If you chose to shoot sub minor, most likely the poppers will get you, and with the loads you can get that are very soft in the 135 range, it is just stupid to do so.

Sportsman's got some 9mm ammo and small pistol primers in today, so I loaded up my truck with everything they had I got home and the wife asked me what the heck I bought at Sportsman's (not a small bill), as she was doing the banking when I was at the store and saw the bill while I was driving home (2 minutes.) Fortunately she is understanding about need ammo to "test fire" all the guns in the shop. More good news is that I got my .22 upper from the SVi from Tom at Tactical Solutions yesterday, so I might just be using it through the winter.

So... at what point does it go from an "emergency stash" to "Dang Horders..?" Yep, he got my point. I go looking to do some hoarding and find out I'm too late.

So my shop assistant went to the Sportsman's warehouse (2 minutes away) to pick up some 9mm and calls me saying they are out of 9mm ammo and has no small pistol primers I guess I have to break into my emergency stash, which really sucks. I guess the bright side is the number of gun owners is increasing.

3,500 feet and five rooms I think the price is wrong though they have it listed for $175,00 brand new on almost an acre. The wife got a bit excited about this one, but I think they left out a zero. I'm going to call them and find out, if it is that cheap, we might change our plans.

Nothing tricky about it. Solvents never touch my pistols for cleaning. I use slide Enos Slide Glide on the rails, barrel and sear. I use an ultra ultra thin coat of Gun Butter on the striker. The more crap you put in your gun the more is gathers crap to jam it up. I see a lot of XD's and the only ones that are really nasty are the ones that people get way carried away with "products." I hope that helps.

Well with direct flight to Pheonix now, I might be working up here 3-4 long days a week and flying down to visit my family in the winter. The new shop should be done by the time you get your butt back up here. BTW, my wife found a new town in AZ, Springerville, up near the NM border. Anyone know the area? 4 hours from the city doesn't sound bad.

Thanks for the feedback all. The great thing about working for shooters for a living is FedEx makes us only a day away. We've talked some more about a move and are most likely going to look for a few acres somewhere that we can build on in the future. The area looks real nice, the wife hates the winters here and the area isn't that far from our friends down there.

If there never is a woman GM, I would rather have that than lose the camaraderie, and joy for the sport you gals have, you are a much better example to the world to see than many who are GM (at the cost of everything else.) Keep rockin' Athena, Renee and all you other gals who are a shinning example of what sport should be.

Every M and GM is a paper GM, cause that is all it is, a piece of paper. To stay at that level is not easy either and the classification system has no way to deal that. When I got my GM in limited I shot nearly everyday for 6 months straight, a couple hundred rounds per session. Hitting good classifiers was easy, because I put in the work. By that point I didn't really care about what card I was, I just wanted to get better. A wife, kid and new business later, my classifiers are much lower. Do I know first hand what it takes to shoot at the M-GM level, I think so, can I do it every time, nope, but I have done it. I even got second on a stage last year between Taran and Robbie at a major match, so deep down in side I do believe I could hang, but in reality it is more than I have to give to do so at this point in time, so I accept that, so I shoot for the love of it (thus my screen name.)

It isn't that hard to make GM, you just have to shoot classifiers as fast as you possibly can. Since they are pretty much all stand and shoot, you will nail them from time to time and your percentage will go up. Do you want to shoot Nationals that way? Not me. Classification has very little to do with a matches anyway as Athena stated. I have no doubt there are several women I know who could make GM if they wanted to, but since they don't see the value in pursuing it, why should they? The more I shoot, the less I see the point in having a GM class anyway.
