (hint: dura ace end of bar shifters) on modern King Rear end. I have beenn riding a Fat Chance Yo Eddy (chromoly) since 94. Both are same year 93 and both medium so it cool to switch between them to compare frame materials. I think I owe some pics here and promise to get some up soon. FWIW...I've riden other rigs since owning the Yo, but that is the one that stays..well and the ti now too. Ionbond...could you do a hardtail? or even want to? just a random thought...
  6. Nice build on that rocket too!
  7. not me but it looks like my bro's leg did. I'm not too worried about other creatures...just those little buggers...snakes no prob...two leg varmits....eh...but those little guys freak me OUT I really feel fortunate to live in North America where we have really very little to worry about...
  8. One itsy bitsy spider...'nough said
  9. I got my arachnaphobia (sp) after my brother got bit by a brown reculse. It was in his blue jeans and bit him midway on his inner thigh. We was off his feet for over a month. His whole thigh looked like someone took a ball bat to it (from his knee to his crotch)...until the center got necrotic and rotted out. Of course it could have been worse if it was located in another section of his pants... Spiders...vaporize them... Yeah I learned my phobia for sure...
  10. Zen no quite so much like a stroke...unless in Zen you lose motor control and your hand seizes up...face goes numb...that isn't Zen like... I had one at 38...sitting watching Monday night Football...not cool

    home invasions

How about we stop them at the border?!
  12. I told myself I wasn't going to post in the Hate forum for a while...but this is too much. An Arizona home invasion allegedly orchestrated by Mexican citizens wearing tactical gear sparked fears that members of the Mexican military were involved in a wave of violent crime in the Phoenix area, according to local reports. http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,372202,00.html
  13. On one of the "shows"...they said the B2 is literally worth its weight in gold.
  14. If it is a standard gun like a Glock 19, etc, I don't even care about pics unless there is some wear or otherwise unique issue...and I'm a picture guy. I think you have the basic shots covered...maybe the bottom of the magwell. That would be different but I have seen it done from time to time. Keep them relatively small. If you are new to digital photography, be sure you know how to re-size the pics to something in the 600-800px width arena (IMO)...and keep the file size fairly small (~200-300 KB) ...just don't use 5MB pics right out of the camera. This will make for happy shoppers even if on dial-up. You can always email larger upon request. Another thing...don't use your camera-phone...please.
  15. Thx for all the responses gang. I'm not a data analyst (more pretty picture guy) but it seems the higher ranked shooters shoot a lot. This probably isn't too shocking but it helps me define "a lot" in my mind...several of you are shooting 5+ a month + practice sessions (live and dry) As I mentioned in the beginning I'm new but addicted...to the point of interferring with my other love...no not her...my bike - i digress... I started in October and have done 2-3 matches/month since. I'm improving but still settling in on division, practice, load, etc...SS seems to be suiting me right now although I can't shoot a classifier to save myself...weak hand SS is by-far my weakest link and for some reason all the ones I've shot SS have had weak hand. In cycling, a beginner may be doing 1-2 hours rides and thinking they are riding "a lot" when experienced active riders may be doing rides of 4+ hours -- it is all about your perspective on things i guess. Thanks again for the perspective.
  16. +1 And...if they used half thickness (which is surely enough) they would save serious shipping costs...fuel costs...less impact on our good mother earth...or, if spelled out...saves ga$.
  17. I use the SS version and really like them. Mine seem to have loosened up a bit from use. Initially they are pretty tight, but just a little/moderate use and they are like butter. YMMV
  18. Can you put up some more details? What type of club? How it will be used? Name of club? Local flavor? Maybe examples of things/logos you like or want to "emulate"? Why you want it? I'd be willing to provide a couple of comps...maybe for some swag, t-shirt, etc...only if you used my ideas of course. Logos can be tough as they really have to walk a thin line of usability vs. pleasing visually vs. informative...or not...some are just "icons" You can PM me or just post here for other to try...you never know the width and breadth of the shooting community. I found out yesterday a shooter/gun shop buddy is also a sculptor...who'd thunk it? My $0.02
  19. Just like the old days...when they pumped your gas, asked to check your oil, maybe clean your windshield??? Check your tire pressure for you - naw now they charge $.75 for air I'm waiting for the good ole days...
  20. you tried to put a size 2 thong on your size 14 ass. Even metal fails at a certain PSI

    Knife Snobs

Has anyone used the HAK - Hide Away Knife? ( http://www.hideawayknife.com/main.php ) I have a basic one on order. I like the idea of having it custom fit to my hand and for ~70 it seems like a decent deal. I'm not sure about the neck knife option but you can "hide" it in unique places...like on a security (ID-style) badge.
  22. This really chaps my hide. They are full of toxins, very slow to degrade (if at all), ugly and cause fires...and it is littering. "Why not put them in your ashtray?" I asked a friend while we were travelling. "I don't want to stink up my car, those things are nasty" Smoke 'em if you want...stick the butts back in the pack! Interesting article I found. http://www.longwood.edu/CLEANVA/ciglitterarticle.htm I've been pondering a "deposit" for butts...would you keep them if they were worth a penny or two? Homeless...pickup butts and trade them in for food/shelter/needs/etc...I could probably buy dinner at my exit off the highway with $0.01 butts....grrrr...
