I don't see how. You could call Bruce Gray www.grayguns.com he's the only one I know who shot them in competition (as HK sponsored him) and he could give you an honest evaluation of the pros and cons. The HK just doesn't fit me well, so I didn't keep mine long.

Depends on how you learn. I learn all the time about shooting from things that have nothing to do with shooting. 1. Would it be as effective as taking a specialized IPSC class? No. 2. Would you learn something? If you wanted to. It sounds like you already know the answer you are looking for. If you look at why you are asking the question that might tell you something to.

which basepad did you find that would work?, Do you have to wait till the magic number is manufactured to use it in limited class? A modified Henning base pad works and is 140mm legal, but Arrendondo is making a pad and maybe a follower. We will be doing an XDm specific aluminum pad eventually also for those who want options.

About 150k, but I'm sure that isn't going to be the highest. I bought it with about 70k and put about 80k through it and the fit is still excellent. It is .38 super, originally built by Fred Craig.

Nope, the new mags are thicker steel and seem better made though.

I got one today. It will hold 20 +1 rounds of .40 with a base pad. I like the grip and the slide. They messed up the trigger system just so you don't have to pull the trigger to take off the slide. I think that was REALLY STUPID. It can be fixed though, just a bigger pain to deal with.

Daune, I think the skill level of shooters that visit this forum is higher than at the average IDPA match, so your numbers will skew higher.

What is your experience level in this regard, just out of curiosity? How many people have you actually seen ducking facing the top shooters? I've never seen it - not that that means it doesn't happen. But it's always been my experience that "damn good shooters" seek out the chance to pit themselves against the best, just to know where they really stack up. I think Duane is quite correct, any shooter who "ducks a match" because there are better shooters there isn't much of a shooter. I would much rather shoot with better shooters than win a piece of paper or wood, the experience is much more valuable than a prize.

With the XD the striker spring is trying to pushing the slide out of battery, so what Rich said is correct. We have a new striker spring that works better with the 16# recoil spring. The springs are no more or less prone to wear. Barsto, SA, and us (Springer Precision) use a guide rod with a built up guide rod head for the 1911 springs. I like the 18# spring as the gun tracks better for me.
